Drive Characteristics of Single Phase SRM for Fan Application (송풍기용 단상 SRM의 구동특성)

  • This paper proposes a new driving scheme for single-phase SRM. The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. By use of this scheme, simple power devices based on low switching losses enable to high efficiency SRM drive. Starting, One of the main problem in single-phase SRM is overcame by a new starting algorithm with one hall sensor and a parting magnet. The proposed single phase SRM has a high efficiency and robust drive characteristics compared to that of a universal motor.

The Effect of Suction and Injection on Unsteady Flow of a Dusty Conducting Fluid in Rectangular Channel

  • In the present study, the unsteady Hartmann flow of a dusty viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid under the influence of an exponentially decreasing pressure gradient is studied without neglecting the ion slip. The parallel plates are assumed to be porous and subjected to a uniform suction from above and injection from below. The fluid is acted upon by an external uniform magnetic field which is applied perpendicular to the plates. An analytical solution for the governing equations of motion is obtained to yield the velocity distributions for both the fluid and dust particles.

  • This paper presents the calculation method for the equivalent-circuit parameters and torque characteristics of squirrel-cage induction motors. The measurement of motor parameters were calculated by the stator resistance test, the blocked rotor test and no load test to T type equivalent-circuit. Especially, this paper describes the test results obtained by using hall sensor and strain gauge for the current and torque characteristics of induction motors. Three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor which has 1[hp] was used to the test and the parameters obtained by the test were compared with the maker parameters.

  • This paper describes a series of experiments investigating the operational characteristics of high-Tc superconducting synchronous motor of five to six hundred watts capacity. In this experiment, ac 220V stator phase voltage and DC 4A excitation current are used, and the synchronous speed runs at 1800rpm. Hall Sensors are installed on the pole face and at the side of the Ag/Bi-2223 high-Tc superconducting tape in order to analyze the effect of the time-varying magnetic field on the motor performance when the load changes its value. The experimental observations are compared with the theoretical predictions.

Reflection and refraction of plane waves in layered nonlocal elastic and anisotropic thermoelastic medium

  • In the present paper, we have considered a layered medium of two semi-infinite nonlocal elastic solids with intermediate transversely isotropic magnetothermoelastic solid. The intermediate slab is of uniform thickness with the effects of two temperature, rotation and Hall current and with and without energy dissipation. A plane longitudinal or transverse wave propagating through one of the nonlocal elastic solid half spaces, is made incident upon transversely isotropic slab and it results into various reflected and refracted waves. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and refracted waves are obtained by using appropriate boundary conditions. The effect of nonlocal parameter on the variation of various amplitude ratios with angle of incidence are depicted graphically. Some cases of interest are also deduced.

Effect of energy dissipation on plane waves in sandwiched layered thermoelastic medium

  • In the present investigation, a plane P (longitudinal) wave is made incident upon a transversely isotropic magnetothermoelastic solid slab of uniform thickness, interposed between two different semi-infinite viscoelastic solids. The transversely isotropic magnetothermoelastic sandwiched layer is homogeneous with combined effects of two temperature, rotation and Hall current in the context of GN Type-II and Type-III (1993) theory of thermoelasticity. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and refracted waves are obtained by using appropriate boundary conditions. The effect of energy dissipation on various amplitude ratios of longitudinal wave with angle of incidence are depicted graphically. Some cases of interest are also deduced from the present investigation.

  • This paper presents design of speed control system for slot less air-cored PM linear synchronous motor using space vector PWM. The vector control requires information about rotor position. And we can need to the Hall sensor for sampling current. In order to agree with this purpose, Digital Signal Processor(TMS320F2406A) developed for implementation of a speed Field Oriented Control.

  • BLDCM(Brushless D.C. Motor) is widely used for industrial application because of high efficiency and high power density. Especially, in servo system and home appliance. BLDCM is very useful due to high control performance and low acoustic noise. In this paper, 2.5HP rated BLDCM controller and drive was developed for tread mill application. The prototype BLDCM has 4 poles rotor and 24 slots stator. Ferrite was used as a rotor magnet due to the cost and temperature characteristic. For the stable operation of tread mill. over current and high temperature can be detected by the DSP controller. For the commutation signal, switching patterns from the sensorless circuit and hall sensor signal are used in the DSP controller.

  • This paper studies a busbar design of high power HVDC converter. In order to design a electrical busbar, we need to consider electrical, mechanical and environmental condition. In this papre, we focus on the electrical design in terms of temperaure and currnet. Busbar conductor can be damaged to burn due to the temperature and fault current of busbar. In this paper, Busbar design of Jindo-Jeju HVDC #2 System that will start operate in 2012 is considered.

  • In this work, the ITO thin films were prepared by FTS (Facing Targets Sputtering) system under different sputtering conditions which were varying $O_2$ gas flow and input current. As a function of sputtering conditions, electrical and optical properties of prepared ITO thin films were measured. The electrical characteristics, surface roughness and transmittance of the ITO thin films were evaluated by Hall Effect Measurement, AFM, and UV-VIS spectrometer respectively. In addition, I-V properties of OLED cells were measured by 4156A(HP).
