Though service is recognized as not only a new driver for economy growth but also a source for sustainable value creation, it has been misunderstood in the literatures because of traditional characteristics of service such as inseparability, heterogeneity, intangibility, and perishability. This perspective can be a cause of barrier to approach a service. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate an instrument to measure of the service process. A series of statistical procedures were used to analyze the data, which proved that the instrument is valid and reliable. This study makes a contribution to both academic research and management practice. Theoretically, this study provides a measurement of service process in organizations for identifying service process. In practice, the results of this study will help organizations evaluate their service process innovation.
To use polycrystalline Si Thin Film Transistor (poly-Si TFT) in high density SRAM instead of High Load Resistor (HLR), TFT is needed to show good electrical characteristics such as large carrier mobility, low leakage current, high driver current and low subthreshold swing. To satisfy these electrical characteristics, the trap state density must be reduced in the channel poly. Technological issues pertinent to the channel poly fabrication process are investigated and discussed. They are solid phase growth (SPG), Si-ion implantation, laser annealing and hydrogenation. The electrical properties of several CVD oxides used as the gate oxide of TFT are compared. The dependence of the electrical characteristics of TFT on source-drain ion-implantation dose, drain offset length and dopant lateral diffusion are also described.
Entrepreneurship is considered as an important driver of economic growth, new firm creation, business rejuvenation& job creation. Over a period of time research within entrepreneurship literature has shifted from entrepreneur and his personality to his behavioral disposition. This has led to emergence of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) construct, which focuses on the process of entrepreneurship at firm level and it has emerged as the most widely researched area within entrepreneurship field. Though research in this field has been rigorous and exhaustive, still there have been concerns that researchers might have prematurely agreed on the composition, dimensionality, and nature of EO Construct. There has been considerable debate about whether EO Construct comprises three or five dimensions, about co-variance or independence of these dimensions and nature of construct whether formative or reflective. This article builds an argument about the multidimensional nature of EO construct comprising five dimensions, which vary independently and the fact that EO is better explained through formative construct rather than reflective one.
In industrialised countries, innovation is a key source of economic growth. Research is a key driver of technological innovation and involves the process of systematic investigation and/or experimentation to discover new knowledge. The Governments' industry innovation policy supports a business focus on Research and Development (R&D) through a range of programs in order to achieve these aims. The Innovation Statement, launched by the Australian Prime Minister in January 2001, commits an additional $3 billion over five years to encourage and support innovation. The Australian Government aims to build world competitive firms and strong research capability in industry to strengthen Australia's international competitiveness and increase national prosperity. It develops policies and programs to enhance investment in innovation. The Australian Government also undertakes analysis and comparisons of innovation policies, instruments and approaches to maintain a leading-edge National Innovation System. This includes analysis of the innovation activities of other nations, and evaluation of the impacts of innovation policies and programs on Australia's institutions and enterprises. This paper examines Australia's Innovation policies, Backing Australian Ability.
The recent growth in the portable display industry has been dominated by flexible display, moreover, several developing of using LCD technology has been in making the flexible display work effectively, however flexible device is not practical. Recently, the study on the multi-display screen has been published as the needs of larger screen in mobile device has been increased. The multi-display screen which is composed of two LCD panels, has the characteristics of the seamless gap between two panels. To meet the needs of this multi-display, in this paper, the study is performed to design the seamless device which consist of LCD panels, light film, back light and driver, and finally, we evaluated the effectiveness of seamless folding mechanism.

Development of liver cancers is driven largely by genomic alterations that deregulate signaling pathways, influencing growth and survival of cancer cells. Because of the hundreds or thousands of genomic/epigenomic alterations that have accumulated in the cancer genome, it is very challenging to find and test candidate genes driving tumor development and progression. Systematic studies of the liver cancer genome have become available in recent years. These studies have uncovered new potential driver genes, including those not previously known to be involved in the development of liver cancer. Novel approaches combining multiple datasets from patient tissues have created an unparalleled opportunity to uncover potential new therapeutic targets and prognostic/predictive biomarkers for personalized therapy that can improve clinical outcomes of the patients with liver cancer.
Data can be considered a core driver of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and databases are needed to create value by efficiently obtaining, storing and analyzing the data. However, there are currently no adequate valuation methods to handle databases. This study aims first, to understand databases as the subject of valuation and analyze value drivers of databases, and second, to propose a database valuation model based on this finding. To this end, we derive value drivers of databases from the characteristics and value criteria of databases observed in previous studies. Based on survey data from 396 database service firms we verify the value drivers through linear regression analysis. We find that the annual growth rate in database capacity and the data types positively affect sales of databases and offer ways to utilize them when estimating the cash flow, which is the variable to apply the discounted cash flow method-based income approach. This study contributes empirical insights into how to valuate databases considering their value drivers.
This paper analyzes job creation when the Korean economy transitioned to a knowledge economy from the 1990s to the 2010s. During this period, the ratio of service to manufacturing jobs increased, knowledge intensive industries grew, and job creation became geographically concentrated around Seoul. The changes slowed down in the 2010s, and overall job growth weakened. To analyze the effect of job creation driver industries during this period, the main part of which are knowledge intensive tradable service industries, on local service job creation, I use a modified version of the local labor market of Moretti (2010). I analyze the job changes during 1995-2005 and during 2006-2016 in 237 Si-Gun-Gu areas in the Census on Establishments datasets. I find that one manufacturing job creates 0.5 local service jobs and that one tradable service job creates 1.1 jobs within Gu areas of metro cities and 2.3 jobs in Si-Gun areas. The job creation relationship between the tradable and local service sectors was not altered in this period. As more jobs were created in the tradable sector driven by the transition to a knowledge economy, job creation overall remained active, with the opposite also being true.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, and advanced breast cancer with metastases is incurable mainly with currently available therapies. Therefore, it is essential to understand molecular characteristics during the progression of breast carcinogenesis. Here, we report a dataset of whole genomes from the human mammary epithelial cell system derived from a reduction mammoplasty specimen. This system comprises pre-stasis 184D cells, considered normal, and seven cell lines along cancer progression series that are immortalized or additionally acquired anchorage-independent growth. Our analysis of the whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data indicates that those seven cancer progression series cells have somatic mutations whose number ranges from 8,393 to 39,564 (with an average of 30,591) compared to 184D cells. These WGS data and our mutation analysis will provide helpful information to identify driver mutations and elucidate molecular mechanisms for breast carcinogenesis.
