This study was designed to investigate the relationships among adolescent′s study load, peer relationships, school violence and their level of satisfaction with school life. Its purpose was not only to identify and describe their overall school life, but most importantly, to provide baseline data to develop intervention programs that shall improve the level of adolescents′satisfaction with school life. The analysis of data revealed the following results: 1. Adolescents felt highly stressed by their studies. The mean score was 3.40 out of 5 points. 2. Adolescents were highly intimate and relatively low confident with their friends, 4.28 and 3.82 respectively. 3. Approximately half of the respondents(45.4%) had an experience of making their classmates feel "exclusive". In connection, 27% had been involved in school violence. 4. The mean score of adolescents′ level of satisfaction with school life was 2.33. The resets of the study also revealed that students in the rural areas are more satisfied with their school life than in Seoul area Similarly, those in vocational schools are more satisfied than those in regular schools.

Durability performance evaluation technology using Virtual Testing Method is a new concept of a vehicle design, which can reduce the automotive components design period and cost. In this paper, the fatigue life of an aluminum knuckle of a passenger car is evaluated using virtual testing method. The flexible multibody dynamic model of a front half car module is generated and solved with service loads which are measured from Belgian roads. Using a multibody dynamic analysis software, the flexible multibody dynamic simulation of a half car model is carried out and the dynamic stress profile of an aluminum knuckle is acquired. The stress profile is exported to a fatigue analysis software and durability performance of an aluminum knuckle is evaluated.

A simple two-and -half-layer model is used to study the circulation of South China Sea( SCS ). The model is coming from the reduced gravity model of Hurbult and Thompson, with the assumption of rigid surface. It shows there is no distinct branch of the Kuroshio into the SCS. Both the upper and lower pycnocline height anomaly show that the main feature of the circulation of SCS is a cyclone, which is generated by the transportion of the vorticity from the Kuroshio. Aftr generated, the cyclone moves westward due to the beta effect, then dissipates near the west boundary due to the viscosity. After an old one dissipates, a new one appears again. The life cycle of the cyclone is about 160 days.

It is important to evaluate fatigue damage of in-service material in respect to assure safety and remaining fatigue life in structure and mechanical components under cyclic load . Fatigue damage is represented by mathematical modelling with crack growth rate da/dN and cycle ration N/Nf and is detected by X-ray diffraction and ultrasonic wave method etc. But this is estimated generally by single parameter but influenced by many test conditions The characteristics of it indicates fatigue damage has complex fracture mechanism. Therefore, in this study we propose that back-propagation neural networks on the basis of ration of X-ray half-value breath B/Bo, fractal dimension Df and fracture mechanical parameters can construct artificial intelligent networks estimating crack growth rate da/dN and cycle ratio N/Nf without regard to stress amplitude Δ $\sigma$.

The superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic activity of copper complex of 3,5-disopropylsalicylic acid (Cu(II)-DIPS) was tested and compared to those of human recombinant SOD (hrSOD) and its conjugate form with polyethyleneglycol (PEG) using fer- ricytochrome c reduction assay. Stability constant of Cu(II)-DIPS was measured po- tentiometrically using SCOGS2 program. In the presence of 10 g/L albumin, Cu(II)-DIPS lost most of its SOD mimetic activity. HrSOD was modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG) of M.W. 5000. These conjugates have markedly prolonged plasma half-lives of enzymatic activity (15.5 hr) compared to native hrSOD (5 min). In summary, efficient SOD mimetics should be stable enough not to dissociate in blood by serum protein. HrSOD could have longer half-life by conjugation with inert PEG for sustained SOD effect.

The covalent conjugation of human recombinant superoxide dismutase (hrSOD) with trichloros-triazine activated polyethylene glycol (PEG) 5000 formed soluble conjugates with molecular weight of 92KD, which retained $90{\sim}98%$ of original activity with a markedly prolonged plasma half-life of enzyme activity. The effect of hrSOD-PEG conjugates on acetaminophen (ACP)-induced hepatotoxicity was tested in male rats which were pretreated with 3-methylcholanthrene. HrSOD-PEG conjugates inhibited the hepatotoxicity produced by ACP, on the other hand, native hrSOD had no protective effect. The above results indicated that oxygen radicals might participate in the mechanism of the ACP-induced hepatotoxicity and that polymer conjugated-protein drugs with prolonged half-lives could be employed as an effective therapeutic agent.

특허와 같은 기술자산의 경제적 가치를 평가하는 방법론 및 모델은 다방면에서 제시되고 있으나, 데이터베이스 자산의 가치를 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 구조화된 평가모델이 없으므로, 이에 대한 평가모델 및 수명주기 결정로직의 정립을 통해 DB 자산의 라이센싱, 사업화 이전, 기술금융(담보) 등의 용도에 적용 가능성을 높일 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 DB 자산가치의 평가산출시, 예상 수요고객집단의 크기 및 수요량, 데이터셋의 크기 및 중요도, 데이터베이스가 보유기업의 매출성과에 기여한 정도, 데이터베이스 자산의 수명 등이 입력변수로 적절한지를 분석한다. 대부분의 DB 자산은 계속 업데이트되어 수명이 종료하는 경우가 많지는 않으므로 SW 패키지제품의 내용연한과 같은 5년을 표준수명으로 보고 있으나, 본 연구에서는 DB 자산의 가치가 작아지고 업데이트가 일어나지 않는 경우에 대해, DB 사용빈도에 대한 반감기 개념에 기반하여 수명주기 추정로직 및 DB 자산의 가치평가 모형을 제안한다.

Through a field study of the folk houses, 'Closed ㄱㄴ Type' in Goyang-si, Gyonggj-do, focused on the dweller's life by the method of ethnographic interview, observation, and physical survey. L and opposite L type of inner and outer buildings form a closed inner court, and innermost backyard for woman is enclosed by fence. Form and space of the house contains dweller's traditional life. Outer space of a front gate becomes semiprivate space, for thrashing and piling up harvest and raising vegetables and pigs. Confucius principle does not fully dominate dweller's life of ancestral rite at Daecheong floor, and separation of man's and woman's quarter. Superstitious worship activities took place for lord of site and house. In everyday life, Anbang, inner main room, is assigned for parent's quarter instead of woman's quarter, and Geornbang, next room, was for son's family. Anbang has symbolic meaning for a place of deathbed. House contains agricultural activities, crop harvesting, thrashing, putting into storage, hulling rice, and keeping grain near kitchen. At present, rooms are needed more; sheds are made into rooms, rooms are enlarged toward outside, half outside space like Daechong floor becomes interior space by sash screen. And modern facilities of kitchen and bathroom are equipped for convenience. At the end, meaning and generative principle of those forms are discovered.

The purpose of the study is to construct a life table for population. It is based on the fraction of last year of life, $a_X$. The data necessary for this purpose have been obtained from the 1975 Population Census Report of Korea and the Vital Statistics of Shindong-myon, Chunseong-gun, Gangwon Province which is collected for the Seoul National University public health program. Age specific death rate is adapted by the Model Life Table, West, Level 21. For the age groups of less than 5 years of age, when the record of vital events can be obtained, the fractions are calculated from the community vital statistics. And for the age groups older than 5 years of age, Greville's Method is used. The findings are summarized as follows: 1) The fraction of last year of life in infantile group is 0.3684 for males, 0.3711 for females, and in 1-4 years of age group 1.2164 for males, 1.2274 for females. Both are more than those of Japan and U.S. in 1963. 2) Infant mortality rate is 42.37 for males, 31.77 for females per 1,000 live births. 3) The mortality curves show that a higher rate is observed under 1 year of age. It drops to the lowest point at around 10 years of age and rises again as the age increases. 4) The age estimated half-survival rate is during the age group of 70-74 for both sexes. 5) Life expectancy at the age of 0 shows 65.73 years for males and 69.22 years for females.

A degenerated strain of Pleurotus eryngii KNR2312 was isolated from a commercial farm. Random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis performed on the genomic DNA of the normal and degenerated strains of this species revealed differences in the DNA banding pattern. A unique DNA fragment (1.7 kbp), which appeared only in the degenerated strain, was isolated and sequenced. Comparing this sequence with the KNR2312 genomic sequence showed that the sequence of the degenerated strain comprised three DNA regions that originated from nine distinct scaffolds of the genomic sequence, suggesting that chromosome-level changes had occurred in the degenerated strain. Using the unique sequence, three sets of PCR primers were designed that targeted the full length, the 5' half, and the 3' half of the DNA. The primer sets P2-1 and P2-2 yielded 1.76 and 0.97 kbp PCR products, respectively, only in the case of the degenerated strain, whereas P2-3 generated a 0.8 kbp product in both the normal and the degenerated strains because its target region was intact in the normal strain as well. In the case of the P2-1 and P2-2 sets, the priming regions of the forward and reverse primers were located at distinct genomic scaffolds in the normal strain. These two primer sets specifically detected the degenerate strain of KNR2312 isolated from various mushrooms including 10 different strains of P. eryngii, four strains of P. ostreatus, and 11 other wild mushrooms.
