The effect of motion taping on the grasping power of the wrist is investigated and here Based on the data obtained from the This study was conducted to provide a theoretical background for the study. Motion taping was performed on the wrist for middle-aged people between 50s and 60s, and the change in wrist gripping power through an electronic dynamometer was tested. According to the wrist grip test results, it was investigated that the application of motion taping has a great effect on the gripping power of the wrist. It is hoped that motion taping will be a tool to reduce musculoskeletal industrial accidents, and it will be helpful to improve the quality of life of workers by reducing the labor intensity or softening the wrist through motion taping.
We propose a task and motion planning algorithm for clearing obstacles and wiping surfaces, which is essential for surface disinfection during the pathogen disinfection process. The proposed task and motion planning algorithm determines task parameters such as grasping pose and placement location during the planning process without using pre-specified or discretized values. Furthermore, to quickly inspect many unit motions, we propose a motion feasibility prediction algorithm consisting of collision checking and an SVM model for inverse mechanics and self-collision prediction. Planning time analysis shows that the feasibility prediction algorithm can significantly increase the planning speed and success rates in situations with multiple obstacles. Finally, we implemented a hierarchical control scheme to enable wiping motion while following a planner-generated joint trajectory. We verified our planning and control framework by conducted an obstacle-clearing and surface wiping experiment in a simulated disinfection environment.
This paper is the development of industrial robotic hand system and the design methods of industrial robot hand that can mimic human fingers motion. In order to overcome problems incurred during the reduction of the mobility, this study focuses on analyzing human hand structure and finger movements from an anatomical point of view. As a result, distinctive features that improve the discovered stability in constraints for range of motion in the fingers is reflected in this design concept. A 4-bar Linkage is used in robot finger structure. Lastly, there were experiments to inspect the developed robot hands performance. The developed robot hand has many potential applications and can be in many different fields.
This paper attempts to derive and analyze the dynamic system of pinching a rigid object by means of two multi-degrees-of-freedom robot fingers with soft and deformable tips. It is shown firstly that a set of differential equation describing dynamics system of the manipulators and object together with geometric constraint of tight area-contacts is formulated by Lagrange's equation. It is shown secondly that the problems of controlling both the forces of pressing object and the rotation angle of the object under the geometric constraints are discussed. In this paper, the control method for dynamic stable grasping and enhancing dexterity in manipulating things is proposed. It is illustrated by computer simulation that the control system gives the performance improvement in the dynamic stable grasping of the dual fingers robot with soft tips.
In this paper, a practical methodology of hand-manipulator motion coordination for indoor service robot is introduced. This paper describes the procedures of opening door performed by service robot as a noticeable example of motion coordination. This paper presents well-structured framework for hand-manipulator motion coordination, which includes intelligent sensor data interpretation, object shape estimation, optimal grasping, on-line motion planning and behavior-based task execution. This proposed approach is focused on how to integrate the respective functions in harmony and enable the robot to complete its operation under the limitation of usable resources. As a practical example of implementation, the successful experimental results in opening door whose geometric parameters are unknown beforehand are provided.
This research was conducted to biomechanically analyze Tippelt motion in parallel bars, and establish technical understanding. To achieve that goal, the performances of the Tippelt acts carried out by five world top-class national gymnasts in the parallel bars 3-dimensional cinematographic analysis and EMG analysis were conducted and following conclusion were obtained. The Tippelt motions of excellent national gymnasts perform tap motion through the down swing of a large circular movements, and perform kick-out motion rapidly extending shoulder joint angle and hip joint angle with the trunk in a position close to perpendicular position at the vertical downwardness of the grasping the bars. At this time, if handstand starting the movement is too delayed or rapidly down swung, it was shown that from the initial falling, unnecessary muscular power was wasted in trapezius, anterior deltoid, erector spinae, latissimus dorsi, upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis. The muscular parts in tap motion generating muscle action potential were pectoralis major, rectus femoris, upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis, and those in kick-out motion were upper rectus abdominis, lower rectus abdominis, trapezius and anterior deltoid.
The aim of this work for 5 years from 1994 is to develop a multi-fingered robot hand and its control system for grasp and manipulation of objects dexterously. Since the robot hand is still being developed, a commercialized robot hand from Barrett Company is utilized to implement a hand controller and control algorithm. For this, VME based motion control and interface boards are developed and multi-sensors such as encoder, force/torque sensor, dynamic sensor and artificial skin sensor are partly developed and employed for the grasping control algorithm. In oder to handle uncertainties such as mechanical idleness and backlash, a fuzzy rule based grasping algorithm is also considered and tested with the developed control system.

This paper aims to derive a mathematical model of the dynamics of handling tasks in field robot which stable grasping and manipulates a rigid object with some dexterity. Firstly, a set of differential equation describing dynamics of the manipulators and object together with geometric constraint of tight area-contacts is formulated by Lagrange equation. Secondly, problems of controlling both the internal force and the rotation angle of the grasped object under the constraints of area-contacts of tight area-contacts are discussed. The effect of geometric constraints of area-contacts on motion of the overall system is analyzed and a method of computer simulation for overall system of differential-algebraic equations is presented. Thirdly, simulation results are shown and the effects of geometric constraints of area-contact is discussed.
This paper presents an under-actuated robotic hand inspired by the ligamentous structure of the human hand for a prosthetic application. The joint mechanisms are based on the concept of a tensegrity structure formed by elastic strings. These rigid bodies and elastic strings in the mechanism emulate the phalanx bones and primary ligaments found in human finger joints. As a result, the proposed hand inherently possesses compliant characteristics, ensuring robust adaptability during grasping and when interacting with physical environments. For the practical implementation of the tensegrity-based joint mechanism, we detail the installation of the strings and the routing of the driving tendon, which are related to extension and flexion, respectively. Additionally, we have designed the palm structure of the proposed hand to facilitate opposition and tripod grips between the fingers and thumb, taking into account the transverse arch of the human palm. In conclusion, we tested a prototype of the proposed hand to evaluate its motion and grasping capabilities.
