Aeromagnetic Interpretation of the Southern and Western Offshore Korea (한국 서남근해에 대한 항공자력탐사 해석)

  • Analysis of the aeromagnetic data aquired by US Navy in the year 1969 permits us to predict a new sedimentary basin, Heugsan Basin, south of the known Gunsan Basin in Block Ⅱ. The basin appears to consist of three sub-basins trending NNW-SSE. The results of our analysis provide not only an independent assessment of the Gunsan Basin, but also new important information on the tectonic origin and mechanism for the two basins as well as for the entire region. The basin forming tectonic style is interpreted as rhombochasm associated with double overstepped left-lateral wrench faults. From the magnetic evidence, a few NE-SW trending major onshore faults are extended to the study area. We also interpreted the nature of the faults to be left-lateral wrenches. This new gross structural style is consistent with the results of recent Yeongdong Basin analysis by Lee. The senses of fault movement are also supported by the paleomagnetic evidence that the Philippine Sea had experienced an 80-degree clockwise rotation since the Eocene. Based on a 2 $\frac{1}{2}$ model study the probable maximum thickness of the sediments in the Gunsan Basin is approximately 7500 meters. We believe that the new Heugsan Basin was left unidentified because a high velocity layer may be overlying the basin. Because the overall structural configuration of the Heugsan Basin appears to be favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation, a detailed airborne magnetic survey is recommended in the area in order to verify the magnetic expression of this thick basin. A detailed subsequent marine gravity survey is also recommended in order to delineate the sedimentary section and to acquire supplemental data to the magnetic method only if an overlying high velocity layer is confirmed. Otherwise a high energy source seismic survey may be more effective.

  • 이 연구에서 환원성 황 화합물의 시간적, 공간적 분포 패턴들이 매립과정에 크게 영향 받는 지역에서 조사되었다. 이러한 측정 연구에 기초하여 환원성 황 화합물이 이산화황으로 변환되는 광화학적 작용 규모를 광화학적 상자모델을 이용하여 평가하였다 이 연구는 2004년 3월에서 12월까지 대기 중 환원성 황 화합물 농도를 군산시의 매립장 내부와 인근에서 평가했다. 환원성 황 화합물의 분포가 일반적으로 $H_2S$, DMS, 또는 DMDS들이 대부분인 반해, 그 패턴들은 시료채취 지역과 기간에 따라 다양했다. 군산 매립장에서 $H_2S$, DMS는 연구기간 동안 가장 높은 농도를 나타냈다. 이 지점에서 DMS의 농도는 매립 과정 뿐만 아니라 해양 오염원에 영향을 받는다고 사료되었다. 모든 환원성 황 화합물이 아황산가스의 광화학적 부산물에 대한 상대적 기여도를 비교할 때, 세가지 환원성 황 화합물(DMDS, $H_2S$, 그리고 DMS)이 가장 중요한 물질로 조사되었다.

  • The Guillain-Barre Sydrome (GBS) is post-infectious autoimmune disease and it could be caused by auto-antibodies produced after infections. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is one of rare cause of GBS and known to be associated with antibody to galactocerebroside (GalC) which is a major neutral glycolipid constituent of myelin. We report a case of GBS with immunoglobulin M GalC antibody after M. pneumoniae infection.

  • The purpose of this paper is investigation on the consumption and the nutrition of marketing fermented milk in Korea. The objectives were selected randomly from 3 cities in Jeonbug province, Jeonju, Iri, and Gunsan, and they were grouped into students, housewives, patients, and officers from July to September 1980. (male: 591, Female; 673, total: 1,264). Findings in detail are summarized in Table 1.15. Among the many kinds of marketing fermented milk in Korea, products from the five manufacturers, whose numbers of Lactic acid acid bacteria were standarized, were sampled and divided into groups, A,B,C,D,E. The constituents of nutrition of them were analyzed by HPLC and AAS.

  • 군산복합화력발전소의 냉각수 취수부는 부지 여건상 수로의 길이가 짧고, 좌안이 좁아진 후 단차가 있는 형태에 직각으로 흐름방향이 전환되면서 CWP로 유입되는 구조로 설계되었기 때문에 CWP 운영에 불리한 수리현상이 예상되어 수치모의와 수리모형실험을 통한 사전검증이 필요하였다. 이에 $FLOW-3D^(R)$를 이용한 3차원 수치모의와 축척 1/10의 수리모형실험을 통하여 면밀히 검토한 결과 CWP 진입부의 깊은 수심이 흐름을 감세하여 0.3m/s 이하의 유속분포를 나타내 균등취수에 문제가 없는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • Damage Cases of variously type are reported that the ground subsidence is caused by the underground cavities at structure and construction works in lime stone or abandoned zone. A underground cavities by direct for zone having an effect on structure have been filled with cement agents. But this measure is urgently needed in materials and work methods, because ground water pollution at water down fillings and flow out, ground disturb at high participle, damage of farms and fishery. The research confirm application of filling method and filling materials of environmentally friendly and economical by Hi-FA new materials have both liquidity and viscosity from case reinforcement in APT site, Gunsan.

Classification of Fungi Isolated from Telephones (전화기(電話機)에서 분리(分離)한 진균(眞菌)의 분류(分類))

  • During the period of June 15, 1978 to February 28, 1979 fungi were isolated from 101 public and home telephones in 6 different cities and classified. Total 203 isolates were obtained and classified into 8 genera and 6 species, however 44 of the isolates were unidentified. Penicillium spp. were frequently found. Forty isolates were derivated from coffee shops, 51 from street public telephones, 35 from stores, 26 from offices and 19 from homes. Also 27 were from Seoul, 30 from Daegu, 46 from Gunsan, 82 from Chunju and 18 from Jaeju. Twenty-seven were isolated in summer and 174 in winter. From the above observations, it is concluded that the transimitters are heavily colonized with various species of fungi and some of them are pathogens. The rates of colonization appeared to be various by locations and seasons.

  • An investigation on the floras of Osik island and its neighboring two islands, 13km west of Gunsan, showed that there were a total of 305 kinds belonging to 81 families, 132 genus, 259 species, 42 varieties, 4 formas. Of the 305 kinds collected 213 kinds were herb and 92 kinds were woody plant. Seven species of evergreen broad-leaved trees including Euonymus japonica T., Eurya japonica T. and Elaeagnus macrophylla T. etc. are listed in the Norae-sum and Ga-do. The vegetations of Norae-sum and Ga-do were more favorable than that of Osik-do which vegetation was destructed by human inerferences. Coastal plants in these areas were about 30 species. It is interest that the floras of these areas were very similar to that of Gogunsangun-do (r=0.97) inspite of adjacency to inland area.

  • In this paper, we obtain a mathematical model of a gas turbine control system from experimental data. The gas turbine in Gunsan power plant is selected as controlled system. The recursive least square algorithm is used to model the plant. For parameter estimation, plant is assumed as second order system and forgetting factor is 0.98 and the period of input and output signal period is 1sec. As a result, input and output characteristics of real system and modeling are identified.
