  • High density power supply technology has been researched over the last few years. In this paper, integrated LLCT(Inductor-Inductor-Capacitor-Transformer) structure is described for use in the half-bridge series resonant converter. The structure is analysed by means of FEMM(Finite Element Method Magnetics) and the experimental results of an U structure for a 300W converter we presented.

  • DC electrolytic capacitor is widely used in the power converter including PWM inverter, switching power supply and PFC Boost converter system because of its large capacitance, small size and low cost. In this paper, basic characteristics of DC electrolytic capacitor vs. frequency is presented and the real-time estimation scheme of ESR and capacitance based on the bandpass filtering is adopted to the single phase boost converter of uninterruptible power supply to diagnose its split dc-link capacitors. The feasibility of this real-time failure prediction monitoring system is verified by the computer simulation of the 5[kW] singe phase PFC half-bridge boost converter.

  • This paper is described the stability and optimization according to each load of induction heating system for using half-bridge high-frequency series resonant inverter. Each metallic package is inserted into the ceramic type vessel with external working coil. This working coil is connected to the resonant inverter. It evaluates performance and stability of this system according to metallic package.

  • Three different current-mode control schemes, peak current-mode control, charge control, and average current-mode control, are investigated for applications to asymmetrical half-bridge dc-to-dc converters. The principles, implementation, and performance of the three control schemes are compared in an attempt to identify the irrespective merits and limitations. Design examples for feedback compensations are given for the three control schemes. A 50 W experimental asymmetrical half-bridge dc-to-dc converter was used to experimentally verify the theoretical results of the paper.

  • In this paper, a soft switching half-bridge converter using secondary switches for output control and conduction loss reduction is proposed. The conventional half-bridge converter must be fixed on duty cycle for soft switching. The proposed converter was consisted of two added switches in series of the secondary rectifier diodes. The main switches with constant duty cycle are operated ZVS. The secondary switches are operated ZV-ZCS. Especially, the primary switches were fixed duty cycle for maximum voltage conversion ratio. Output of converter is controlled by duty cycle or phase-shifted time of secondary switches. The conduction loss of the proposed converter can be reduced by the secondary switches. The operation characteristic, analysis, simulation and experimental results of the proposed converter are presented.

  • The resonant converter cause the high voltage stress according to the input voltage, which increases the conduction loss in converter power switches. The topology of LLC half bridge resonant converter provides ZVS characteristic and also the stress of voltage and current is smaller than that of the general resonant converters. So we can expect the higher efficiency. In this paper, the analysis of the characteristics of the converter efficiency and the best conditions for highest efficiency were investigated. As a result, the efficiency of utilizing up to 93% is achieved.

  • This paper considers the problem of regulating the output voltage of a current doubler rectified asymmetric half-bridge (CDRAHB) DC/DC converter via fuzzy integral control. First, we model the dynamic characteristics of the CDRAHB converter with the state-space averaging method, and after introducing an additional integral state of the output regulation error, we obtain the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model for the augmented system. Second, the concept of parallel distributed compensation is applied to the design of the TS fuzzy integral controller, in which the state feedback gains are obtained by solving the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, numerical simulations of the considered design method are compared to those of the conventional method, in which a compensated error amplifier is designed for the stability of the feedback control loop.

  • LCD Backlight 구동 응용을 위한 새로운 인버터 회로 Topology인 Modified Half Bridge Inverter를 제안한다. 제안된 회로는 LCD의 광원 역할을 하는 냉음극 형광램프(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, CCFL) 구동을 위한 회로로서, 제안된 회로는 주 스위치의 동작 시비율이 낮을 때도 보조 스위치를 이용하여 환류 구간을 형성함으로써 주스위치의 영 전압 스위칭 동작을 보장할 수 있다. 제안된 회로의 동작원리를 설명하고, 타당성을 Simulation 및 실험을 통하여 검증한다.

  • This paper proposed a novel current measurement method for two-phase half-bridge inverter using single current sensor. The proposed method measures DC link input current and a phase current simultaneously and reconstructs each phase currents by simple calculation according to voltage vector. The commutation modes of two-phase half-bridge inverter is analized. The current sampling and reconstructing method is also presented. The proposed method is verified through simulation and experimental results on two-phase induction motor drive system.

  • In this paper, we present an experimental results of 15kV class high-volatge power supply using the LLC resonant half-bridge converter for CNT lamp. The resonant current of the LLC resonant half-bridge converter prototype in the steady state was stable. The output voltage of prototype converter was maintained at about 15kV in the steady state.
