  • Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been manufactured in recent years and widely used in various fields. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), which occur in AgNPs, destroy cell membranes. It is widely accepted that ROS generated in this manner inhibit microorganisms growth and causes toxic effects, However, it does not affect cell membranes directly but positively affects growth in plants with cell walls. The nanoball used in this experiment is a new material that generates ROS stably and is used in aqueous solution. Results of this study indicate a 30% increase in yield of Ginseng mixed with culture soil. The analysis of soil condition after cultivation showed that the possibility of repetitive cultivation in soil mixed with Nanoball was high. This suggests that Nanoball is an antimicrobial active material due to the microbial / extermination effect of pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, there may be potential applications in agricultural cultivation sites as a repetitive cultivation technology that reuses soil.

  • Growth and tropane alkaloids(hyoscyamine and scopolamine) contents were studied in root cultures from Scopolia paruiflora. All excised roots grew well, even without an addition of a growth regulators. Scopolia roots could be divided scopolamine-rich species. Among the culture media, SH medium was the best for tropane alkaloids production from the hairy roots, whereas the growth increased in SH medium. In precusor experiments, feeding of hyoscyamine was promotive for scopolamine formation. Abiotic elicitors made a slightly production promotion effect.

  • The aim of the present study was to assess the importance of siderophore producing rhizobacteria on the growth of Brassica juncea under chromium stress. Pseudomonas sp. (A4) produced an iron chelating substance siderophores in iron deficient medium. Under chromium stress condition Pseudomenas sp. (A4) markedly increased the root and shoot length and also biomass of Brassica juncea as compared to Pseudomonas sp. (A3). This plant growth promotion has been related to the microbial production of siderophores.

  • For the development of probiotics in aquaculture of marine organisms, three strains having psychrophilic and salt tolerant characteristics were isolated from Kimchi. Amng the isolated strains. MG19, MG89 and MG208 were identified as Lactobacillus brevis, Enterococcus faecium and Lactobacillus plantarum, respectively. The neutralized culture broth of isolated strains were tested in order to evaluate the antibactrial activity, 조초 showed high antibacterial activity against Edwardsiella tarda, Vibrio cholerae andPseudomonas fluorescens. In mixed culture of pathogens and isolated strain, pathogens were signifi-cantly inhibited after 2 days of cultivation but the isolated strains showed normal growth. When the Edwardsiella tarda was cultured with three isolated strains, its growth was completely inhibited after 254 hours of cultivation. The effect of isolated three strains as probiotics was investigated based on the changes in body weight of aquacultured flounder. After 50 days feeding trial, it was found that the mean body weight gain of the tested group fed freeze-dried isolated cells was significantly greater than that of the control group. These results suggest that these isolated strains can play an important role as probiotics in aquaculture.

  • While screening for nematicidal activity of bacterial origins, various pseudomonads strains were inhabited in tomato rhizosphere. One isolate designated as $PE_{10}$ was selected for studies on nematicidal properties and plant growth-promoting (PGP) activity and was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa based on morphological features, biochemical and physiological tests, and carbohydrate utilization. To investigate nematicidal activity, Meloidogyne incognita juvenile mortality was determined using $PE_{10}$ culture filtrate. Inhibition of strain $PE_{10}$ against Fusarium oxysporum was observed using dual culture technique. Strain $PE_{10}$ showed good siderophore activity, HCN and IAA production abilities, and growth and development enhancement of tomato.

  • This study is to investigate that population change as a result of the decline in population has a correlation with a decrease in crime, with the change in the demographic composition by comparing with two models: model with growth in population and one with the decline in population. We collected demographic data for all cities in Korea from the 2010 Census to 2020 offered by the Korean Statistical Information Service, with crime data comprising serious reported crime events from the Korean Nation Police Agency through requesting data related to the total number of crimes at the same as the period of demographic data. This study can identify the impacts of demographic changes as a result of population change on crime change through a comparative analysis between areas with population growth and ones with population decline. We can confirm that there are differences in determinants of crime between areas with population increase and one with population decrease from the analysis of the impact of demographic change as a result of population change on crime change.
