Recently, Practicing of ghost surgery and duty of informed consent of doctors have become a big issue in the medical dispute and lawsuits. The ground of admitting the informed consent and the agreement(self-determination of patients) can be based on the dignity of man and the right to pursue his happiness guaranteed under Article 10 of the constitution in theory. However there are no explicit legal regulations on the duty of the informed consent and there is no substantive legal enactment on the informed consent, but there is a collision between self-determination of patients and the discretionary power of doctors. If the discretionary power on the duty of the informed consent was extended it may result in the infringement of the right of surgical patients, so called arbitrary medical treatment. Relating to this issue, New Jersey Supreme Court held that a patient has the right to determine not only whether surgery is to be performed on him, but also who shall perform it. Moreover it held that a surgeon who operates without the patient's consent engages in the unauthorized touching of another and, thus, commits a battery'. But there are no ghost surgery cases adopting battery theory in Korea, and professional negligence has been considered rather than the battery, regarding an absence of hostile intent to injure patient. Supreme Court of Korea held that a doctor who operates a medical procedure without the patient's valid prior consent based on wrong diagnosis commits professional negligence resulting in injury, and the patient's invalid consent do not preclude wrongfulness'. However, if a health care provider conducts a completely non-consensual treatment or substitute surgeon without consent, the action should be plead in battery, not negligence, but if a health care provider violate his duty of care in obtaining the consent of the patient by failing to disclosure all relevant information (risks) that a reasonable person would deem significant in making a decision to have the procedure, the action should be plead in negligence, not battery. Therefore, the scope of patients' self-determination can be protected by stating clearly the scope of the duty of the informed consent and the exemption of the informed consent legislatively, it is considered that it is valid to legislate the limitation of the discretionary power.
The purpose of this study is to examine the academic genealogy of Hong Chan-yoo. Hong Chan-yoo was born in Majeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and started to learn writing at the village school. Around 20 years old, he widened his scope of academic study. This study is a part of Hong Chan-yoo's life. It reviews the relationship between Hong Chan-yoo and Jeong Byeong-jo, Lim Gyu, Jung In-boh, Lim Heung-soon and Kim Tae-sun whom he met at the hometown village school and Mijwa village school, and afterwards going up to the capital since his birth. In particular, the emphasis of this study is on examining the teachers of Mijwa and Mijwa village school because it is an important factor in clarifying the line of Hong Chan-yoo's studies. Mijwa village school confirmed that the academic genealogy of Majeon was the line of Misu Huh Mok. Next, from the activities after going up to the capital, it revealed that encountering Jung In-boh and Lim Gyu affected expanding the scope of study and facing reality without being bound to the former form. It was found that meeting Lim Heung-soon and Kim Tae-sun around Bongik-dong became the opportunity to enter the field but it needs to be reviewed more closely.

Tunnel lighting design and operation are both regulated based on luminance in and out of Korea these days. However, domestic tunnel lighting is operated by internal lighting depending on external brightness by using an illuminometer applying the conversion factor on luminance. The purpose of tunnel lighting is to alleviate the visual shock occurring from the rapid change from external brightness to internal brightness when entering a tunnel. However, when looking at the tunnels operated based on an illuminometer, it is not a system where the driver can measure the brightness within his or her viewing angle when entering the tunnel. It is general to install and operate the illuminometer on the roof of an administrative office near the tunnel; however, this method is not structured to connect with the internal lighting by checking the brightness of the viewing scope of the driver, thus is not structured to properly apply the viewing conditions of the driver. Rather, it should be in a method for extracting the luminance value within the viewing scope of the driver pursuant to tunnel lighting standards and in connection with internal lighting. This research seeks to find the difference between operations based on luminance and operations based on intensity of Illuminance in road tunnels through field measuring, and to suggest the necessity of operating based on luminance with the resulting value.
Quinean "ontology" mislead us because it has been used ambiguously even in his single article. It can mean what there is, ie. ontological states of affairs, on what there is, ie. a study of them, or on on what there is, ie. meta-ontology. So it is natural to be confused when we try to fully understand what does Quine do by talking about ontological commitment and criterion of it. We will discriminate these ontologies, and clarity the scope and the task of ontology as a discipline. Ontology is on what there is, meta-ontology is a study on ontology. Ontological commitment is a kind of ontological assertion within ontology, the criterion of ontological commitment is located in meta-ontological level. As a result of this clarification, we can remove some obstacles to get a good grip on Quinean criterion of ontological commitment. Also, we are able to recognize ontological descent, the way by which Quinean substantive ontology proceed.
Harold Pinter's One for the Road(1984) is a play about violence. Nicholas, who appears to be the manager of a place, interrogates Victor, Nicky, and Victor's wife Gila in a room for one day from morning to night. There is no direct physical violence in this play. But hints about the atrocities that took place outside the stage make the audience guess the violence and cruelty. Violence, which is not seen as such, is the central theme of the play. One for the road is worth reading as a resistance to breaking the mirror of global ideology, not as it deals with violent events confined to Turkey. The problem which Pinter had in mind, in particular, is that the United States plays a leading role in producing world-class ideologies, and that Britain is involved in collusion with the United States in cultivating such ideological fantasies, both abroad and at home. This thesis analyzes the contrasting reactions of each character in the play based on this social context. In particular, the conflicting reactions of the characters on the system are the most important conflict in the drama. Nicolas is a manager who moves on the system without seeing the truth. Victor and his family, on the other hand, do not move within the same ideology as Nicholas. This paper will take a look at what their strategies of resistance is and how they are revealed in the work. In fact, Nicholas appears split. Nicholas seemingly reacted decisively to the interpellation of the system. He expresses his belief and respect for the legitimacy of his actions. However, he has repeatedly sought the respect and love of Victor. Nicholas is now swaying. The theme that Nicholas presents consciously by grabbing at his own sway is 'Patriotism.' But this fantasy splits through Victor's silence and death demands. Therefore, the questions to be answered are: So why does Nicolas appear to be torn apart in a system that directs violence? But why is he forced to assimilate into the system? What other figures imply? To answer these questions, this thesis will take Slavoj Zizek's view of ideology. On the other hand, there are previous studies that read the system of violence in One for the road from the Althusser's perspective. Surely, this play explores the role of Ideological State Apparatus. However, from the point of view of Althusser, it is not possible to read Nicholas's division and the point of resistance seen by Victor's family. Pinter does not limit the scope of the ideological system as a closed one that regenerates ideologies, but secures the domain of main body resistance and struggle. On the other hand, there are already several domestic theses that read Pinter's work in Zizek's perspective. But these theses are mainly focused on analysis of Mountain Language. What this thesis would suggest is that there is a potential for an ethical figure of Zizek to be considered in One for the Road.
Objectives : The paper seeks to delve into a study of smallpox, specifically as one of the most representative contagious diseases during the Chosun era and how it was treated during that time. The lack of traditional medical texts that deal with smallpox has led this paper to dive into Duchanggyeongheombang. Methods : Everything related to edition and copy, and the author was organized based on pre-existing studies. The copy that is assumed as the original copy was considered and studied. The book was compared to and reviewed with Donguibogam, and the differences between the book and Korean translation were given attention as well. Results : Park Jin-hee is assumed to have authored Duchanggyeongheombang, and it is like that was had access to texts published by the state, one of which includes Donguibogam. He utilized the periods with smallpox outbreaks as his frame of study and put together a series of treatment for different symptoms. To this, he attached various medical charts, and added Korean translation for higher usability. In his book, he placed emphasis on spleen and stomach, but when needed, he did not shy away from using cold and coolness herbs. Conclusions : Duchanggyeongheombang was influenced partially by Donguibogam, but the book was given new life through the author Park Jin-hee's edition. Medical charts were added to increase its usability, and Korean translation was provided for wider audience. Its scope of prescription is very wide, and it provided the reasonings behind its medical judgements based on actual clinical studies instead of being tied down to traditions or taboos.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the modernity characteristics of the traditional housing in Seoul 1920s to 1930s setting the criterion for analyses based on a Korean architect, Park, Kil-Ryong 'Housing improvement theory' about 'the Housing Plan of the Middle Area in Choseon'. The architect Park, Kil-Ryong expressed 'Housing Improvement Theory' positively founded on having a deep knowledge of traditional architecture. At his early working stage in 1928, he announced 'Housing Improvement Theory' about 'the Housing Plan of the Middle Area in Choseon' from the paper titled 'An Inquiry into the Housing of the Middle Area in Choseon', It is inferred that his paper quite affected the modern changes of traditional housing of those days. As the results of the study, even though the main floored room still keeps the symbolical and central position in traditional housing, the size of that is designed to be smaller than before. The room on the opposite side is generally designed widely as the scope more than 2 'KAN' and shows the features of expansion and division according to functions. By interchanging the location of the kitchen, the inner room as the main living space souths in the front of the house. The kitchen is designed as fitting size and separated from the space of working, linking, setting the table, keeping things and others. The bathroom is built in the house and then connected to the corridor. Each space is effectively planned for the best location in the house as considering lightening and ventilation.
Objectives : The paper studies the epistemology of Wind Herbs, its origin, its drug category and medicinal property, attempted to understand Lidongyuan's framework of mechanism of internal damage and treatment principle, and why he used it from his viewpoint. Methods : His suggestion was based on this treatment of internal damage suing wind herbs. Therefore, it cannot be viewed as a simple herbological concept. It rather displays the characteristics of medication based on clinical pathology. Therefore, wind herb should be comprehensively understood from the understanding of the mechanism of internal damage. That is why the paper studied around Piweilun, where Lidongyuan's concept on internal damage is established with finality. Additionally, the paper also referred to Wanghaogu's Tangyenbencao, a text that comprehensibly assembles the authors of Zhangyuans, Yixuqiyan's and Yishuixuepi's knowledge o herbology. Results : The origin of wind herb is 'herbs that uses the unique nature of wind in treatment of disease.' Medication unfolds yang qi, and this signifies the Shengyang function. This means that it starts from the lower energizer yin aspect, which is the beginning point of yang qi, and unfolds to the whole body through upbearing and effusion. Instead of producing yang qi directly similar to pungent, sweet and warm formula, however, it contributes to the achievement of the final purpose of the way of Shengyang through forming a ascending mechanism in the whole body via yin aspect's yang qi upbearing and effusion. Conclusions : Wind herb is within the scope of clinical herbology selected by Lidongyuan, for the purpose of achieving comprehensive clinical purposes, in order to treat internal damage. In this way, wind herb is distinguished from the application of other medicines that are limited in usage depending on Qiwei.

Philosophers Of aeBthetics have tended to limit their Suhject to include only objects Of art. In contrast to art objects, landscapes include elements of both art and nature, and the aesthetic experiences of landscape are ordinarty ones. Thus, the theoretical alternatives, that cannot be like the traditional aesthetic dogma of art, must be explored. Jay Appleton's theory is the firsts attempt to develop a comprehensive theory of landscape aesthetics. He concentrates on the question 'what do we like about landscape and why do we like it ' He takes the assumption that the aesthetic experience of landscape is pleasurable or satisfying, and suggests the biologically oriented theory, called 'prospect-refuge theory.'Although his theory is stimulating and highly speculative, it depends on the 'aesthetic attitude' theory of Kantian thought. His theory can be criticized for its biologically deterministic nature and its reductionism To respond to Appleton's shortcomings, that is, to resolve the conflict between biological and cultural explanations of aesthetic experience of landscape, Steven Bourassa tries to combine biological, cultural, and personal modes in a comprehensive paradigm for research in landscape aesthetics. This tripartite paradigm seems to promise to be meaningful if helping to pose important questions as well as in. avoiding conceptual errors about aesthetic domain of landscape. However, Bourassa's theory fails to integrate such three separate kinds of moder In the final analysis both Appleton and Bourassa present same succeases in expanding the scope of aesthetics to embrace landscape. Most important for a theory in landscape aesthetics must be its ability to enlarge our awareness of the aesthetic domain and its sound logic and evidence to criticize our problematic beliefs about he aesthetic idea of landscape.

Nietzsche devoted his whole life to disseminating the knowledge that the future of humankind depends on removing these old ethics. This article traces Nietzsche's reflections on the ethical event of responsibility and provides an overview of the purview and scope contained in the meaning covered by the notion of responsibility in his philosophy beyond common norms and values.
