Study methods were as follows. In literature review, the domestic golf industry, golf culture, and house caddie uniforms as one of golf course CI elements were investigated. In empirical study, the formativeness of domestic golf course CI and house caddie uniforms was analyzed. Then, house caddie uniforms were developed using CI which is the symbolic element of a golf course. A concept for uniforms design development was 'Golf & Culture Communication' to symbolically represent an image of IT-based total golf culture club. It was limited to female uniforms design for spring or autumn that is high in application. A symbol and a logo which are symbolic elements of a golf course were freely worn in the form of a brooch. Purpose - Most studies related to emotional labor have been conducted in the low-contact service industry rather than the high-contact service industry. Since the subjects of this study were golf service assistants, working in an industry in which the interaction and contact between customers and employees are considerable and the degree of customization is high, this study is significant. Thus, we would like to focus on the relationship between the humor style of golf service assistants and emotional labor. Humor style was divided into two styles-adaptive humor and maladaptive humor. Emotional labor was divided into two dimensions-surface acting and deep acting. In addition, we identify the relationship between emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. Research design, data, & methodology - This study focuses on the humor styles in the golf service industry, among golf service assistants, on their emotion labor, and verifies the relationship between emotion labor and work satisfaction or job turnover intention. Based on the outcome, a total of four hypotheses were set up. To verify the hypotheses, surveys were conducted on the golf service assistants working in two golf fields in the region of Busan as well as its neighboring area. A total of 250 copies of the questionnaire were distributed. Subsequently, a total of 227 valid questionnaire copies, after excluding improper responses, were used in the analysis. After verifying the reliability and feasibility of variances, Amos 18.0 was used to implement the structure method so as to verify the study hypotheses. As a result of this analysis, the suitability of the entire model was considerably appropriate to the standard value, and the level is adequate to accommodate the study model completely. Results - First, it was found that the adaptive humor of golf service assistants had a positive effect on deep acting and maladaptive humor had a positive effect on surface acting. Second, It was found that employees' satisfaction with their job was reduced through surface acting, and those employees who experienced positive emotional labor in the form of deep acting were more satisfied with their job. Third, surface acting among employees increased turnover intention, but deep acting reduced it. Finally, the relationship between job satisfaction and the turnover intention of golf service assistants in the golf service industry was examined. Conclusions - First, the adaptive humor of the golf assistants in the golf service industry had a positive effect on their expression behavior. Second, deep acting increased their job satisfaction while their surface acting had a noticeably negative effect on their job satisfaction. Third, the surface acting of the emotion labor dimensions that the golf service assistants experience increases their turnover intention while their deep acting decreases their turnover intention. Finally, when analyzing the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention of the golf service assistants, it was found that the turnover intention decreased when their job satisfaction is increased.
The demands of golf car is being increased with increment in golf population, gradually proceeding to the trend of popularization, but domestic golf car industry is not so mature as it cope with the need of this market appropriately. Most import golf cars of high price have occupied the domestic market from the viewpoint of the its demands. Although the import golf car provided bad after-sales services and very expensive components, those demand's breadth continue to rise steadily. We decide to have to approach an appropriate time to develop the competitive model native to korean style in the field of golf car, since we have established our foundation in auto industry. At this point we try to analyze the golf car expected from a competition and the present state of golf car industry inside and outside of the country through this study. We attempt to derive the precondition for design development of a proper model to possess competitive power in foreign market from now on.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide implications for virtual golf safety management in Korea through the literature review of current safety issues of virtual golf industry. Research design, data, and methodology: This study employed a qualitative approach to review prior studies and related documents presenting current safety perspectives of virtual sports facility management. First, the study reviewed the experiences of virtual golf players and safety criteria suggested from previous literatures. Second, two experts in sport facility management reviewed the manuscript including implications and provided their opinions including major implications and insights for virtual sport industry. Views of experts were added to the final manuscript. Results: This study found that installation standards and safety and hygiene standards by industry are enacted for the safety management of sports facilities, however, there is a need for standards to be adjusted because the contents are general, abstract, and lack detail, thus causing difficultly to secure effectiveness. Conclusions: For virtual golf courses, it is necessary to develop a safety inspection checklist that suits the characteristics of indoor virtual golf. In this line, safety criteria need to be developed with the consideration of characteristics of screen golf to establish an efficient safety management system and create a safe use environment.
This study aims to estimate the economic effects of the simulation golf industry. Two steps are taken. Step 1 is to calculate the direct effect which includes input required to install the facility and consumer's fee to pay for the simulation golf, and the indirect effect which includes the introduction of the field golf course derived from simulation golf. Step 2 is to calculate the production, value added and employment inducement effect. As a result of this calculation, total production inducement effect is 3.6 trillion won, value-added inducement effect is calculated at about 1.66 trillion won, while employment inducement effect is 34.6 thousand people in 2011. This study is expected to contribute to providing a basis for the policy to support the simulation industry and for estimation of the economic effect in the different simulation industry such as the simulation baseball.
This study examines the competitiveness of Korean golf industry and forecasts the demand for golf tourism to diminish the deficit of tourism revenue through revitalizing domestic market for golf. A comparative investigation of the golf expenses shows that the price competitiveness of golf fee and equipments is significantly lower than the competing destinations. For instance, a price of golf tourism package in South east Asian countries, that includes accommodation for three nights and a round-trip airfare, is even lower than the price of three sets of rounding during the weekend in Korea. Plus, the economic impacts analysis shows that if the current regulations regarding domestic golf industry are to be maintained, the competitiveness of Korean golf industry is likely to get worse due to an excessive tax burden, which may result in the increased deficit of tourism revenue. It is expected that the enhanced competitiveness of Korean golf industry will help overcome the current economic crisis of Korea.
