The current electricity networks will undergo profound changes in the years to come to be able to meet the growing demand for electricity, while minimizing the costs of consumers and producers, etc. The electricity network of tomorrow or even the intelligent « Smart Grids » network will be the convergence of two networks: the electricity network and the telecommunications network. In this context falls our work which aims to study the impact of the integration of energy decentralization into the electricity network. In this sense, we have implemented a new smart grid model where several coexisting suppliers can exchange information with consumers in real time. In addition, a new approach to energy distribution optimization has been developed. The simulation results prove the effectiveness of this approach in improving energy exchange and minimizing consumer purchase costs and line losses.

As the power grid has been changed to a smart grid, existing power technologies are evolving into convergence technology through interdisciplinary research. According to the government policy to increase the proportion of renewable energy to 20% by 2030, the speed seems to be accelerating. This study analyzes the relationship between research technologies in order to grasp research trends of smart grid technology. To this end, we analyze the relationship between keywords extracted from topic modeling using social network analysis methodology. This is because, in the field where interdisciplinary research such as smart grid is active, each research topic is not independent, but research technologies emerging in one topic coexist in different topics, and linkage between research technologies can be important information. Therefore, this study can contribute to the analysis of research trend as it can be used as a package tool together with a topic modeling methodology.

To analyze the usage information of system and network resources to the each grid application by measuring the real time traffic and calculating the statistic information, we suggested the kernel-based monitoring methods by researching the efficient monitoring method. This method use small system resourcesand measure the monitoring information accurately with less delay than the usual packet capture methods such as tcpdump. Also we implemented the monitoring systems which can monitor the used resources of system and network for grid application using the suggested kernel-based monitoring method. This research can give the useful information to the development of grid application and to grid network scheduler which can assign the proper resources to the grid application to perform efficiently. Network administrator can decide whether the expansion of network is required or not using the monitoring information.

This paper presents the optimal network configuration for electric stations using HOMER software. For the given data such as annual average wind speed and grid costs, this software calculates the NPC(Net Present Cost), operating cost and COE(Cost of Energy). Based on these simulation results, it is possible to find the optimal network configuration for electric stations depending on the grid cost and average wind speed. When the rising grid cost is considered, it is essential to use grid and renewable energy together. Depending on the increase of the grid cost, NPC of the configuration using renewable energy and grid can be gradually getting smaller than NPC of the configuration using only grid.

We have analyzed the reliability of failure models in circuit-switched networks. These models are grid topology circuit-switched networks, and each node transmits a packet to a destination node using a Flooding routing method. We have assumed that the failure of each link and node is independent. We have considered two method to analyze reliability in these models : The Karnaugh Map method and joint probability method. In this two method, we have analyzed the reliability in a small grid topology circuit switched network by a joint probability method, and comared analytic results with simulated ones. For a large grid enormous. So, we have evaluated the reliability of the network by computer simulation techniques. As results, we have found that the analytic results are very close to simulated ones in a small grid topology circuit switched network. And, we have found that network reliability decreases exponentially, according to increment of link or node failure, and network reliability is almost linearly decreased according to increment of the number of links, by which call has passed. Finally, we have found an interesting result that nodes in a center of the network are superior to the other nodes from the reliability point of view.
The Smart grid refers to the technology that enables efficient usage of electric power by collecting information concerning the power usage and power lines grafting information and communications technology to onto power grids. There are Zigbee, PLC or IEEE 802.11 WLAN MAC as a core technology of the Smart grid, but in this paper, the discussion is focused on the PLC. The PLC is the technology that carries out data communications using power lines and put into practical use in the field of lights or home appliances control recently but PLC-applied communications between electronic devices are rarely seen. For the reason that the PLC uses high-voltage power lines and has a disadvantage of experiencing higher data loss rate caused by the noises produced by going through transformers, the technology is yet to be used in many areas. Nevertheless, the PLC has been studied widely recently in respect that it's the low-cost communication solution for the Smart Metering [1]. Moreover, this technology is emerging as a novel data communication method and discussed as an important technology lately due to the developments of the Smart grid systems and Internet of things (IoT). Thus, in this paper, the results obtained from designing and performing implementation scenario for the PLC-based Smart grid home network system were compared and analyzed with that of IEEE 802.11 WLAN MAC (the foundation technology at Jeju Smart grid Test bed)-based Smart grid home network. Thus, in this paper, OPNET 14.5 PL8, OSI 7 layer, PLC router nodes and PLC nodes had been used for the designing and implementation simulations of both systems. Additionally, QoS was not considered in order to guarantee that all the traffics would not have the same processing priority.

Satellite communications consist of communications between base stations of the ground and satellites. For efficient satellite communications, ground networks should be organically utilized. Grid networks are frequently used in and outside the country for wireless communications. The performance of wireless communications is determined by mobility, topography, and jamming signals. Therefore, continuous studies of grid networks are necessary for the utilization of next period satellite networks. Since military communications are used based on wireless systems, they can be considered as a sample of utilization of grid networks. Therefore, this paper presented the results of simulations conducted for the improvement of the performance of the grid networks used in military communications that employing the OSPF, a popular routing protocol for military applications. First we investigate the effects of changing the bit error rate (BER) and number of routers. Then we discuss the effects of maximum segment size (MSS) on network behavior and stability. In this way, we can determine the appropriate MSS for a grid network under various values of BER and number of routers. Such results can be also applied to commercial grid network evaluations.
To achieve the efficient performance within a mobile grid considering the intermittent network connectivity and non-dedicated heterogeneous mobile devices, this paper suggests the scheduling algorithm of job allocation as a viable solution. The suggested scheduling algorithm has two core functions, the prediction of response time for task processing and the identification of the optimal number of mobile devices to process the mobile grid applications. This scheduling algorithm suggests the numerical formulas to calculate the network latency considering the effects of heterogeneous non-dedicated mobile system in wireless network environments. Also we evaluate the performance of mobile grid system using the processing the distributed applications in implemented mobile grid environments.

The paper proposes a new protection algorithm for reliable operation of grid-interfaced PV system, which can flexibly interact with conventional protective schemes of power utility grid not only to prevent damages to utility or public persons and utility apparatus caused by malfunction or failure in distribution network protection system, but also to protect a PV system itself from faults or abnormal conditions of the network. The proposed algorithm is based on reclosing characteristics of the distribution system. As a network fault occurs, the new scheme determines whether it is momentary or permanent and responds in a pre-programmed way to the fault. For permanent outage, the proposed algorithm shuts down inverter's operations but monitoring system voltage and frequency at the point of common coupling with grid. When it comes to the momentary outage, Inverter starts stand-by operation mode so that it can be automatically connected to the grid without start-up procedures as soon as the system voltage and frequency returns into the normal operation range. In order to investigate' and evaluate the PV system operation, simulation study based on PSCAD/EMTDC has been carried out to verify the performance of the proposed protection scheme.

The topography is recognized as an important factor in determining the streamflow response of watershed to precipitation. In watershed analysis, stream networks are very important parameters. Each DEM grid size and flowaccumulation threshold value of drainage accumulation matrix have influence on stream networks extracted by using grid DEM. Therefore, stream networks extracted from DEM varies with each DEM grid size and flowaccumulation threshold value. Generally, small threshold values will generate more detailed stream network with higher drainage density High threshold values will generate coarser stream networks. In this paper, total stream length in the study area was used to calculate the flowaccumulation threshold value by each DEM grid size. Stream network was derived by each DEM grid size, which is applied flowaccumulation threshold value. Regression equation was derived by correlation between flowaccumulation threshold value and each DEM grid size.
