The direct payment program for rural landscape conservation in practice since 2005. Recently it is the policy or plan of direct payment for rural landscape conservation attracts great interests as they may help rural people who are very disadvantaged. This paper presents the status of the direct payment program for landscape conservation in rural area and proposed improvements to the program as following; 1) to diversify the plant species, 2) to include other rural elements than plants, 3) to enlarge the areas of crop plantation, 4) to simplify and clarify application process. We sampled two pilot programs, one of spring flower crop and the other of autumn flower crop, and questionnaire surveyed visitors, local government officers and farmers in order to find problems and suggest improvements.

As the instability of international societies on the energy resources has increasingly been deepened due to excessive use of fossil fuels, the importance of energy saving and global environment protection has highlighted, So the interests in environment-friendly and stable new & renewable energy have been dramatically increased. The studies on reconstructing the old-fashioned towns economically, socially and physically have been also significantly increased. In this urban regeneration, renewable-energy using systems were aggressively applied to overcome the energy and environmental problems of the existing towns. There have been many of studies on the compound applications of the renewable-energy using systems in the advanced countries while they are insufficient in Korea. As a preliminary study of urban renewable-energy using system development, this paper surveyed the foreign cases applied to key technologies such as geothermal energy, hydrogen fuel cell and bioenergy among the renewable-energies in urban built environment.

The floor material is known as the most influential emission source of the residential building, because most floor material is made of wood compound and adhesive like a plywood flooring. Moreover, floor heating system keeps the inside temperature of the material high. As the emission of hazardous chemical compound from the construction material is influenced by many factors, it is necessary to analyze the emission characteristics of the floor material to improve IAQ. In this study, numerical analysis is performed to investigate the emission characteristics of the floor material affected by several factors such as temperature, air exchange rate, initial concentration, and internal diffusion coefficient. A simulation program is also written based on the mass transfer theory. The simulation results show that there is some level of difference on the TVOC concentration when each of the factors is variable.
