  • The objective of this study was to determine the effect of different height of drainpipe and growing media soilless cultivated cut rose in container culture. Two experiment were to examine the effect of the drainpipe height and media composition on yield and quality of cut rose, Four different drainpipe height (0, 3, 6, 9 cm) were treated to determine of optimal container type. Yield was the highest at 3 cm drainpipe height, but quality was not significantly affected by drainpipe height. Survival rate of rose was 100%, 100%, 92%, and 92%, respectively. Two different drainpipe height (0, 3 cm) and 7 media composition (pure coir and pelite, and mixed with two media 3 : 1, 2 : 1, 1 : 1, 1 : 2, 1 : 3 v/v) was treated to determine of media composition related to drainpipe height. The supply of nutrient solution was controlled by the signal of water potential at -5 kPa using frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) sensor in mixed coir with pelite 3 : 1, 1 : 1, 1 : 3 (v/v), respectively. Irrigation frequency reduced in high ratio of coir media and 3 cm height of drainpipe. Quality of cut rose except for flower weight and yield until 2nd harvest was not significantly affected by drainpipe height, but yield after 3rd was higher at 3 cm than 0 cm height of darinpipe. In the media composition, yield and qulity of cut rose was increased at high ratio of coir media.

  • In order to enhance pore ratio and durability, media-type algal bloom inhibition chemical was manufactured from powder form. The results showed that the media increased effective contact time between the water to be treated and the effective components in the chemical, and thus, chemical dose and sludge production were significantly reduced.

  • This paper intends to shed light on how the advent of streaming services pioneered by Netflix has been affecting the media landscape in the U.S. by looking at Disney's entry into streaming services and what effects this might have had. The paper first looks at the rise of Netflix, the disruptive impact it had on cable and film businesses, and the challenges this has posed to traditional media conglomerates like Disney. In this context, the paper examines Disney's decision to enter into streaming services as a move to counter both these challenges and Netflix's growing power. Finally, the paper notes the changes Disney's entry is likely to bring about, notably the continued disruption of film and television as streaming business expands, as well as the potential of Disney's streaming services to challenge Netflix and further strengthen its media empire.

  • Media manipulation of breaking news through article selection, ranking and tweaking of social media data and comment streams is a growing concern for society. We argue that the combination of human and machine curation on media portals marks a new period for news media and journalism. Although intermediary platforms routinely claim that they are merely the neutral technological platform which facilitates news and information flows, rejecting any criticisms that they are operating as de facto media organisations; instead, we argue for an alternative, more active interpretation of their roles. In this article we provide a contemporary account of the South Korean ('Korean') online news media ecology as an exemplar of how contemporary media technologies, and in particular portals and algorithmic recommender systems, perform a powerful role in shaping the kind of news and information that citizens access. By highlighting the key stakeholders and their positions within the production, publication and distribution of news media, we argue that the overall impact of the major portal platforms of Naver and Kakao is far more consequential than simply providing an entertaining media diet for consumers. These portals are central in designing how and which news is sourced, produced and then accessed by Korean citizens. From a regulatory perspective the provision of news on the portals can be a somewhat ambiguous and moving target, subject to soft and harder regulatory measures. While we investigate a specific case study of the South Korean experience, we also trace out connections with the larger global media ecology. We have relied on policy documents, stakeholder interviews and portal user 'walk throughs' to understand the changing role of news and its surfacing on a distinctive breed of media platforms.

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore security guard's status and roles in society through media reports. Research method is to anlyze security Guard's 'Keyword Trend' and 'Keyword Frequency Analysis' by 'Big Kind' which enables 'News Big Data' analysis. The result came out by the analysis in sectional private security guard's history of settling down, growing up (quantity), and growing up (quality) by separating generations is that there are lots of attention and exposure from media about crime, security guard job, minimum wage, and 'Gabjil', but the images of security guard are recognized as victim of crime and 'Gabjil', and working in poor environment with minimum waged and ambiguous job, instead of people preventing crimes. In the future, stabilizing security guard's social status and work responsibility, and developing job professionalism are necessary to improve the images of security guard.

  • Since the Media law recently passed, the media's influence has further enhanced than before. However, in reality, systematic media education can't catch up a trend of the fast growing media culture development. The new paradigm is much needed in getting rid of utilizing previous ICT training tool but rather using a creative and critical new role model. This study, media education in schools outside the school, as well as to the proper education of the active and systematic media education system as a way to create a top integrated media that is responsible for training new teachers to offer courses to train professionals. To change fragmentary and unsystematic media education system having been implemented to more professional, systematic and concrete, it is proposed that 3 systematic courses media literacy course, media story telling course and media production course should be implemented.

  • To determine the optimal media conditions for the detection of the extracellular cellulase activity in Ganoderma neo-japonicum, we varied three media conditions: dye reagent, pH, and temperature. We evaluated the use of four dyes, Congo red, phenol red, remazol brilliant blue, and trypan blue. To observe the effect of pH on the chromogenic reaction, we tested media ranging from 4.5 to 8.0. To research the effect of temperature on the clear zone and the fungus growing zone, we tested temperatures ranging from 15 to $35^{\circ}C$. On the whole, the best protocol called for Ganoderma neo-japonicum transfer onto media containing Congo red with a pH of 7.0, followed by incubation at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 days. Our results will be useful to researchers who study extracellular enzyme activity in Ganoderma neo-japonicum.

  • The mobile internet service market is growing very rapidly in Korea. This study outlines the current state of mobile internet services and analyzes the mobile contents types of media companies, especially newspapers, broadcasters and internet portal firms. As a result of this study, media companies provide generally different types of news and information for free and they are eager to develop the new mobile business models to maintain their power in new media. But mobile content distribution is still in the early stages due to the lack of clear business models. To satisfy the consumer's needs and to maintain the competitive advantages, the media companies should develop new business models and cooperate with other market participants to reduce the barriers in the mobile internet service market.

  • The political reformation in Indonesia is a determinant factor of the change in political communications and the roles of media. Currently, the political elites need media support, since it contextually has a significant role. Whoever has a good relationship with the media, will be loved by the public. On the other hand, the media also have a vested interest in the elite in running businesses and building the power of industry. Policies and capital pose a challenge to maintaining the continuity of the media. Independence and control of media are at stake, when the interests of the media and the elite collaborate with each other and then build a benefit on both sides. Meanwhile, the role of social media also cannot be neglected. The Indonesian political communication system is characterized by the presence of social media in a pseudo-relationship between the elite and the public. This paper tries to explain the growing trends of research in the academic environment and the research trends in political practice in Indonesia after the occurrence of post-reformation era in legislative and executive elections. The method used is the meta-analysis of research outcomes of university (dissertations) and secondary data sources. Data processing is done by meta-analysis of secondary data. The results of meta-analysis research indicate that, the objective conditions, in Indonesia, especially the political conditions, stimulate new spaces in communication research. The study of political communication becomes dominant in the academic environment. In addition, communication research is also characterized by a shift from the linear perspective (positivistic paradigm) to the interactive perspective (naturalistic paradigm). On the other hand, the development of politic and governance situations in Indonesia has prompted the establishment of polling agencies that help citizens understand the maps of political power and candidates in general elections and regional head elections.
