In this study, a new method for the analysis of high-purity nitrogen was developed. A gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID) was used for purity analysis. Certified reference materials (CRMs) at a level of 3 µmol/mol of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane (CH4), which may exist in high-purity nitrogen, were prepared using the gravimetric method, and these CRMs were used for purity analysis. In this new method, ultra-high-purity and high-purity nitrogen were used as carrier gases. The impurities in high-purity nitrogen were quantitatively analyzed by comparing the differences in the area values of the GC chromatograms of the prepared CRMs. We purchased liquid nitrogen and three bottles of nitrogen gas, which were produced by three different manufacturers, using high-purity nitrogen. Furthermore, to validate the developed purity analysis method, the fraction of impurities in high-purity nitrogen was compared with the results of the typical purity analysis method. The comparison results were consistent within the expanded uncertainties (k = 2).

Analysis of pultrusion process for the thermosetting composites containing volatiles was performed. Degree of cure, amount of volatile evolved and pulling force were calculated for the processing variables such as die temperature and pulling speed. Cure kinetics was modeled from the data obtained by DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimeter). The volatile evolution kinetics was modeled from the data by DSC as well as TGA(Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer). The cure kinetics and volatile evolution kinetics models were incorporated into the energy equation. The resulting governing equation was solved using finite element method. Pulling force was calculated through the analysis of pressure developed inside the pultrusion die. Experiments were performed and the data were compared with the calculated results. Good agreements were observed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of application of microwave energy for the fabrication of polymer/clay nanocomposite. APES/Clay nanocomposites were prepared at 13$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min with various content of clay by melt-intercalation method under classical and microwave heating source. APES/Clay samples were characterized by the means of X-ray diffractometry(XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA), and rheometric dynamic analysis(RDA). It was found that intercalated or exfoliated state was obtained in the samples according to the condition of organic modification, clay content, and heating source.
A series of field experiment was conducted to find out error range and to compare precision based on error analysis of soil water content measured with gravimetric, surface & depth neutron and gypsum block methods in a sandy loam soil. The error of soil water content measured with gravimetric (core-sampling), surface and depth neutron method showed quardratic curve, whereas that with gypsum block was exponential curve in relation to soil water content. Within the range of volumetric soil water content from 11 to 33%, the error of soil water content measured with gravimetric, surface neutron, depth neutron and gypsum block method was ranged from 0.28 to 3.49%, 0.71 to 2.63%, 0.52% to 1.01% and 0.05 to 21.89%, respectively. The error of soil water content measured with depth neutron method was lower than those of other methods, when the soil water content was more than 14% in sandy loam soil. The relative number of replicates of soil water measurement for surface neutron, depth neutron and gypsum block method to attain same precision for gravimetric method was 0.6-1.7, 0.07-0.8 and 0.1-125, respectively.

If a country has her geoid model, it could be determine accurate orthometric height because the geoid model could provide continuous equi-gravity potential surface. And it is possible to improve the coordinates accuracy of national control points through geodetic network adjustment considering geoidal heights. This study aims to find the best way to develop geoid model in Philippines which have similar topographic conditions as like Malaysia and Indonesia in Eastsouth asia. So, in this study, it is surveyed the general theories of geoid determination and development cases of geoid model in Asia and it is computed that the geoidal heights and gravity anomalies by spherical harmonic analysis using EGM2008, the latest earth geopotential model. The results show that first, the development of gravimetric geoid model based on airborne gravimetry is needed and second, about 200 GPS surveying data at national benchmark is needed. It is concluded that it is the most reasonable way to develop the hybrid geoid model through fitting geometric geoid by GPS/leveling data to gravimetric geoid. Also, it is proposed that four band spherical Fast fourier transformation(FFT) method for evaluation of Stokes integration and remove and restore technique using EGM2008 and SRTM for calculation of gravimetric geoid model and least square collocation algorithm for calculation of hybrid geoid model.

Metal-carbon nanoreactors (MCNRs) were prepared from a pristine carbon cage (CC) using a simple and efficient template method with nano silica ball (NSB), pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO) and transition metals, such as palladium and gold. Metal nanoparticles were embedded in approximately 25 and 170 nm sized, highly ordered carbon cages. The newly developed Pd, Au and Au-Pd doped carbon nanoreactors were characterized by microanalysis, $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherm, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), transmission electron microscopy and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis. The ordered MCNRs have exhibited dynamic hydrogen adsorption capability compared to the carbon cage.

The experiment established optimal conditions for over-carbonization. With the use of the electron microscopy and X-ray phase analysis the regularities of carbon deposit formation in process of methane and propane pyrolysis on the zeolites, Kazakhstan natural clays, chrome and bauxite sludge containing metal oxides of iron subgroup, have been studied. In process of over-carbonization the trivalent iron was reduced to metal form. In addition, the carbon tubes of divers morphology had been impregnated with ultra-dispersed metal particles. The kinetic parameters of carbon formation in process of methane decomposition on the zeolite - CoO mixture surface were investigated by method of thermo-gravimetric analysis. The morphology and structure of formed carbon fibrils, with the metal particles fixed at their ends, have been investigated, the formation of branched carbon fibrils pattern, so called octopus, being found. Also, the walnut shells and grape kernel carbonization, their immobilization by the cells of selective absorption of heavy metal and sulfur dioxide ions have been studied. The example of metal-carbon composites used as adsorbents for wastewater purification, C$_3$- C$_4$ hydrocarbon cracking catalysts and refractory materials with improved properties have been considered.
