  • In this paper, we design implement an Object-Oriented Graphic System Configuration Editor for Access Control Systems. 'Visual Builder', with such functions as graphic drawing, system configuration, graphic management, processing of user input through graphics. Visual Builder is designed to be well separated from and independent of S/W parts closely coupled with the underlying H/W and thus to improve its reusability and maintainability.

  • Public environment including urban circumstances has taken on importance in that it could be nation's cultural powers latent these days. Also, today's study on the field of environment design so far has mainly focused on the fields of architecture and urban panning, while its consideration as the complex of various cultural factors is not enough yet. In addition, because study on the urban super graphic which greatly servos as communication between people and environment is not enough, super graphic has not arose enough public response in reality. The purpose of this thesis is to make super graphic revitalize as the meads of communication from the viewpoint of art, information arid aesthetics by looking into relationship between super graphic and contemporary art motivated in developing process. And This thesis is made studied relationship between super graphic and contemporary art divided into modernism art and post-modernism art.

  • The development of personal computers and the Internet led to changes of instructor-student and student-student relationships in design education. New resources of design education with proper materials and tools have to be offered for teaching and learning. The purpose of this research is to develop Basic Graphic Tools(BGTs) on screen that help students to practice the design principles, and to evaluate the BGTs' usability to enhance the credibility of extra tools for online design learning. The BGTs has to be developed to minimize the gap between the online and traditional classroom settings and to maximize the diverse advantage of lecture content driven from technology. Students were given certain design requirements to explore BGTs and a learning guide/performance test after the lecture to evaluate the tools. The test was performed under the e-learning program serviced by C college. This research has presented some encouraging results and raises questions toward future work: how do BGTs impact the feasibility of an online design lecture.

  • Graphic thinking for the idea sketches brings about variations between abstract realm and concrete one, and between conceptual realm and perceptual one. When design information is projected to the thinking process, some images are generated, and transformed. We reviewed the sketching devices for computerization to deal with a lot of design data in the computing environment. The LCD Tablet can be a substitute for the Pen & Paper to get rid of irksome tasks at handling the design data. Using a protocol analysis technique, we examined the influences of different design information, which is consisted of verbal concepts and/or visual images, and abstract information and/or concrete one. The findings show that there are no significant differences of influences between verbal/visual information and abstract concrete information at the conceptual design. These facts support that graphic thinking process is progressed with the perceptual and mental image.

  • In the integrated systems, that is integrated digital TV(DTV) internet and home automation, like home server, is needed integration of digital TV video signal and computer graphic signal. The graphic signal is operating at the high speed and has time-divide-stream. So the re-request of data is not easy at the time of error detection. therefore EDAC algorithm is efficient. In this paper, we show a scheme, that is integration of graphic and dtv format signal for DTV monitor display. This paper also presents the efficiency error detection auto correction(EDAC) for conversion of graphics signal to DTV video signal. A presented EDAC algorithms use the modified hamming code for enhancing video quality and reliability. A EDAC algorithm of this paper can detect single error, double error, triple error and more error for preventing from incorrect correction. And it is not necessary an additional memory. In this paper The comparison between digital TV video signal and graphic signal, a EDAC algorithm and a design of conversion graphic signal to DTV signal with EDAC function in DTV system is described.

  • This research has started from a critical mind that raised a question how we will view the minimal tendencies of graphic design in historical context that is newly raised again after the late 1990s. In chapter 1, I examined the main ideas of the twentieth century such as "Less is more", "Less is boring", and "I believe in less and more". In chapter 2, I studied the minimal tendencies and the distinctions in graphic design by chronological order. 1 became to think that the recent minimal tendencies of graphic design appears naturally in the process of newly redefining ones specialty and identity from accepting the rapidly changing of social/cultural/technical changes rather than being temporary trend, Furthermore, I realized that considering the distinctiveness of design field, the research of the forms and styles of design itself is as an important and too much urgent task as the contents or ideological characters of designeological characters of design

  • The game industry, which is based on high technology, requires specialized personnel. In particular, game graphic design, which occupies the visual area of games, is a fusion of technology and design. In this study, we classify and analyze the curriculum status of US and Korean game - related universities, which is the world 's top game industry. US universities ranked 10 universities in the ranking through official evaluation agencies, and Korea compared 10 universities with relatively well-publicized educational courses through the official homepage. In this analysis, it is necessary to study the curriculum that can complement the creativity and flexibility of game graphic design course by preparing creative subjects for securing professors who have experience in field work and developing various game graphic designs.
