With the development of semantic web technologies in information retrieval area, the necessity for thesaurus is recently increasing along with internet lexicons. A thesaurus is the combination of classification and a lexicon, and is the topic map of knowledge structure expressing relations among concepts(terms) subject to human knowledge activities such as learning and research using formally organized and controlled index terms for clarifying the context of superordinate and subordinate concepts. However, although thesaurus are regarded as essential tools for controlling and standardizing terms and searching and processing information efficiently, we do not have a Korean thesaurus for geology. To build a thesaurus, we need standardized and well-defined guidelines. The standardized guidelines enable efficient information management and help information users use correct information easily and conveniently. The present study purposed to build a thesaurus system with terms used in geology. For this, First, we surveyed related works for standardizing geological terms in Korea and other countries. Second, we defined geological topics in 15 areas and prepared a classification system(draft) for each topic. Third, based on the geological thesaurus classification system, we created the specification of geological thesaurus. Lastly, we designed and implemented an internet-based geological thesaurus system using the specification.

Developing countries may pay attention to bibliometric indicators in accordance with their scientific development plans. Bibliometrics research topics and bibliometric indicators have grown dramatically in Iran since 2000 as a part of the post-war reconstruction programs. This paper aims to highlight how scientometrics may attract attention in developing countries such as Iran in response to national movements in education and science. An in-depth review on available guidelines for promotion of innovation, science, and technology in Iran was done followed by a review on previous research in this topic. Further data were gathered from Scopus and other sources. The findings show a considerable growth in research output of Iran in recent years and expansion of bibliometrics studies and jobs accordingly. Combined with research output measures, more attention was found in academia about cross-section development of science and technology in Iran. The demand in society has led to the foundation of scientometrics programs in Iranian universities as well as scientometrics departments in central libraries and research deputies in major academic institutions. The changing image of science and research in Iran has a relation with the growth of scientometrics academic and professional departments. The lessons taught from this mutual collaboration can be used in other developing nations.

Concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members are commonly used as composite columns in modern construction. However, the current guidelines for members' fire design (EN1994-1-2) have been proved to be unsafe in case the relative slenderness is higher than 0.5. In addition, the simplified design methods of Eurocode 4 are limited to circular and square CFST columns, while in practice columns with rectangular and elliptical hollow sections are being increasingly used because of their architectural aesthetics. In the last years a large experimental research has been carried out at Coimbra University on the topic. They have been tested concrete filled circular, square, rectangular and elliptical hollow columns with restrained thermal elongation. Some parameters such as the slenderness, the type of cross-section geometry as well as the axial and rotational restraint of the surrounding structure to the column have been tested in order to evaluate their influence on the fire resistance of such columns. In this paper it is evaluated the influence of the boundary conditions (pin-ended and semi-rigid end-support conditions) on the behavior of the columns in case of fire. In these tests it could not be seen a marked effect of the tested boundary conditions but it is believed that the increasing of rotational stiffness increases the fire resistance of the columns.

As a result of rapid aging speed in our society, it is necessary to supply a lot of housing for older people in near future. When we think that high portion of residence in rental housing complex composed of small units is the elderly, the housing units in those apartments have to be designed for the physical, mental, social, and economical conditions of elderly people who lives in such a residential complex. Considering these living conditions of the elderly, this study proposes a remodeling prototype of a living unit for older people in rental housing complex. For the research of this topic, various characteristics of the elderly and the environmental requirements for them firstly have been analysed from the literature survey and the interviews with two residents living in a rental apartment. And the design considerations for each space of the housing unit such as entrance, living room, bed room, bath room, and so forth have been explored. Based on the design guidelines above, the remodeling plan of a housing unit for older people has been propose as a result of this study.

Purpose: The internet, as a tool, avenue, and field, has wide-researching and specific ethical concerns. Internet-based research ethics is a field that spreads across numerous fields, scoping from natural and biomedical sciences to social sciences, and arts and humanities. Thus, this study which investigates research ethics within an Internet-based Research Setting will be quite valuable. Research design, data and methodology: The current authors widely took a look at prior and present literature dataset to explore research ethics within an Internet-based setting. Using numerous search engine, such as 'Goole Scholar', 'Scopus', and 'Web of Science', the current authors could obtain total 42 prior studies that are relevant with our research topic. Results: Based on the screening process in the literature datasets, this study could categorize four areas of the research ethics within Internet-based research setting as follows: (1) Human Subjects Ethics, (2) Big Data Ethical Issues, (3) Research Ethics and Cloud, and (4) Computing Interviews and Surveys Ethics. Conclusions: This study concludes that although internet-based research has many benefits, the accompanying ethical issues are many. The lack of uniformity in the concept and terminology of online research methods typically brings forth confusion and makes it hard for new researchers to develop mutual guidelines.

Purpose: This study seeks to address the following research questions: (1) What are the fundamental principles of sports psychology that can be applied to business leadership? (2) How can these principles enhance business leadership effectiveness? As a result, the study may evaluate the necessity and benefits of incorporating sports psychology principles into business leadership practices. Research design, data and methodology: The data collection process in this study involved a systematic Literature review approach, following the prior literature analysis guidelines by numerous past studies. This methodical approach to selecting articles can be useful in synthesizing existing literature and can be referred to as Literature review and selection. Results: The literature analysis has indicated that there is much support for assumptions underpinning business leadership modules, which can be enhanced by applying sports psychology. This topic discusses the traits of self-positivity and mental toughness, goal perspective and interpersonal relationships within a team, and visualization in a sporting organization that can be implemented in business management to support organizational performance. Conclusions: All in all, it can be concluded that organizations must consider adopting Sports Psychology principles into their Leadership Development Programs. Despite recent clinical guidelines, the optimal therapeutic strategy for the management of refractory chronic cough is still a challenge. The present systematic review was designed to assess the evidence for efficacy and safety of gabapentin in the treatment of chronic cough. A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library databases, and publications cited in bibliographies was performed. Articles were searched by two reviewers with a priori criteria for study selection. Seven relevant articles were identified, including two randomized controlled trials, one prospective case-series designed with consecutive patients, one retrospective case series of consecutive patients, one retrospective case series with unknown consecutive status, and two case reports comprising six and two patients, respectively. Improvements were detected in cough-specific quality of life (Leicester Cough Questionnaire score) and cough severity (visual analogue scale score) following gabapentin treatment in randomized controlled trials. The results of prospective case-series showed that the rate of overall improvement of cough and sensory neuropathy with gabapentin was 68%. Gabapentin treatment of patients with chronic cough showed superior efficacy and a good safety record compared with placebo or standard medications. Additional randomized and controlled trials are needed.

The potential of roadmapping systems in updating, maintaining and sharing technology roadmaps has been argued in many articles but the systems have not been dealt with as a research topic. Therefore, this research purposes to develop an online roadmapping system, which is called an e-TRM system, to improve the efficiency of roadmapping at the national level in Korea. For the purpose, the roadmapping process for national R&D planning and its main activities were analyzed, based on which system requirements and main functions were identified. After the functions were successfully implemented in the TRM system, the system was applied to the 2009 national roadmapping process to verify its feasibility and utility. The system will enable to digitalize R&D planning in Korea and share the planning results nationwide. Also, the research results are expected to provide useful guidelines for those who are in charge of developing TRM systems.

Here we review the evolutionary history of radiation therapy technology through the festschrift of articles in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Korean Society of Medical Physics (KSMP). Radiation therapy technology used in clinical practice has evolved over a long period of time. Various areas of science, such as medical physics, mechanical engineering, and computer engineering, have contributed to the continual development of new devices and techniques. The scope of this review was restricted to two areas; i.e., output energy production and functional development, because it is not possible to include all development processes of this technology due to space limitations. The former includes the technological transition process from the initial technique applied to the first model to the latest technique currently used in a variety of machines. The latter has had a direct effect on treatment outcomes and safety, which changed the paradigm of radiation therapy, leading to new guidelines on dose prescriptions, innovation of dose verification tools, new measurement methods and calculation systems for radiation doses, changes in the criteria for errors, and medical law changes in all countries. Various complex developments are covered in this review. To the best of our knowledge, there have been few reviews on this topic and we consider it very meaningful to provide a review in the festschrift in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the KSMP.

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze Trade Structure after Korea and Colombia FTA, and identify its problems and suggest measures that can be taken by the government and corporations to reinforce economic cooperation. Design/methodology/approach - To improve the level of contribution of the study, an empirical analysis is necessary. However, due to limited data access, the study will approach the topic of trade relations between Korea and Colombia with various statistics and literature. Findings - First, there is an urgent need for changes in import-export goods between Korea and Colombia, as trade is focused on specific items. Second, although foreign direct investment from Korea to the Colombia is centered in manufacturing and wholesale & retail, there should be different investment strategies by industries. Third, it is necessary to reinforce commercial cooperation. Research implications or Originality - The Free Trade Agreement between Korea and Colombia entered into force in 2016. Under the agreement, both countries will eliminated all tariffs within ten years after it takes effect. Reinforcing economic cooperation with Colombia is extremely important for Korea in terms of entering and dominating Colombian market. However, there is still a lack of research on the Colombia, and corporations that aim to enter Colombian market face difficulties due to lack of information. This study analyzes the recent trends of problems of trade between Korea and Colombia and suggests solutions for boosting trade to provide proper strategic guidelines for Korea that are planning to expand to Colombian market.
