JPEG 재압축이 컬러 이미지 품질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A study on the effect of JPEG recompression with the color image quality)

  • Joint photographic experts group (JPEG) is a standard still-image compression technique, established by the international organization for standardization (ISO) and international telecommunication standardization sector (ITUT). The standard is intended to be utilized in the various kinds of color still imaging systems as a standard color image coding format. Because JPEG is a lossy compression, the decompressed image pixel values are not the same as the value before compression. Various distortions of JPEG compression and JPEG recompression has been reported in various papers. The Image compressed by JPEG is often recompressed by same type compression method in JPEG. In general, JPEG is a lossy compression and the quality of compressed image is predicted that is varied in according to recompression Q-factor. In this paper, four difference color samples(photo image, gradient image, gradient image, vector drawing image, text image) were compressed in according to various Q-factor, and then the compressed images were recompressed according to various Q-factor once again. As the result, this paper evaluate the variation of image quality and file size in JPEG recompression and recommed the optimum recompression factor.

  • 인류가 등장한 이래 커뮤니케이션 수단으로서 많은 영상 디지털 미디어들이 성장하고 확장되어져 왔다. 영상디지털 미디어들은 수신자와 송신자 사이의 커뮤니케이션을 긴밀하게 한다. 미디어의 변화와 테크놀로지의 발전 속에 등장한 영상디지털 미디어는 시각과 청각의 결합을 통해 시각적 정보전달과 시간적 단축을 가져왔다. 이러한 영상 디지털 미디어의 발전 형태로 등장한 것이 모션그래픽이라는 분야이다. 모션그래픽의 발전은 기존의 미디어가 표현해 내지 못하는 다양한 형태의 영상기법과 표현효과를 가능하게 하고 있다. 특히 영화의 타이들, 텔레비전의 프로그램 타이틀, 그리고 광고를 비롯한 뮤직비디오 등 다양한 분야에 활용되고 있다. 이러한 영상표현기법들은 수용자들의 감성을 자극하여 감성커뮤니케이션적인 작용 또한 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 모션그래픽이 수용자들에게 얼마만큼 효과적인 의미전달 매체로서 중요한 역할을 하는지에 대해 그 특성을 알아보고, 모션그래픽이 감성커뮤니케이션 수단으로서 수용자들에게 미치는 영향과 적용을 사례연구를 통하여 연구해 보고자 한다.

도공지 물성 변화와 IPA에 의한 잉크 유화가 인쇄 모틀에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Properties Changing of Coated Paper and Ink Emulsion of IPA on Printed Mottle)

  • Printed mottle of coated paper is one of the most common phenomenon and the most difficult problem in offset printing. Offset printing is processed mainly processed by the attractive properties between water and oil, so all inks for off-printing must work with dampening solution(water). It may cause the emulsion on the printing nip from the printing pressure. This study aimed to investigate the effect of emulsified inks on print mottle from emulsified cyan ink by force with each different IP A contents. We measured the print mottle by densitometer and image analysis method. The emulsified inks also give effect to now properties of inks and it caused more ink transfer rate, however, it caused low density of inks. Moreover the emulsified inks were spreaded to around of dots and cause the thinning density on the non-printing area like print mottle. The results showed that the emulsified inks also cause scumming on the printing result with little mistake of adjusting dampening solution and mostly decreasing dot reproduction. So we could find out the obvious effect of emulsified inks to print mottle.

  • In DTP systems, satisfactory matching the appearance of displayed image on CRT and that of a reproduced binary image is very important. Most halftoning techniques assume that the printed color dots are square. However, most printers produce roughly circular dots. Thus, there is overlap between adjacent dots, and dots accupy adjcent space that should be empty space. These results are because the significant image distortion on the reproduced images. In this paper, we proposed a new tone correction digital halftoning method based on equi-visual perception characteristic.

  • In this paper, a new semi-automated cyber character generating method is presented. Local edge detection tools extract face contour from graphic image files. Some graphic manipulation process detailed touch to obtain neat face contour. This method shortens the making process dramatically while maintaining the good quality similar to real face image. Some of the processed images are illustrated for clear explanation.

  • Commercially available paper stickers, electrostatic stickers, and metal sticker generally involve process of printing on the substrate and die-cutting to peel the sticker off the release paper. Using plastisol ink and multi-layer screen printing technique, a process of non die-cutting sticker with same image on both sides was developed. It was also possible to prevent color mixing phenomena at image edge part by printing narrow lines of black ink along the borderline.

  • We synthesised 1,3-Diphenyl-5-pyren-2-yl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole(DPP) and investigated its optical properties. The structure of DPP was confirmed by GC-Mass and elemental analysis. The absorption and photoluminescent spectra of DPP were measured at both hydrophobic and hydrophilic solvents and by the stokes shifts of DPP Lippert's equation could be applied. The results showed linear relation between $[{\varepsilon}-1/2{\varepsilon}+1)-(n^2-1/2n^2+1)]$ and $({\mu}_g\;-\;{\mu}_2)^2$.

  • It wouldn't be exaggerating to say that we're living in a "Brand age" these days. Brand is easily spotted anywhere around our surroundings, influencing us in a material and a moral way. BI(Brand Identity) which brings increase on sales by constructing and improving the brand image, are infect visually compressed Identity designs that will give the interior space that have applied it, superiority in building a unified image. Then, graphic plays an important role in expressing Identity designs visually. These days, interior space graphic is an emotional field that can materialize images, which became an important expressing medium that offers various images and creativity and show interior space's brand identity. In this manner, space graphic that applies identity designs, clearly states brand's intentions on space communication and users by designing company images or brand's emotional factors visually and dimensionally. Also, it escapes plane level, and gives space, dimensional and kinetic elements, which can give differentiation with other brand's space. These kinds of flexibility let space graphic be used efficiently in extending space identity.

전기적 특성을 이용한 UV 경화 프로세스에 대한 새로운 평가방법(II) (A new evaluation method of UV curing process by using electrical properties(II))

  • A novel evaluation method is investigated for measuring the ability of acid amplification of acid amplifier. The method is based on the measurement of conductivity change by the acid generation according to UV radiation. It is found that the decrease of conductivity is caused by photopolymerization of epoxy monomer during UV curing process of ink film and the by the rate of UV curing. In this paper, the novel acid amplifiers were synthesized and measured thermal stability by means of DSC. It was found that mono-type acid amplifiers were more stable than di-type. It is possible to make the dynamical evaluation the curing rate of UV curable ink in curing process by this method.

국산 CTP 판재 개발에 관한 연구 (The Study of the Domestic CTP Plate Development)

  • Computer to plate technology(CTP) have become fully commercial. The current wide range of computer to plate system and plate makes many potential customers insecure. This process which began around 1995 has now been successfully completed, so that a wide variety of high performance systems is available. The computer to plate method of producing printing plates eliminates films from the production process, thus reducing costs and shortening production times. To discover the optimization formulation of sensitized materials we were changed formulation of resin and violet solution in thermal sensitizers. Also we were analyzed the CTP plate's surface and the result of coating and development at each sample. we were analyzed the effects of development condition as temperature and speed, the plate wear of printing test in C, M, Y, Bk ink. This paper aims to find out suitable ways that we can develop a domestic CTP plate.
