Robust Servo Design and Application for Optical Disk Drive using Robust Control Theory: QFT vs. H_inf (광 디스크 서보 설계를 위한 강건 제어 이론의 적용 및 평가: QFT vs. $H_{\infty}$)

  • In this paper, the various uncertainties, which are generated in working of an optical disk drive, are discussed in details and the robust servo design considering the uncertainties are discussed. First, the classification of the uncertainties and the modeling process including that are treated. Then, the robust servo designs using QFT and $H_{\infty}$ theory are performed. Finally, the designed servo loops realized by DSP are applied to the real system. From these experiments, we proved that the robust servo design using QFT and $H_{\infty}$ have a good performance and a good robust stability when it compared with the conventional servo loop.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a method for designing robust positioning control systems of a flexible arm using $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory. We begin with a description of the flexible arm based on the model identification method and discuss the derivation of the model uncertainty. The validity of the obtained model is confirmed experimentally Next, a robust controller is designed based on the $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory by which we can improve robustness of the entire system. On this occasion, we also propose a general plant formation suitable to $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed design method is verified through experimentation.

  • This paper aims at deriving an equivalent finite dimensional discrete-time system for $H{\infty}$ type problem for sampled-data control systems. A widely used approach is based on the lifting technique, but it needs somewhat complicate computation. Instead, this paper derives an equivalent finite-dimensional discrete-time system directly from a description of the sampled-data system which is achieved via a closed-loop expression of the worst-case intersample disturbance.

  • A new model which contains the dynamics of the motor system and the kinematics of the timing belt system is derived for an inverted pendulum system in FAPA Lab. Generalized standard compensator configuration(SCC) which contains the variable design parameters Kl, K2, .., K5 is proposed so that any desired design specification can be achieved. The robust controller which has robust property against the influence of sensor noise, system parameter variation and model uncertainty is designed minimizing the H$_{\infty}$-norm of transfer function from exogenous input to controlled output. The method of solving the two Riccati equations in state space and determining the controller uses on iteration method where the unique stabilizing solution to two algebraic Riccati equation must be positive definite and the spectral radius of their product less than .gamma.$^{2}$. Some cases are derived by varying the design parameter for simulation on a digital computer and experimenting the H$_{\infty}$- controller on an analog computer. The design parameters of controller which satisfies the desired control specification is selected on the basis of the simulation result and experimenting. The reasonableness and validity of the simulation and the robustness of the controller is established.d.

  • 본 논문은 계통연계형 태양광발전 시스템의 Power Conditioning System의 성능 테스트를 위한 태양광 시뮬레이터의 제어기 최적 설계에 관한 내용이다. 태양광 시뮬레이터 기술의 핵심은 정확한 에너지원의 모델링과 빠르고 안정적인 전력증폭기 제어기술에 있다. 종래의 제어기인 비례 적분제어기를 사용하는 과정에서 비례 적분 제어기 특유의 응답지연 특성으로 시뮬레이터의 동적 특성을 완벽하게 구현할 수 없기에, 응답속도가 빠르고 안정적인 제어기법인 $H_{\infty}$제어 이론을 적용하였다. 태양광 시뮬레이터의 제어기 성능평가를 위해서 태양광 시뮬레이터의 출력을 결정 하는 DC Power Amplifier의 성능실험을 하였다. DC Power Amplifier를 정전압에서 부하의 투입/제거시 비례-적분 제어기와 $H_{\infty}$제어기의 응답속도와 변동전압의 크기를 비교하여 제어기의 성능을 비교하였다.

  • The objective of this paper is to design a robust controller for a flexible robot arm manipulator using LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) theory, and confirm its effectiveness through experimentation. We first describe a modeling Process of the flexible arm in order to get a mathematical model, and then discuss how to approximately obtain the uncertainty of the model for robust control. As to the control system design, we adopt the LMI-based H$_{\infty}$ synthesis algorithm which has the merits of eliminating the regularity restrictions attached to the Riccati-based methods. As a result of this, we can cope with the parameter variation (that is, modeling uncertainty) due to the tip-load variation. Finally we confirm the effectiveness of the controller through experiment and simulation.

  • In this paper the control methods for the synchronous generator is designed based on the two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) control methods which can safisty the command following property and Robust control property at the same time. The power systems is reduced to one machine infinite-bus system. Robust stability of the proposed power system stabilizer is checked through the simulation considering the circumstance which can happen in real situation.

  • 플랜트의 모델 없이 주파수 응답만으로 안정도와 여러 성능(이득여유, 위상여유, $H_{\infty}$ 여유)을 만족하는 1차 보상기 설계 이론이 최근에 발표되었다[1]. 그중 안정도를 만족하는 제어기의 셋을 구하는 것의 수치해를 [6]에서 제시하였고, 본 논문에서는 그것을 확장하여 여러 성능을 동시에 만족하는 셋을 구하는 알고리즘을 제시하고 그것을 이용한 MATLAB용 설계 도구를 소개한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 발전기에 적용된 전력계통안정화장치(Power System Stabilizer)의 적용사례를 분석한다. 전력계통안정화장치에 적용된 알고리즘은 Lead-Lag 제어기가 있고, 현대 제어이론에 바탕을 둔 LQR, LQG, $H_{\infty}$, 슬라이딩모드 제어기, 비선형궤환제어기가 있다. 그 외에 퍼지제어기, 뉴럴 제어기, 진화연산제어기등이 있다. 이중에 전력계통안정화장치의 제어알고리즘에 대하여 대표적인 사례를 파악하고져 한다.

Optimal Design of a Continuous Time Deadbeat Controller (연속시간 유한정정제어기의 최적설계)

  • Deadbeat property is well established in digital control system design in time domain. But in continuous time system, deadbeat is impossible because of it's ripples between sampling points inspite of designs using the related digital control system design theory. But several researchers suggested delay elements. A delay element is made from the concept of finite Laplace Transform. From some specifications such as internal model stability, physical realizations as well as finite time settling, unknown coefficents and poles in error transfer functions with delay elements can be calulted so as to satisfy these specifications. For the application to the real system, robustness property can be added. In this paper, error transfer function is specified with 1 delay element and robustness condition is considered additionally. As the criterion of the robustness, a weighted sensitive function's $H_{infty}$ norm is used. For the minimum value of the criterion, error transfer function's poles are calculated optimally. In this sense, optimal design of the continuous time deadbeat controller is obtained.
