Study on the Quadcopter for Person Search using PID Control and HSV (PID 제어 및 HSV를 활용한 인명 수색용 쿼드콥터에 관한 연구)

  • Mountain accidents such as forest fires and missing people are increasing as hikers increase due to indoor activities restrictions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 incident. If a dangerous situation occurs at outside where rescue workers cannot reach, the search time for person can be reduced using a quadcopter. Considering this, in this paper, Multiwii is used to smoothly hover the quadcopter by setting optimized PID values of the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis (Yaw) according to the change in the inclination of the gas. In addition, after installing Open CV on Raspberry Pie, the camera uses HSV color space to filter the color such as the description of the person, and uses a thermal imaging camera to receive thermal sensing images in real time in environments where color extraction is difficult. As a result, it was confirmed that hovering was possible at a height of 2 to 8 m, blue extraction was possible at a height of 5 m, and heat detection was possible at a distance of less than 10 cm.

The Robust Skin Color Correction Method in Distorted Saturation by the Lighting (조명에 의한 채도 왜곡에 강건한 피부 색상 보정 방법)

  • A method for detecting a skin region on the image is generally used to detect the color information. However, If saturation lowered, skin detection is difficult because hue information of the pixels is lost. So in this paper, we propose a method of correcting color of lower saturation of skin region images by the lighting. Color correction process of this method is saturation image acquisition and low-saturation region classification, segmentation, and the saturation of the split in the low saturation region extraction and color values, the color correction sequence. This method extracts the low saturation regions in the image and extract the color and saturation in the region and the surrounding region to produce a color similar to the original color. Therefore, the method of extracting the low saturation region should be correctly preceding. Because more accurate segmentation in the process of obtaining a low saturation regions, we use a multi-threshold method proposed Otsu in Hue values of the HSV color space, and create a binary image. Our experimental results for 170 portrait images show a possibility that the proposed method could be used efficiently preprocessing of skin color detection method, because the detection result of proposed method is 5.8% higher than not used it.

Real-time Face Tracking Method Robust to Occlusion (가려짐에 강인한 실시간 얼굴추적 방 법)

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 얼굴 추적을 위하여 기존의 CamShift 알고리즘의 단점을 보완한 새로운 CamShift 알고리즘을 제안한다. 배경 내 추적 객체와 색상이 유사한 객체가 존재할 경우 기존 CamShift 알고리즘은 불안정한 추적을 보여준다. 이러한 문제점을 화소 단위로 거리정보를 획득할 수 있는 Kinect 의 깊이 정보와 HSV 색공간 기반의 피부색 후보영역을 추출하는 Skin Detection 알고리즘을 이용하여 색상분포만 이용하는 기존의 CamShift 의 단점을 보완한다. 또한 추적하던 객체가 사라지거나 가려짐이 발생할 경우에도 다시 추적할 수 있는 특징점 기반의 매칭 알고리즘을 통하여 차폐영역에 강인한 특성을 가지게 한다. 이러한 향상된 CamShift 알고리즘을 사람의 얼굴 추적에 적용함으로써 다양한 분야에 활용 가능한 강인한 얼굴추적 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 실험결과 제안하는 알고리즘은 기존의 추적 알고리즘인 TLD 보다 월등히 빠른 처리속도와 더 우수한 추적성능을 보여주었고, CamShift 보다 조금 느리지만 기존의 CamShift 가 가지고 있는 문제점들을 해결하였다.

  • This paper proposes a method of content-based image retrieval using region feature vector in order to overcome disadvantages of existing color histogram methods. The color histogram methods have a weak point that reduces accuracy because of quantization error, and more. In order to solve this, we convert color information to HSV space and quantize hue factor being purecolor information and calculate histogram and then use thus for retrieval feature that is robust in brightness, movement, and rotation. Also we solve an insufficient part that is the most serious problem in color histogram methods by dividing an image into sixteen regions and then comparing each region. We improve accuracy by edge and DC of DCT transformation. As a result of experimenting with 1,000 color images, the proposed method has showed better precision than the existing methods.

Real-time Face Tracking Method using Improved CamShift (향상된 캠쉬프트를 사용한 실시간 얼굴추적 방법)

  • This paper first discusses the disadvantages of the existing CamShift Algorithm for real time face tracking, and then proposes a new Camshift Algorithm that performs better than the existing algorithm. The existing CamShift Algorithm shows unstable tracking when tracing similar colors in the background of objects. This drawback of the existing CamShift is resolved by using Kinect’s pixel-by-pixel depth information and the Skin Detection algorithm to extract candidate skin regions based on HSV color space. Additionally, even when the tracking object is not found, or when occlusion occurs, the feature point-based matching algorithm makes it robust to occlusion. By applying the improved CamShift algorithm to face tracking, the proposed real-time face tracking algorithm can be applied to various fields. The results from the experiment prove that the proposed algorithm is superior in tracking performance to that of existing TLD tracking algorithm, and offers faster processing speed. Also, while the proposed algorithm has a slower processing speed than CamShift, it overcomes all the existing shortfalls of the existing CamShift.

Implementation of Image Retrieval System using Complex Image Features (복합적인 영상 특성을 이용한 영상 검색 시스템 구현)

  • Presently, Multimedia data are increasing suddenly in broadcasting and internet fields. For retrieval of still images in multimedia database, content-based image retrieval system is implemented in this paper that user can retrieve similar objects from image database after choosing a wanted query region of object. As to extract color features from query image, we transform color to HSV with proposed method that similarity is obtained it through histogram intersection with database images after making histogram. Also, query image is transformed to gray image and induced to wavelet transformation by which spatial gray distribution and texture features are extracted using banded autocorrelogram and GLCM before having similarity values. And final similarity values is determined by adding two similarity values. In that, weight value is applied to each similarity value. We make up for defects by taking color image features but also gray image features from query image. Elevations of recall and precision are verified in experiment results.

  • 최근 자율주행자동차에 대한 관심이 증가함에 따라 교통 상황을 인식하는 방법에 대한 연구도 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 특히 교통신호등의 인식은 치명적인 결과를 야기하는 교통사고와 밀접하게 연관된다는 점에서 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 비전 시스템을 기반으로 한 교통신호등 인식 방법을 제안한다. 차선, 표지판 등과는 다르게 교통신호등은 빛을 발하는 특징이 있으며 그 모양과 형태 또한 규격화 되어 있다. 이러한 특징 중 색상과 형태 특징을 이용하여 두 단계의 추출과정을 거쳐 교통신호등을 인식한다. 먼저 HSV 색 공간에서 적색, 녹색, 주황색의 빛을 발하는 영역을 찾아낸 뒤, 신호의 원형 특징을 이용해 가로, 세로 사이즈와 크기로 신호의 후보를 추출한다. 다음, 신호등의 검은 박스 영역을 찾기 위해 추출한 신호 후보군의 주변부가 검정색인지를 확인한다. 최종적으로 신호등의 박스 부분을 검출하여 신호를 발하는 위치를 기반으로 신호를 인식한다. 실험결과 많은 계산량을 요구하는 기계학습을 사용하지 않고도 실시간 처리와 높은 인식률로 교통 신호를 인식할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

ROI Detection by Genetic Algorithm Based on Probability Map (확률맵 기반 유전자 알고리즘에 의한 ROI 검출)

  • This paper propose a genetic method based on probability map to detect region of the lips on a natural image with the faces. The method has many solutions in order to detect regions such as the lips instead of one optimal solution of existing methods. To do this, it represents a pair of spatial coordinates as a chromosome, and introduces genetic operations like conservation interval, the number of generations and non-overlapping selection. By using the probability map of the HS in HSV color space, it increases adaptability to similar color that is a property of genetic algorithm. In our experiments, the optimal value of the important parameter $\beta$ was analyzed, which was used as the condition of an ending function and affected performance of the proposed algorithm. Also the algorithm was analyzed on what performance it has when its mating methods are different. The results of the experiment showed that our algorithm could be flexibly adapted for detecting other ROIs.

  • In this paper, we propose a probability map based genetic algorithm to detect lips from portrait image. The existing genetic algorithm used to get an optimal solution is modified in order to get multiple optimal solutions for lips detection. Each individual consists of two chromosomes to represent coordinates x, y in space. Also the algorithm introduce a preserving zone in the population, a modified uniform crossover, a selection without individual duplication. Using probability map of H, 5 components, the proposed algorithm has adaptability in the segmentation of objects with similar colors. In experiments, we analyzed relationships of primary parameters and found that the algorithm can apply to the detection of other ROIs easily

Visual Touchless User Interface for Window Manipulation (윈도우 제어를 위한 시각적 비접촉 사용자 인터페이스)

  • Recently, researches for user interface are remarkably processed due to the explosive growth of 3-dimensional contents and applications, and the spread class of computer user. This paper proposes a novel method to manipulate windows efficiently using only the intuitive motion of hand. Previous methods have some drawbacks such as burden of expensive device, high complexity of gesture recognition, assistance of additional information using marker, and so on. To improve the defects, we propose a novel visual touchless interface. First, we detect hand region using hue channel in HSV color space to control window using hand. The distance transform method is applied to detect centroid of hand and curvature of hand contour is used to determine position of fingertips. Finally, by using the hand motion information, we recognize hand gesture as one of predefined seven motions. Recognized hand gesture is to be a command to control window. In the proposed method, user can manipulate windows with sense of depth in the real environment because the method adopts stereo camera. Intuitive manipulation is also available because the proposed method supports visual touch for the virtual object, which user want to manipulate, only using simple motions of hand. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed method is verified via an application based on our proposed interface.
