ebXML의 근간을 이루는 XML은 현재 웹에서 사용하고 있는 HTML의 한계를 극복하고, 시스템 및 소프트웨어 독립적인 문서 및 메시지의 표현이 가능하도록 World-Wide Web Consortium(W3C)에서 1998년 2월에 제정한 표준이며, 특히 XML은 서로 상이한 시스템을 연동하는데 매우 유용하기 때문에 Mircosoft의 Bizta lk Framework이나 CommerceNet의 eCo Framework XML/EDI등 B2B 전자상거래 표준에 사용되고 있다.

HTML is mostly stored in native file systems instead of specialized repositories such as a database. Like HTML, XML, the standard for the exchange and the representation of data in the Internet, is mostly resident on native file systems. However. since XML data is irregular and verbose, the disk space and the network bandwidth are wasted compared to those of regularly structured data. To overcome this inefficiency of XML data, the research on the compression of XML data has been conducted. Among recently proposed XML compression techniques, some techniques do not support querying compressed data, while other techniques which support querying compressed data blindly encode data values using predefined encoding methods without considering the types of data values which necessitates partial decompression for processing range queries. As a result, the query performance on compressed XML data is degraded. Thus, this research proposes an XML compression technique which supports direct and efficient evaluations of queries on compressed XML data. This XML compression technique adopts an encoding method, called dictionary encoding, to encode each tag of XML data and applies proper encoding methods for encoding data values according to the inferred types of data values. Also, through the implementation and the performance evaluation of the XML compression technique proposed in this research, it is shown that the implemented XML compressor efficiently compresses real-life XML data lets and achieves significant improvements on query performance for compressed XML data.

HTML that is language that web technology is center expression these day that use of internet and quantity of information by fast development increase rapidly brought limit to use information of web and XML that express meaning or corelation of data itself in W3C by standard for free document transmission and exchange in World Wide Web by the alternative as long as is deviation appeared. There is many efforts to use storing this XML document in RDBMS but to relation style DB because XML document is tree structure structurally data SQL and perfect disaster caused by things that is language to ask a question accomplish. In this paper XML document XML informations that is stored to RDBMS via Parsing and DOM tree process SQL quality through converter called XQuery2SQL of by change and embody XQuery2SQL conversion algorithm that draw information in RDBMS.

학습지도안은 교사와 학습자의 학습활동을 효과적으로 진행하기 위한 조직적이고 구체적인 수업 진행 계획을 의미한다 이러한 학습지도안을 위한 시스템으로 학교현장에 보급된 '교무업무지원 시스템'의 '교수-학습' 메뉴와 웹을 통한HTML 형식과 파일 형식의 학습지도안 공유가 이루어지기도 한다. 그러나 교무업무지원 시스템은 데이터의 형태를 다양하게 할 수 없으며 공유를 할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 또한 HTML 형식과 파일을 공유하는 방법은 다른 형태의 문서로 재사용하기 어렵고 유연성이 떨어진다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 데이터와 프리젠테이션을 분리함으로써 데이터의 재사용을 높이고 하나의 데이터 소스를 이용하여 다양한 프리젠테이션을 가진 수 있는 XML을 이용한 웹기반의 학습지도안 활용 시스템을 제안한다. 이로써 XML을 이용한 학습지도안 문서의 한 번의 입력 작업으로 데이터의 변통 없이 XML의 적용만으로도, 교사와 학생의 요구에 맞는 여러 형태의 학습 자료로 활용할 수 있도록 만든다

For analyzing a huge amount of web pages available in the Internet, we need to extract the encoded information in web pages. In this paper, we propose a method to extract and convert web information from web pages into XML documents for multidimensional analysis. For extracting information from web pages, we propose two languages: one for describing web information extraction rules based on the object-oriented model, and another for describing regular expressions of HTML tag patterns to search for target information. For multidimensional analysis on XML documents, we propose a method for constructing an XML warehouse and various XML cubes from it like the way we do for relational data. Finally, we show the validness of our method through the application to US patent web pages.

The purpose of this study is to develop an XML based GUI that can search for satellite image information which is converted to XML data format and stored in the database server on the web, and modify and reuse data. In order to implement these functions efficiently, we used a DOM interface of XML that increases the efficiency of accessing the document structure. We used HTML and Java script programming to facilitate this interface. The system was applied to the management system of satellite images in the Research Institute of SFC at Keio University. Our results confirmed the technical functionalities.

인터넷 이용이 세계적으로 확산되면서 인터넷의 기반이라 할 수 있는 프로그래밍 언어도 날로 발전하고 있다. 그 중 기존 인터넷 표준 언어인 HTML이 XML이라는 차세대 언어로 대체되고 있다. 현재 XML은 전자상거래를 비롯해 DBMS, ERP, 전자도서관, 지식관리시스템, 정보검색시스템 등 거의 모든 분야에 걸쳐 활용되는 등 비즈니스 가치가 높아지고 있다. XML과 관련한 정보 기술업계의 대응에 대해 살펴봤다.

PDA나 휴대폰 같은 모바일 장치는 데스크 탑 컴퓨터에 비해 상대적으로 작은 스크린을 가진다 웹 문서는 일반적으로 데스크 탑 컴퓨터 스크린을 기준으로 작성되기 때문에 이러한 웹 문서가 모바일 장치에서 표현되기 위해서는 다수의 좌, 우 스크롤을 필요하게 된다. 이는 문서 내용의 독이성을 떨어뜨리며 사용자에게 많은 불편함을 준다. 본 논문에서는 XML로 작성된 웹 문서를 소형 스크린 장치에 적합하도록 변환하는 주석 기반 XML 변환 시스템을 제안한다. XML 변환 시스템은 분할 정보가 기술된 외부 주석을 이용하여 XML 문서를 소형 스크린에 알맞은 다수의 XML 문서로 분할하고, 분할된 XML 문서를 HTML 문서로 변환하는 과정으로 XML 문서 변환을 처리한다.

Web documents specified with HTML and CSS is displayed with high quality on the web browser. However, basically, any printed pages don't have the same quality of softcopy. The reason is HTML and CSS is not suit for printing. The XSL-FO(XSL-Formatting Object) is Formatting Language for imaging of web document and The PostScript is one of the most famous PDL(Page Description Language). To get high-quality pages, we propose the design of converter which translate XML-FO into PostScript format. Using the designed converter, we can get hardcopies with high quality.

XML and Web Services draw a lot of attention as standard technologies for data exchange and integration among heterogeneous platforms XML/A, which supports such technologies, is a SOAP based XML APl that facilitates data exchange between a client application and a data analysis engine through the Internet. The fact that the XML format is used for data exchange makes XML/A to be platform-independent. However. client application developers have to go through a tedious Job of treating the same type of XML documents fur downloading data from the server. Also, an XML query language is needed for extracting data from the XML documents sent by the server. In this paper, we present a high level client OLAP API, called DXML, for the client application developers in the windows environment to easily use the OLAP services of XML/A. XMLMD consists of properties and methods needed for OLAP application development. XMLMD is to XML/A what ADOMD is to OLEDB for OLAP. We also present a web OLAP cube browser that is developed using XMLMD. The browser display's data in various formats such as XML, HTML, Excel, and graph.
