AlN plates were fabricated by hot pressing at $1700-1900^{\circ}C$ using yttria and alumina (3 and $10\;{\mu}m$ particle size) powders as additives and characterized: density, thermal conductivity, transverse rupture strength, and grain size measurement by SEM and EDS. Density values of $3.31-3.34\;g/cm^3$ are largely attributed to hot pressing of powder mixtures in carbon mold under $N_2$ atmosphere which caused effective degree of oxygen removal from yttrium-aluminate phase expected to form at $1100^{\circ}C$. The grain size of hot pressed AlN was almost homogeneous, with size approximately from 3.2 to $4.0\;{\mu}m$ after hot pressing. $Al_2O_3$ powder of $3\;{\mu}m$ particle size resulted in better transverse rupture strength and finer grain size compared to $10\;{\mu}m$$Al_2O_3$ powder. The thermal conductivity of AlN ranged between $83-92.7\;W/m{\cdot}K$ and decreased with $Al_2O_3$ addition. Fine grain size is preferred for better mechanical properties and thermal conductivity.

Yuzu (Citrus junos) undergoes traditional processing to create preserved yuzu with a sugar content of 50%. This study aimed to produce low-sugar yuzu syrup using artificial or natural sweeteners instead of sugar. Among artificial sweeteners, maltitol showed minimal browning and lack of deposition at high temperatures. The addition of xanthan gum (0.2%) and carboxymethyl cellulose (0.2%) resolved the issue of layer separation and viscosity decrease of yuzu syrup. Alternatively, grain syrup, a natural sweetener, improved viscosity and homogeneity without the additives. Yuzu syrups were developed using yuzu juice and preserved yuzu, with maltitol (20~40%) or grain syrup (50~70%) as the sweetener. Yuzu syrups containing 35% maltitol (M35) or 55% grain syrup (G55) had less than 5% and 10% free sugar, respectively. These syrups exhibited taste patterns similar to commercial yuzu syrup in analysis using an electronic tongue. Furthermore, M35 and G55 contained yuzu flavonoids at concentrations of 19.82 mg/g and 24.09 mg/g, respectively. Antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging) of M35 and G55 was equivalent to 10.55, 17.59 mg/100 g of Vitamin C and 97.39, 33.92 mg/100 g of Vitamin C, respectively. Consequently, M35 and G55 offer promising alternatives to preserved yuzu, providing low-sugar yuzu syrups enriched with functional ingredients.
The effects of microstructures and some additives $(CoO and Al_2O_3$) on the magnetic properties such as initial permeability, $\mu$-T curve, coercive force, and magnetic induction of MnZn ferrites have been studied. The powder was prepared by Hot Petroleum Drying Method. The basic composition of MnZn ferrites was 25.5mole % MnO, 22.0 mole% ZnO, 52.5 mole% $Fe_2O_3$. CoO in a concentration range from 0.05 to 0.5 mole% and $Al_2O_3$ from 2.5 to 7.5 mole% were added. Sintered density increased up to 97.5% of theoretical density. Permeability increased as average grain size increased, and that coercive force decreased as average grian size increased. Magnetic induction increased as sintered density increased. The variation of initial permeability with temperature in a temperature range from 0$^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}C$ was lowered (a flatter $\mu-T$ curve) as sintering temperature decreased. The compensation temperature To ofmagnetocrystalline anisotropy constant K1 and initial permeability varied with the species and amount of additives. When 0.05 mole% CoO was added to the basic composition, initial permeability at $15^{\circ}C$ increased from 5200 to 5900. The variation ofinitial permeability with temperature in a temperature range from 0^{\circ}to $60^{\circ}C$ was smaller (a flatter $\mu$-T curve) than that of the basic composition of Mn Zn ferrites. When 2.5 mole% $Al_2O_3$ was added, initial permeability at $15^{\circ}C$ decreased from 5200 to 3000. But the variation of initial permeability with temperature in a temperature range from 0$^{\circ}$to $60^{\circ}C$ was smaller (a flat ter $\mu-T$ curve) than when 0.05 mole% CoO was added. Experimental results showed that the conditions necessary for the occurrence of a very high permeability and a flat $\mu$-T curve were controversial even in a temperature range from $0^{\circ}$to $60^{\circ}C$.
Microstructure, room temperature resistivity and temperature coefficient of resistance of BaTiO3 ceramics were characterized and measured in this study. The basic composition of the BaTiO3 cremics was formed by adding 0.25 mol% Dy2O3 and 0.07 mol% MnO2 to the BaTiO3 composition. Samples of the BaTiO3 ceramics were prepared by adding various amounts of the TiO2, SiO2 and Al2O3 to the basic composition. An addition of 1 mol% TiO2, 2 mol% SiO2 and 0.5 mol% Al2O3 to the basic composition resulted both the values of the room temperature resistivity and the temperatured coefficient being maxium. Meanwhile, an addition of 1 mol% TiO2 and 1 mol% Al2O3 to the basic composition resulted the value of the room temperature resistivity maxium and the temperature coefficient minimum. The temperature coefficient showed a maximum value as well as a minimum value when the three kinds of the additives were added together to the basic composition of the BaTiO3 ceramics. Maxed phases of BaTi3O7, BaTiSiO5 and BaAl2Si2O8 were present at the grain boundary.
Effects of sintering additives and sintering temperatures on the sintering behavior and mechanical properties of SiC whisker reinforced alumina composites have been investigated in this study. Dense (>95% TD) composites were obtained by using 2 wt% $Y_2O_3$ as liquid phase sintering additive. But only porous composite could be obtained when the sintering additives were MgO and $TiO_2$, which were known as the sintering additives for solid state sintering of alumina. Bending strength and fracture toughness were enhanced by reinforcement of SiC whisker. It is belived from the microstructure investigation that the enhanced by strength and toughness could be attribute to the reinforcing and grain growth inhibition effects of SiC whisker. After HIP treatment, fully dense composites were obtained and further enhanced mechanical properties achieved.
This paper represents the physical and engineering characteristics of admixed liners obtained from several laboratory tests. Fly ash and weathered granitic soil are selected as primary materials, and bentonite and cement are used as additives. The results show that the maximum dry density reaches peak values at 5% and 25% of bentonite for Seochon and Samchonpo fly ash respectively, and for the weathered granitic soil, the maximum dry density increases continuously as the amount of bentonite increases. The strength of the admixed materials is not sensitive to the bentonite content, although it increases when the additives is cement. The required amount of bentonite to reach the hydraulic conductivity less than 10-7cm/sec are 18, 30, 10% of the sample weights for Seochon and Samchonpo fly ashes and the weathered granitic soil. The amount of additives show significant differences and depend on the grain size and their distributions and the amount of fine content in the primary materials

The composites were fabricated 61[vol.%] ${\beta}$-SiC and 39[vol.%] $TiB_2$ powders with the liquid forming additives of 8, 12, 16[wt%] $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ as a sintering aid by pressureless annealing at 1650[$^{\circ}C$] for 4 hours. The present study investigated the influence of the content of $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ sintering additives on the microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of the pressureless annealed SiC-$TiB_2$ electroconductive ceramic composites. Reactions between SiC and transition metal $TiB_2$ were not observed in the microstructure and the phase analysis of the pressureless annealed SiC-$TiB_2$ electroconductive ceramic composites. Phase analysis of SiC-$TiB_2$ composites by XRD revealed mostly of ${\alpha}$-SiC(6H), ${\beta}$-SiC(3C), $TiB_2$, and In Situ YAG($Al_2Y_3O_{12}$). The relative density of SiC-$TiB_2$ composites was lowered due to gaseous products of the result of reaction between SiC and $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$. There is another reason which pressureless annealed temperature 1650[$^{\circ}C$] is lower $300{\sim}450[^{\circ}C]$ than applied pressure sintering temperature $1950{\sim}2100[^{\circ}C]$. The relative density, the flexural strength, the Young's modulus and the Vicker's hardness showed the highest value of 82.29[%], 189.5[Mpa], 54.60[Gpa] and 2.84[Gpa] for SiC-$TiB_2$ composites added with 16[wt%] $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ additives at room temperature. Abnormal grain growth takes place during phase transformation from ${\beta}$-SiC into ${\alpha}$-SiC was correlated with In Situ YAG phase by reaction between $Al_2O_3$ and $Y_2O_3$ additive during sintering. The electrical resistivity showed the lowest value of 0.0117[${\Omega}{\cdot}cm$] for 16[wt%] $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ additives at 25[$^{\circ}C$]. The electrical resistivity was all negative temperature coefficient resistance (NTCR) in the temperature ranges from $25^{\circ}C$ to 700[$^{\circ}C$]. The resistance temperature coefficient of composite showed the lowest value of $-2.3{\times}10^{-3}[^{\circ}C]^{-1}$ for 16[wt%] additives in the temperature ranges from 25[$^{\circ}C$] to 100[$^{\circ}C$].

Contamination of agricultural crops by mycotoxins results in significant economic losses for grain producers and, when consumed, it can cause reduced growth and health in a wide range of animal species. Hundreds of mycotoxin producing molds exist, however each has a different frequency and pattern of occurrence, as well as differences in the severity of the diseases (mycotoxicoses) they cause. Among the mycotoxins considered to be major contaminates are aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol, fumonisin, ochratoxin, and zearalenone. Although a multitude of species can be harmed by consumption of these mycotoxins, swine appear to be the most commonly affected commodity species. The swine industry can thus experience great losses due to the presence of mycotoxin contamination in feeds. Subsequently, recognition and prevention of mycotoxicoses is extremely important and dependent on adequate grain sampling and analysis methods pre-harvest, as well as effective strategies post-harvest to reduce consumption by animals. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of the major mycotoxin contaminants in grains, to describe methods of analysis and prevention to reduce mycotoxicoses in swine and other animals, and finally to discuss how mycotoxins directly affect swine production.

$Si_3N_4$ powder with 2 wt% $Al_2O_3$ and 6 wt% $Y_2O_3$additives was gas pressure sintered (GPS). Characterization of the mechanical properties was compared with sintering conditions (temperature, pressure, time). Based on experimental result , the optimal condition of gas pressure sintering was found at $1900^{\circ}C$, 3 MPa for 1 hour. It is assumed that mechanical properties were degraded due to the grain coasening effects with increasing temperature or holding time. However, the grain size was decreased with increasing pressure, resulted in better strength, but lower fracture toughness. Present results suggested that optimization of processing parameters was impotant for better mechanical properties of $Si_3N_4$.
$Si_3N_4$ powder with 2wt% $Al_2O_3$ and 6wt% $Y_2O_3$ additives was sintered by gas pressure sintering (GPS) technique. The variations in the unlubricated wear behavior depending on sintering time were compared. Tribological properties depending on sintering time are associated with fracture toughness as well as flexural strength of materials. When increasing the sintering time, the larger elongated grains were formed as a result of exaggerated grain growth. As the fracture toughness and flexural strength decreased, the wear volume increased. On the basis of these experimental results, the unlubricated wear properties of silicon nitride were found to be governed mostly by both the fracture toughness and the flexural strength of the material.
