This study aims to examine the gender characteristics depending on golfers' criteria of choosing golf-wear and to identify the differences in consumption propensity. The research methodology was through the use of questionnaires, completed by golfers in Gyeongnam. As a result of examining the gender differences in the criteria of choosing golf-wear, it has been found that female golfers give more considerations to suitability to body, care convenience, and functionality than male golfers do when choosing golf-wear. As a result of analyzing the factors regarding the consumption propensity of golf-wear, they are categorized into ostentaion, fashion, aesthetic appreciation and practicality. According to the consumption propensity, male golfers were classified into three groups: ostentatious perfection, practical, common group. Female golfer were classified into three groups: practical, common, ostentatious perfection group. Groups of men golfers showed significant differences in the factors of ostentation, fashion and aesthetic appreciation of the consumption propensity. Groups of women golfers, however, showed significant differences in the factors of ostentation and practicality of the consumption propensity. It is considered that marketers need to develop golf-wear according to the gender characteristics by referring to the fact that choice criteria differ according to gender and consumption propensity.
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the muscle activations between the professional golfers without low back pain symptom and the professional golfers with low back pain symptom, and so identify the stress related to golf swings, and provide the basic data to minimize the low back pain and the injury risk. Using surface electrode electromyography, we evaluated muscle activity in 6 male professional golfers during the golf drive swing. Surface electrodes were used to record the level of muscle activity in the Abdominal Oblique, Elector Spinae, Rectus Abdominis, Gluteus Maximus muscles during the golfer's swing. These signals were compared with %RVC(Reference voluntary contraction) which was normalized by IEMG(Integrated EMG). The golf swing was divided into five phases: take away, forward swing, acceleration, early follow through, late follow through. we observed patterns of trunk muscle activity throughout five phases of the golf swing. The results can be summarized as follows: RES(Right Elector Spinae) had statistically significant difference in take away phase, LGM(Left Gluteus Maximus), LRA(Left Rectus Abdominis), LOA(Left Oblique Abdominal) had statistically significant difference in forward swing phase, RES(Right Elector Spinae), RGM(Right Gluteus Maximus), ROA(Right Oblique Abdominal) had statistically significant difference in acceleration phase, RES(Right Elector Spinae), RGM(Right Gluteus Maximus) had statistically significant difference in early follow-through phase, LES(Left Elector Spinae), RGM(Right Gluteus Maximus) had statistically significant difference in late follow through phase.

The aim of this research is to investigate the demographic characteristics of the purchase tendencies and shopping trends amongst female golfers and how these are influenced by their life style and to analyse their selection criteria for purchases of golf-related items. The research methodology was through the use of questionnaires, completed by female golfers in Gyeongnam. The results are as follows: life style trends of male golfers were analysed to be categorized into one of the following: the shopping-addicted, fashion-conscious, rationalist and family oriented spenders. The characteristics of these categories are described as one of the following: utilitarian-complacent, rationalist, self-worshipping, inconsiderate. The demographic characteristics showed notable variations only in age differences. The obtained results show that the influences of the variables are minimal and there was no notable correlation. Significant differences were observed from one life style group to another, in selection criteria for purchase, which mainly depended on style, design, colour, pattern, designer-label, co-ordinated looks, similarity, ease of maintenance and functionality. Comparisons were made between the previously categorized life-style-groups and notable differences were present in such characteristics as ostentatious, trendy, aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Clay-shoveler's fractures are rare stress-type avulsion fractures of the spinous processes especially in sports. There have been two case reports that discussed clay-shoveler's fractures in golf. A 36-year-old beginner golfer presented with a pain in the back after practicing golf swing. No fractures were detected using cervical radiography; however, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed T2~T3 spinous process fractures. The patient was treated conservatively and his pain subsided. The mechanism of injury is speculated to that of clay-shoveler's fractures. Therefore, if a golfer suffers persistent pain in the cervicothoracic region, clay-shoveler's fracture is one possibility to consider.
Putting score counts about 43 % of the golf score. The dominant idea of the putting motion to amateur golfers as well as to many professional golfers is a pendulum-like motion. If a golfer's putting stroke motion is a pendulum-like motion, the putting motion should be straight-back-and-through, the same backswing, downswing, and follow through length and period, and a swing with a fixed hinge joint. If the putting motions of the human are different from the pendulum motion, there could be confusion in understanding and teaching golf putting. The purpose of this study was to examine the center of rotation(COR) of the putter head to reveal whether professional golfers really putt like a pendulum. Thirteen male professional golfers were recruited for the study. Each golfers executed 10.94 m putts six times on an artificial grass mat. Putter head position data were collected through a 60 Hz three-dimensional motion analysis system and low pass filtered with cut-off frequency of 6 Hz. COR of the putter head was mathematically acquired. Each golfer's last five putting motions were considered. The results show that the COR of the putter head was neither fixed nor located inside of the golfer. The medio-lateral directional component of the COR of the putter head fluctuated in the range of 10 cm during downswing and follow through. The anterior-posterior directional component of the COR of the putter head was fixed from the beginning of the downswing through impact. Just after impact, however, it moved to the target up to 60 cm. The superior-inferior directional component of COR of the putter head moved in a superior direction with the beginning of the downswing and showed peak height just prior to impact. During the follow through, it moved back in an inferior direction. The height-normalized peak value of the COR of the putter head was $1.4{\pm}0.3$ height. Technically speaking, male professional golfers' 10.94 m putting motion is not a pendulum-like motion. The dominating idea of a pendulum-like motion in putting might come from the image of the flawless, smooth motion of a pendulum.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimum driver selection according to shaft intensity, shaft length and shaft weight that are determining factors of driver shot. To achieve the above purpose, the subject were participate with handicap zero 10 male pro golfer and mean score 90(handicap about 18) amateur 10 male golfer. The used club limited number 1 driver, we tested 24 driver which is shaft intensity, length, weight, total weight and swing weight. Dependent variable was strike ball speed, flying distance and head speed. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, There is a significantly difference in CPM. Ball speed, head speed and flying distance according to driver shaft intensity were found to be the best when CPM is 230<. Second, There is a significantly difference in shaft length. Ball speed, and head speed according to driver shaft length were found to be the best at 46 inch and flying distance were found to be the best at 45 inch. Third, There is not significantly difference in SW. Ball speed and flying distance according to driver shaft weight were found to be the best with 65g. In the case of head speed, it was the fastest with 50g shaft. Four, total variables were significantly difference between in pro and amateur golfer. In conclusion, there would be differences in individual physical condition but the best result was found with a driver of CPM 230<, shaft length 46inch, and shaft weight 65g.

Most golfers believe that knowing yardages will improve their score. Certainly it helps with club selection. But, simple "Graphic" yardage guides being notorious for error and inaccuracies, which a serious golfer will pick immediately, only serve to erode the players enjoyment and ultimately, golf course satisfaction. Someone believes with low-level aerial photographic images, golfer will be impressed with the accuracy of the depiction, helping them play a more confident game. But, there are no mapping products in true 3-D available in the world that allows a golfer to determine shot distances in yards or meters. So, we suggest an lenticular technology for real 3-D display as a viable alternative to conventional image map solution. This technology is an image display method for the generation of multi-image effects like 3D visualization or animation. This methodology is cutting edge stereoscopic image which overcomes the limitation of conventional photo tech by recomposing and producing 3 dimensional images. A significant strength of this methods its versatility concerning display effects. The main use of the hardcopy 3-D lenticular displays is in the fields of science, education, planning, and representation. This paper gives a concise overview of the lenticular foil technology and describes the production of the true 3-D yardage book of golf courses. For this study, 3-D effects are achieved and evaluated with the lenticular display by incorporation multiple synthetic images based on digital topographic terrain model and by using the two images of the actual stereopair.
This paper explains the system which finds the data of the joint of Wire Frame(that express the body structure of the golfer) from standard golf swing movie. Also, this paper used interpolation and the method which modify the distance between a joint and a close joint to general new joint data. Last this paper explains the system that make a standard golf swing attitude by continuous display the static attitude(which are formed with Wire Frame) of golf swing operations.
In this study, weight carrying pattern analysis and comparison method of four foot region were suggested. We used three types of club(driver, iron7, pitching wedge). This analysis method can compare between top class golfer and beginner. And the comparison data can be used to correct the swing pose of trainee. If motion analysis system, which can measure the swing speed and instantaneous acceleration at the point of hitting a ball, is combined with this plantar foot force analysis method, new design development of golf shoes to increase comfort and ball flight distance will be available. 1. Regional change of force acting, in address, is evenly distributed on both feet. In back swing top, 76% on right foot, 75% on left foot as impact, and 86% on left foot as finish. As regional force acting, in address, pros get high marks on rare and inside of right foot and rare and outside for amateurs. In back swing top, it is higher as fore and inside of left foot, pros as rare part of right foot and amateurs as forefoot. In impact, it is higher for pros and amateurs in outside and rare part of left foot and fore and inside of right foot. In finish, for both pros and amateurs, it is higher for outside and rare parts of left foot. 2. For each club, forces are evenly distributed on both feet in address. In back swing top, the shorter a club is, the higher impact on right foot and the higher finish distribution on left foot. For all the clubs used, in each region, pros get higher on rare and inside of right foot and as amateurs on rare and outside of left foot in address. In back swing top, for all clubs, pros get higher on rare and outside of right foot as fore and outside for amateurs. In impact acting, for all clubs, rare and outside of left foot get higher. In finish, force concentrates on rarefoot. 3. On both feet force, right foot forces of amateurs is higher than those of pros in back swing top. In impact and finish, pros get higher on left foot.
The purpose of this study was to develop an auxiliary device useful for promoting continued participation in the golf among young golfers and female beginner-level golfers who were gradually increasing in number but often losing interest in the golf and gave up playing golf due to difficulty with posture, boredom from golf itself, slow improvement of skill, etc., in the process of learning the golf. For that, a hardware device fitted with various sensors was attached to the lower part of golf club grip to develop a platform capable of collecting and transmitting the data on each golfer's swing posture, driving distance, etc. If a smartphone app, which can analyze and store those data, is developed and synchronized, each golfer's postures can be identified and golfers can correct the posture on their own. Moreover, the smartphone app provides the contents for self-comparison and comparison with others and will be able to infuse the beginner-level golfers with internal motivation for continued participation in the golfing exercise if the game-type elements are added.
