청색인광 OLED의 재결합 영역에 관한 연구 (Study on recombination zone of blue phosphorescent OLED)

  • In this study, we have invastigated the recombination zone in the blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices with various partially doped structures. The basic device structure of the blue PHOLED was anode / hole injection layer (HIL) / hole transport layer (HTL) / emittingvastigated the recombination zone in the blue layer (EML) / hole blocking layer (HBL) / electron transport layer (ETL) / electron injection layer (EIL) / cathode. After the preparation of the blue PHOLED, the current density (J) - voltage (V) - luminance (L) and current efficiency characteristics were measured.

스퍼터링법을 이용한 OLED용 Al 음전극 제작 (Preparation of Al Cathode for OLED by Sputtering Method)

  • Al electrode for OLED was deposited by FTS (Facing Targets Sputtering) system which can deposit thin films with low substrate damage. The Al thin films were deposited on the cell (LiF/EML/HTL/Bottom electrode) as a function of working gas such as Ar or Ar+kr mixed gas. Also Al thin films were prepared with working gas pressure (1, 6 mTorr). The film thickness and I-V curve of Al/cell were measured and evaluated. In the results, when Al thin films were deposited using pure Ar gas, the turn-on voltage of Al/cell was about 11 V. And using the Ar:Kr($75\%:25\%$) mixed gas, the turn-on voltage of Al/cell decreased to about 7 V.

  • Four known sesquiterpenes, laurinterol (1), isolaurinterol (2), aplysinal (3) and aplysin (4) were isolated from the Korean red alga Laurencia okamurae off Cheju Island, Korea. Their structures were identified by comparison with the literature data. Compounds 1-4 showed potent cytotoxicity against A549, SK-OV-3, SKMEL-2, XF498, and HTl5 cell lines with $EC_{50}$ values ranging from 1.2 to 17.6 ${\mu}g/ml$.

  • We report improved efficiency in blue electrophosphorescent organic light emitting diodes by introducing an interfacial exciton blocking layer between light emitting layer (EML) and hole transport layer (HTL). Iridium(III) bis [(4,6-di-fluorophenyl)- pyridinato -N,C2']picolinate (FIrpic) was used as blue phosphorescent dopant and JHK6-3 with carbazole and electron transporting group as host and also as the interfacial layer, resulting in drastic increase in quantum efficiency.

  • Hyundai LCD Inc. and LUXELL Technologies Inc. have jointly developed a 1.5" passive matrix full color OLED display ($132{\times}RGB{\times}96$, 111ppi) with characteristics of enhanced contrast ratio using black layer technology. This prototype ECR OLED was fabricated with the structure of ITO/HIL/HTL/RGB EML/HBL/ETL/LiF/Black Layer/Cathode and showed significant improvement of contrast ratio comparing with that of non-filtered OLED as well as compatible with circular polarizer OLED

  • Indium Tim Oxide(ITO) thin film was prepared for TOLEDs by Facing Targets Sputtering(FTS) apparatus which can suppress the damage of organic layer due to the collisions of high energetic particles. In particular, ITO thin film was prepared with changing the distance between two targets for reduced the bombardment by high energetic particles such as ${\gamma}-electron$ or negative oxygen ions. The electrical and optical properties of ITO thin films as a function of distance of between two targets were measured. Additionally, the ITO thin films were prepared on the cell (cell : MgAg/LiF/EML/HTL/ bottom electrode) with distance of between two targets. And the I-V characteristics of ITO/cell was investigated.

  • The Al electrode for OLED was prepared by Facing Targets Sputtering(FTS) system which can reduce the damage of organic layer. The Al thin films were deposited on the cell (Lif/EML/HTL/Bottom electrode : ITO) for examination the current-voltage properties of OLED with magnetic field distribution between two faced targets. Thickness and current-voltage properties of Al thin films are measured by ${\alpha}-step$ and semiconductor parameter analyzer (HP4156A), respectively.

저가격 투명전극을 이용한 OLED의 제작 (Fabrication of OLED using low cost transparent conductive thin films)

  • Low cost TCO(Transparent Conductive oxide) thin films were prepared by 3" DC/RF magnetron sputtering systems. For the AZO preparation processes a 99.99% AZO target (Zn: 98 wt.%, $Al_2O_3$: 2 wt.%) was used. In order to verify feasibility of the AZO thin films to organic light emitting device (OLED) application, test organic light emitting device was fabricated based on AZO as TCO, TPD as hole transporting layer (HTL), Alq3 as both emitting layer (EML) and electron transporting layer (ETL), and aluminium as cathode, where the both ITO and AZO surfaces were treated using $O_2$ RF plasma. The I-V characteristics of the AZO/TPD/Alq3/Al OLEDs were evaluated. As the results, the performance of the OLEDs with AZO as transparent conducting anode could be useable.

  • Green-light emitting OLED with single layer of Alq3 and orange-light emitting OLED with double layer of rubrene/Alq3 as EML were fabricated and characterized comparatively. The two OLED devices were based on an anode of ITO, HTL of TPD, and cathode of Al, respectively. The green light emitting OLED was then prepared with Alq3 as both ETL and EML, while the orange-light emitting OLED was prepared with rubrene deposited on Alq3. All the component layers of the OLED devices were deposited by a thermal evaporation technique in vacuum. Photoluminescence characteristics of the EML layers were investigated. Electrolumiscence characteristics of the OLED devices were comparatively investigated.

Ag Nanowire의 기계적 압착을 통한 투명전극의 표면특성 변화에 대한 연구

  • 현재 플렉시블 전자기기에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 Ag nanowire는 ITO 대체용 투명전극 물질로 주목받고 있다. Ag nanowrie 투명전극은 면저항이 약 $300{\Omega}/sq$ 정도인 PEDOT 투명전극 보다 성능이 우수하지만, 표면에 나노와이어의 적층으로 100 nm 크기의 돌기들이 존재하여 균일한 표면특성이 요구되는 투명전극에 불리한 요인이 된다. Ag nanowire를 투명전극으로 사용하여 OLED를 제조할 경우, 40 nm~100 nm의 두께를 갖는 HTL층보다 투명전극 표면의 Rpv 값이 큰 경우 Leakage current가 증가하므로 이러한 돌기들을 감소시키는 것이 Ag nanowire를 투명전극에 적용할 수 있는 중요한 요건이 된다. 본 연구에서는 PET film 위에 Ag nanowire를 얇게 코팅하여 투과도 약 87%, 면저항 $20{\Omega}/sq$ 이하의 특성을 갖는 투명전극을 제조하였다. 그리고 Ag nanowire를 코팅한 투명전극의 표면 Roughness를 감소시키기 위해 Roll press를 이용하여 나노와이어를 물리적으로 압착하였고, 압착된 Ag nanowire 투명전극 위에 PEDOT를 코팅하여 전도도 및 표면 Roughness를 감소시키는 연구를 진행하였다.
