  • In this paper a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a french is carried out. The transmitted load into the ground which induces the ground vibration is computed through a study on the interaction between tilting car and the line. This load is applied into the numerical model which is one for a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a trench. Then the numerical results is compared with the experimental results conducted in the previous study.

  • This paper describes the results of a series of field experiments which are carried out to assess the reduction effect of railroad vibration by utilizing waste tires. The ground vibration due to train service is measured in Honam Railroad line and Kyongbu Railroad line to assess the ground vibration with the domestic railroad line and train type before field model test. From the results of these tests, frequency on train service is presented from 5Hz to 100Hz and a range of excellence frequency is presented to be about from 20Hz to 40Hz in the domestic railroad line. Also, plate bearing tests are conducted to evaluate the variation of bearing capacity with different thickness of the waste tire layer and the fill layer. Finally, field model test is performed by using tire chips ($5cm{\times}5cm$ in size) as a reduction material of railroad vibration. The reduction effect of railroad vibration by utilizing waste tires increases with increasing the thickness of the waste tire layer and the frequency of the vibration source. The results of this experimental study was shown that the waste tire can be used for reduction of the railroad vibration.

방진체결구/방진매트의 진동저감특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vibration Reduction Characteristics of the Elastic Rail Fastener/Ballast Mat)

  • Generally, countermeasures for the train-induced vibration are divided into the measures at the source, propagation path and receiving object. Among these measures the countermeasure at the source location is the most active and effective one in the field of railroad. In this study, the effectiveness of each anti-vibration measures at the track(source location) such as elastic rail fastener, ballast mat were evaluated through the comparison of acceleration level, insertion loss at the installed locations of each measures. As result of field measurement of vibration at the railroad track supporting structures and on the ground nearby the structures, elastic rail fastener showed vibration reduction effect of 4.5 ∼7.3㏈ on the concrete slab, 1.6∼3.7㏈ on the ground with the train operation speed of 80km/hr. In the case of ballast mat, the vibration reduction effect at the concrete slab and on the ground were 11.9∼13.3㏈ and 6.1∼7.6㏈, respectively.

  • 터널 굴착시 지반진동을 감소시키기 위해 굴착면에 부분적인 자유면을 형성하고 제어발파를 수행하는 자유면 발파공법이 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 다이어몬드 와이어 쏘를 이용하여 인공절리를 심발부에 형성하고, 심발부 발파 시 발생되는 지반진동을 비교함으로써 인공절리에 의한 지반진동 감소를 평가하였다. 해석 결과, 일반 심발발파보다 인공절리 심발발파에서 지반진동이 감소하였으며, 수직 인공절리 심발발파보다 수평 인공절리 심발발파에서의 지반진동 감소 효과가 더 크게 평가되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 수치해석적인 기법을 이용하여 지하철 주변 지반의 진동레벨 감쇠에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 해석 결과 터널이 토사지반에 있을 경우 지반진동에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소는 지반의 물성치로 나타났고, 암반에 있을 경우 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 암반의 물성치로 나타났다. 또한, 진동원과의 연직면에서 떨어져 있는 각도를 기준으로 영향범위를 산정한 결과, 대부분의 해석 결과에서 연직면에서 $30^{\circ}$ 이내에 있을 경우 진동레벨의 감쇠 현상은 크지 않은 것으로 판단되었고, $40^{\circ}$ 이상이 되면 진동레벨은 급격히 감소하는 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

저진동 파일시공법에 따른 지반진동 응답 예측을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study for Prediction of Ground Vibration Responses by the Low-vibration Pile Driving Methods)

  • This study investigated the SIP-method as a low-vibration, low-noise engineering method. The ground vibrations caused by the SIP-method were measured and analyzed in each step. From the analysis results, quantitative ground vibration values and reliable vibration estimation equations were proposed. Furthermore, the ground vibrations caused by the SIP-method were compared with the ground vibrations caused by other methods presented by existing studies. Based on the vibration estimation equation with 50 % reliability, the ground vibration values by the SIP-method at the distance of 10~150 m corresponded to 17~57 % of the ground vibration values by the equation proposed by Attewell & Famer, and 14~96 % of the ground vibration values by the equation proposed by Prof. Park in his study using a diesel drop hammer. These results showed that the ground vibration reduction effect of the SIP-method was higher those of other general engineering methods. Finally, the permissible scope of work using the SIP-method which meets the domestic vibration standards was presented.

An innovative vibration barrier by intermittent geofoam - A numerical study

  • A new technique is proposed to obtain more effective screening efficiency against the ground vibration using intermittent geofoam (IF) in-filled trench. The numerical analysis is performed by employing two-dimensional finite element method under dynamic condition. Vertically oscillated strip foundation is considered as the vibration source. In presence of the ground vibration, the vertical displacements at different locations (pick-up points) along the ground surface are captured to determine the amplitude reduction factor (ARF), which helps to assess the efficiency of the vibration screening technique. The efficiency of IF over continuous geofoam (CF) in-filled vibration barriers is assessed by varying the geofoam density, the location of trench and the frequency of excitation. The results from this study indicate that a significant reduction in ARF can be achieved by using intermittent geofoam as compared to continuous geofoam. Further, it is noticed that the efficiency of IF increases with an increase in the frequency of the vibrating source. These encouraging results put forward the potential of utilising intermittent geofoam as a vibration screening material.
