Effects of Corporate Image on HMR Brand Image, HMR Product Attitude and HMR Behavioral Intention (기업 이미지가 HMR 브랜드 이미지와 HMR 제품태도 및 HMR 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to verify the effects of corporate image on HMR (Home Meal Replacement) brand image, HMR product attitude and HMR behavioral intention. Using a convenience sampling method, the data were collected from those who have bought HMR in Seoul area, Korea. After a total of 350 responses were collected, 342 were used for the analyses. Both standard and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted to test the hypotheses. The results are as follows. First, corporate image and HMR brand image had an effect on product attitude of HMR. Second, corporate image of HMR significantly impacted brand image of HMR. Third, brand image of HMR mediated the relationship between corporate image and behavioral intention. Fourth, product attitude of HMR had an effect on behavioral intention of HMR. These findings provide practical implication and marketing strategies for researchers and marketers regarding corporate image and brand image in the HMR context.

Effects of Brand Image on Purchase Intention and Brand Loyalty: Focused on Mediating Role of the Brand Trust (HMR 브랜드 이미지가 구매의도 및 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향: 브랜드 신뢰의 매개역할을 중심으로)

  • The purposes of this study were to verify the effects of HMR (Home Meal Replacement) brand image on purchase intention and brand loyalty. In addition, the mediating role of brand trust was also examined between purchase intention and brand loyalty. This survey was conducted with those who have bought HMR in Seoul and Kyonggi area, Korea, using a convenience sampling method. After a total of 300 responses were collected, 275 were used for the analyses. Both standard and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted to test the hypotheses. The results are as follows. First, it was found that emotional image had an effect on purchase of HMR but that social image did not have an effect on purchase of HMR. Second, purchase intention of HMR significantly impacted brand loyalty. Third, brand trust of HMR was found to mediate the relationship between purchase intention and brand loyalty of HMR. These findings provide practical implication for researchers and marketer regarding relationship marketing strategy in the HMR context.

The Effect of Brand Trust of Home Meal Replacement on Repurchasing in Online Shopping

  • Purpose - This study aims to investigate the effect of brand image and trust of a home meal replacement (HMR) industry on customer satisfaction and repurchase during online shopping. Research design, data, and methodology - With 217 questionnaires, this study was conducted by AMOS 20.0, and the Structural Equation Model (SEM) as statistical method was used for examining the hypotheses in this study. Factors such as brand image and brand trust in customer shopping for HMR products online were tested, and relationships between satisfaction and repurchase were studied. Results - Brand image and brand trust in terms of online shopping for HMR were found to affect satisfaction significantly; in addition, the path where satisfaction leads to repurchase was found to be significant. However, brand image and brand trust for HMR in online shopping differed depending on customer age groups. The path-coefficients from brand image of HMR in online shopping to satisfaction were more significant in the older age group; meanwhile, the path-coefficient from brand trust to satisfaction was significant in the younger age group. Conclusions - Results of the study suggested the importance of the attributes for buying HMR products online and provided meaningful implications of difference between age groups when they choose the products.

A Study on User Evaluation about Package Design of Home Meal Replacement (가정편의식 패키지 디자인에 대한 사용자 평가 연구)

  • While one person household and nuclear family have been increasing, supermarkets began to launch home meal replacement(HMR) promotion. Each brand competes over various types of HMR such as box lunch. In particular, the sales of HMR have been increasing due to one-person households. Experts predicted HMR market will be increased in the future as well. This study presents design evaluation with regards to HMR package design for elders. The methods of this study are: First, research literature review on senior society and analyse the design for both domestic and foreign HMR products. Second, survey on product design for evaluation was conducted. Third, user's evaluation survey was conducted on elders. As a result, containers mostly came in cup or box shaped package designs. The package provided both still and illustration image of food. The HMR design for elders are recommended as follows: first, HMR should be service designed for users. Second, the design should be for elders as well. Third, the design should be empathetic and abundant. For user-interface, the packaging material shall not be slippery and the shape of grip should be considered thoroughly for the elder's design.

  • In this study, we investigated subjective perceptions of one retailer's PB products for large retailers by applying the Q methodology to examine subjective trends of consumers who purchased and experienced PB products at home. In this study, we examine how HMR-type PB products developed and released by large retailers according to the demographically changing social structure represent the meaning and subjective acceptance of PB products in a single licensee through Q methodological studies. The purpose of this paper is to propose various direction and improvement plan of food product development and release for one license of large distribution company in the future. Based on these research problems, five types of type analysis results were derived. Specifically, the first type (N = 5): Brand image trust type, the second type (N = 5): NB product preference type, the third type(N = 2): Easy cooking preference type, and fourth type (N = 2): Pursuing taste for price type and fifth type (N = 2): Quantitative pursuit for price type.
