Combined Convection and Radiation in a Tube with Circumferential Fins and Circular Disks

  • Combined convection and radiation heat transfer in a circular tube with circumferential fins and circular disks is investigated for various operating conditions. Using a finite volume technique for steady laminar flow, the governing equations are solved in order to study the flow and temperature fields. The P- 1 approximation and the weighted sum of gray gases model (WSGGM) are used for solving the radiation transport equation. The results show that the total Nusselt number of combined convection and radiation is higher than that of pure convection. If the temperatures of the combustion gas and the wall in a tube are high, radiation becomes dominant. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effect of radiation on the total heat transfer.

  • 본 논문에서는 무늬영상의 분류에 적합한 특징의 선택에 대한 방법을 소개하였다. N개의 이웃한 gray level들의 공간적인 관계는 자동저하함수로 모델화된다. 특징 무늬로부터 취해진 모델 변수들은 최소 자승법으로 예측된다. 이 방법으로 생체세포의 영상들을 분류시킬 수 있다. 열개의 서로 다른 생체세포의 무늬영상으로 실험한 결과 분류의 정확도를 92%까지 이루었다.

  • 차량의 특징점들 사이의 간격과 그 크기의 비례율의 식으로 자동차의 차종을 식별하는 방법을 제안한다. 자동차 영상은 기본 RGB모델에서 Gray색상 모델로 변환시켜 사용한다. Canny Edge Direction을 수행하여 자동차의 배경이 되는 영상을 제거한다. 윤곽선 추출을 통하여 원하는 특징 점을 얻는다.

Model Inversion Attack: Analysis under Gray-box Scenario on Deep Learning based Face Recognition System

  • In a wide range of ML applications, the training data contains privacy-sensitive information that should be kept secure. Training the ML systems by privacy-sensitive data makes the ML model inherent to the data. As the structure of the model has been fine-tuned by training data, the model can be abused for accessing the data by the estimation in a reverse process called model inversion attack (MIA). Although, MIA has been applied to shallow neural network models of recognizers in literature and its threat in privacy violation has been approved, in the case of a deep learning (DL) model, its efficiency was under question. It was due to the complexity of a DL model structure, big number of DL model parameters, the huge size of training data, big number of registered users to a DL model and thereof big number of class labels. This research work first analyses the possibility of MIA on a deep learning model of a recognition system, namely a face recognizer. Second, despite the conventional MIA under the white box scenario of having partial access to the users' non-sensitive information in addition to the model structure, the MIA is implemented on a deep face recognition system by just having the model structure and parameters but not any user information. In this aspect, it is under a semi-white box scenario or in other words a gray-box scenario. The experimental results in targeting five registered users of a CNN-based face recognition system approve the possibility of regeneration of users' face images even for a deep model by MIA under a gray box scenario. Although, for some images the evaluation recognition score is low and the generated images are not easily recognizable, but for some other images the score is high and facial features of the targeted identities are observable. The objective and subjective evaluations demonstrate that privacy cyber-attack by MIA on a deep recognition system not only is feasible but also is a serious threat with increasing alert state in the future as there is considerable potential for integration more advanced ML techniques to MIA.

양성자 빔을 이용한 식물자원의 항산화 활성에 관한 연구(I) (Research of Antioxidant Activity from Plant Resources using Proton Beam(I))

  • 합성항산화제 3종과 17종의 식물 추출물을 이용하여 양성자 빔을 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 Gray 수준으로 처리하여 에너지양에 따른 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향을 탐색 하고자 DPPH radical 소거능 과 ABTS cation radical 소거능의 활성에 대하여 조사하였다. 이중 6종류의 시료는 양성자 빔을 조사한 결과 활성이 감소하였으며, 2종류의 시료는 활성변화가 없었으며, 12종류의 시료는 활성이 증가하였다. DPPH radical 소거 효과는 1,000 Gray 에서 마황은 60%, 괄루인은 5,000 Gray 에서 77.8%로 활성이 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. ABTS cation radical 소거효과에서 토천궁은 1,000 Gray의 양성자 빔을 조사한 결과 38.5% 활성이 감소하였으며, 합성 항산화제는 활성변화가 거의 없으나, 뼝쑥 추출물은 5,000 Gray에서 $IC_{50}$값이 2.4 ${\mu}g/ml$로 BHT의 $IC_{50}$값 2.3 ${\mu}g/ml$과 유사하였다.

당량비 변화에 따른 복사 특성이 3차원 난류 연소에 미치는 영향 연구 (Study of the Radiation Effect by Equivalence ratio change on the 3-D Turbulent Combustion)

  • Radiative heat transfer is very important in many combustion systems since they are operated in high temperature. Fluid flows in most of the combustion systems are turbulent to promote fast mixing of the hydrocarbon fuel and oxidant. Major combustion products are $CO_2$ and $H_2O$. The turbulent flow is modeled by using the standard ${\kappa}-{\epsilon}$ model and the radiation transfer is modeled by using the discrete ordinates method where the radiative gas properties are calculated by using the weighted sum of gray gases model with a gray gas regrouping(WSGGM-RG). Effect of the radiation on the combustion characteristics in a three-dimensional rectangular enclosure is studied by changing the equivalence ratio. Results show that the radiation plays a significant role on the heat transfer in the combustion systems by resulting in a temperature drop of 16% as compared to that obtained without radiation. The equivalence ratio also affects the combustion by different contribution of the radiative transfer with different gas compositions.

  • 본 연구에서는 Co$_{2}$와 H$_{2}$O의 방사율을 흡수특성치와 절대온도 역수 의 함수로 유도함으로써 기존의 방사율계산모형을 보다 일반화시켰을 뿐만아니라 실측 치와 계산치 사이의 오차를 기존 모형의 결과보다 훨씬 감소시켰다.

The effect of mechanical properties of bone in the mandible, a numerical case study

  • Bone properties are one of the key components when constructing models that can simulate the mechanical behavior of a mandible. Due to the complexity of the structure, the tooth, ligaments, different bones etc., some simplifications are often considered and bone properties are one of them. The objective of this study is to understand if a simplification of the problem is possible and assess its influence on mandible behavior. A cadaveric toothless mandible was used to build three computational models from CT scan information: a full cortical bone model; a cortical and cancellous bone model, and a model where the Young's modulus was obtained as function of the pixel value in a CT scan. Twelve muscle forces were applied on the mandible. Results showed that although all the models presented the same type of global behavior and proximity in some locations, the influence of cancellous bone can be seen in strain distribution. The different Young's modulus defined by the CT scan gray scale influenced the maximum and minimum strains. For modeling general behavior, a full cortical bone model can be effective. However, when cancellous bone is included, maximum values in thin regions increase the strain distribution. Results revealed that when properties are assigned to the gray scale some peaks could occur which did not represent the real situation.

이기거풍산(理氣祛風散)이 백서(白鼠)의 신경병리성(神經病理性) 동통(疼痛) 억제(抑制) 및 c-Fos 단백(蛋白) 발현(發顯)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Oral Administration of Ligigeopoongsan on Neuropathic Pain and c-Fos Protein Expression in Rats)

  • Objective : We have studied to know effects of Ligigeopoongsan(LGS, 理氣祛風散) on mechanical allodynia, cold allodynia and c-Fos protein expression in the model of neuropathic pain of rats. Methods : The model of neuropathic pain was made by injured tibial nerve and sural never while common peroneal never was maintained. After 2weeks, we performed behavioral test for 7 days to try out mechanical allodynia using von frey filament and cold allodynia using acetone, which are calculated by counting withdrawal response on foot. Rat brains removed and sliced on 8th days. Serial sections were immunohistochemically reacted with polyclonal c-Fos antibody. The numbers of c-Fos protein immunoreactive neurons in the central gray were examined using scion image program. Results : 1. Mechanical allodynia in LGS-2, LGS-3 groups were significantly diminished compared with the control group. 2. Cold allodynia in LGS-3 group was significantly diminished compared with the control group. 3. c-Fos protein expression on the central gray LGS-2, LGS-3 groups were significantly lower than that of control group. conclusions : We have noticed that LGS(理氣祛風散) diminished mechanical and cold allodynia in the model of neuropathic pain compared with the control group. c-Fos protein expression in the central gray of that group was also decreased compared with the control group. Pain control group were LGS was accumulated time goes by. This study can be used as a basic resource on a study and a treatment of pain.

원관내 유동에서의 복사 및 강제대류 열전달에 관한 연구 (Combined raidation-forced convection in a circular tube flow)

  • 본 연구에서는 원관내에서 복사에 관여하는 고온의 가스유동에 의한 복사열전 달과 대류열전달간의 상호작용에 대해 실험과 수치해석을 통하여 고찰하고자 한다. 실험으로는 프로판가스의 화염생성에 의한 속도, 온도 및 벽면에서의 열유속분포를 측 정하고, 수치적으로는 냉염(cold flame) 상태서 측정한 난류요동성분과 연소시의 입구 속도와 온도를 초기조건으로 하여 밀도와 점성계수의 온동에 따른 변화를 고려한 K-.epsilon. 모델과 구조화근사법 및 최근에 개발되어 사용되기 시작한 Weighted Sum of Gray Gas- es모델을 사용하여 속도, 온도 및 열유속 분포를 계산하여 수치해석의 결과와 실험결 과를 비교함으로써 모델의 타당성을 검증하고, 복사에 의한 열전달량과 대류에 의한 열전달량을 분리하여 각 모드가 온도분포 및 열유속분포에 미치는 영향을 고찰하고자 한다.
