  • This study aimed at examining the investment and economic analysis of greenhouse horticultural project area by governmental subsidy project. There were only 5 project areas that economic efficiency of investment is recognized in 30 project area in Kyungsangnam-do. And there are 7 project areas to gain farm firm revenue. These were possible area to develop to farm firm. There are 4 project areas to gain farm firm revenue in 18 project areas of glass greenhouse area, and 8 project areas to gain farm firm revenue in 12 project areas-vinyl greenhouse area. The rate of return of the fixed capital is higher in the vinyl greenhouse area than in the glass greenhouse area by type of greenhouse. There were cultivated tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc. in the greenhouse area. The investment efficiency of the fixed capital is higher in cucumber and pepper than in other vegetables. Flowers a re lower than the vegetable in investment efficiency.

  • In this paper, experimental study performed on steel-pipe connections for structural members of a greenhouse is presented. By those experiments performed, bending moment, deformation and stress distribution of specimens were investigated under four point bending test. The bending performance according to connection method using pin and the stretching is also investigated. The results of bending performance of the no connection specimen were compared to those of other connection specimens. The pin and stretching connection specimens showed lower banding performance than the no connection specimen. The stretching connection method was relatively higher bending performance than the pin connection specimens. According to the results, we proposed the connection method with good bending performance that can be applied to steel-pipe connection in greenhouse.

  • This study were carried out to evaluate the efficiency of using burn-type $CO_2$ generators in greenhouse for cultivation 'Seolhyang' strawberry ($Fragaria{\times}ananassa\;Duch.$) during winter season. The concentration of $CO_2$ was 200 to $600{\mu}mol{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ in the control, and 800 to $1,100{\mu}mol{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ in using burn-type $CO_2$ generator between 6 and 11 hours. At other times, it was observed that at similar concentration in the control and using burn-type $CO_2$ generator. Measured greenhouse air temperature inside the of using burn-type $CO_2$ generator was $2{\sim}3^{\circ}C$ higher than the control at 6 ~ 10 am. There was no temperature difference between treatments after 11 o'clock. Plant height, leaf length, leaf width, root diameter, fresh weight, and dry weight were not different between treatments. The marketable yield (kg/10a) of using burn-type generator were 4,131 kg, which was 519 kg higher than the control. Therefore, the total fruit yields increased 17% compared to the control.

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of high performance greenhouse films on growth and fruit quality of tomato. For this purpose, polyolefin (PO), fluoric, antidrop, antifog and thermal films were compared to normal film, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). In spectral irradiance of the films, UV ($300{\sim}400nm$) transmittance was highest in fluoric film and lowest in PO film. PAR (photosynthetically active radiation, $400{\sim}700nm$) transmittance was higher in fluoric, thermal and PO film, and near infrared ray (NIR, $700{\sim}1,100nm$) transmittance was higher in high performance films, compared to the EVA film. Total light transmittance was higher in order of fluoric, antifog, anti drop, PO, thermal, and EVA film. Day air temperature in greenhouse was highest under fluoric film and lowest under EVA film due to the light transmittance, while night air temperature was highest under PO and anti drop film due to the thickness of film. Tomato fruits grown under the high performance films had 0.2 to $0.5^{\circ}Bx$ higher soluble solids and 15 to 30% higher lycopene content, compared to those grown under the EVA film. The results showed that tomato fruit quality such as soluble solids and lycopene content can be heightened in terms of much irradiation and better light quality of high performance films, compared to the nomal film, EVA film.
