  • Purpose - This study aims to examine the factors that affect consumers' intention to use a global business-to-consumer sharing platform. Design/methodology - The questionnaire collected 300 copies from June 25 to July 11, 2019, of which 281 were used for statistical processing. The structural equation model (SEM) was used to test hypothesis in this research. Findings - The results showed that information innovation, personalization, and personal innovation influenced perceived usefulness, and social connectivity did not affect perceived usefulness. And perceived usefulness greatly influenced the intention to use. Research limitations/implications - The limitations of the study are that most of the survey respondents were in their twenties and could not grasp the perception of sharing economy services for various age groups. This paper derived implications that sharing platform promotes sharing and cooperation, which are the basic principles of international trade, to increase the intrinsic value of resources by cyclically using and utilizing limited resources around the world. • In recent years, the rapid proliferation of domestic and global Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, in conjunction with the global pandemic, has substantially enhanced the accessibility of global contents. This trend is expected to continue to strengthen. This study examines the extent to which domestic consumers experience global contents through OTT platforms and its impact on individual consumers' global identity and the formation of global brand attitudes. We conducted an empirical analysis based on a survey of university students, who constitute the main consumer group for global contents through OTT platforms. The results show that as exposure to global content s and diversity of those experiences through OTT increase, respondents exhibit higher levels of global consumer orientation and global identity. This, in turn, has a positive influence on the formation of global brand attitudes.

  • This study attempts to explain how communication technology impacts global creative trends. We explore global creative trends based on award-winning creative topics presented at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. After analyzing award-winning topics, five main creative trends were selected with the keywords: technology, story-telling, social media, causes, and humor. The 2016 Cannes Lions Festival demonstrated that technology (i.e., virtual reality, artificial intelligence) has expanded the limits of creativity. Story-telling is still considered to be effective for raising audience attention. Social media enhances consumer engagement while nurturing future consumer relationships. Supporting social causes allows companies to garner goodwill from the public. Humor is powerful when it appropriately appeals to both products and customers.

  • The domestic food industry intends to expand overseas market. In order to succeed, in-depth research on local consumers is essential. This paper examined consumer research methodology and case studies based on sensory and consumer science for developing products targeting overseas market. Consumer research should be prece ded by overseas consumer panel construction. Then, this can be followed by application of various consumer research methodologies on new product development process. The most important consideration in this case is that application of same research methods or criteria as for domestic market could lead to significant errors in terms of reliability of results. Therefore, in order to develop successful products that accurately meet the needs of overseas consumers, careful study and consideration of the differences between markets would be essential from consumer researcher and decision-maker's sides.

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze consumer in the multidimensional aspect of a combination of corporate image and brand personality in order to identify the structural causal relationship between consumer choice and corporate image and brand personality. Design/methodology - This study combined theoretical literature studies with empirical field studies using questionnaire survey methods. To achieve this objective, a hypothetical causal model consisting of three potential variables and nine measurement variables was created based on prior research, and a structural equation model was used to identify the suitability of the model. Findings - The hypothetical model established by this study was judged to be generally appropriate. In particular, corporate image was shown to have significant static direct effects on consumer choice and brand personality. It was also shown that brand personality had a direct static effect on consumer choice, and that corporate image has an indirect significant impact on consumer choice by moderating brand personality. Originality/value - Previous papers have mainly focused on one-dimensional studies of various images, such as companies and brands. However, this paper used a model that analyzed consumer choice through multi-clue information rather than corporate images as the only clue to consumer choice.

  • The fashion industry has been rearranged by Global SPA brands (like ZARA and H&M), which are powerful retailers that integrate the value chain ranging from manufacturing to sales. SPA brands can offer good quality of clothing at a reasonable price by cutting the margin between the supply chain. They are also called fast fashions since they make expedited efforts to respond to market trends and consumers. Despite the slow growth of the fashion industry in Korea, as global SPA brands rapidly expand market share, traditional fashion companies have launched several SPA brands such as MIXXO and SPAO (E-LAND), 8SECONDS (CHEIL INDUSTRIES). The few academic studies on this subject are focused on the analysis of secondary data such as news and books. The current research is qualitative and empirical attempts to explore the success factor of SPA brands with analysis of 1:1 in-depth interviews with experts who have worked for global SPAs such as Uniqlo, H&M, and ZARA, based on the grounded theory. The main phenomenon was shown to be that global SPA brands were popular since they offer a variety of products with a large assortment at reasonable and cheap prices in a large scale and multifunctional retail store. Most of them displayed main phenomena that can be realized due to the purchasing cycle of clothing that is shorter with consumers' regarding clothing as consumables. Global SPA brands had three types of marketing strategy: sellable product, sales strategy according to consumer response, and multifunctional stores. Each global SPA brand developed marketing strategies based on core competency and national conditions. The three success factors shorten the consumer decision making process of clothing. This study concludes with implications for practitioners of SPA brands born in Korea.

  • This purpose of this study is to verity the impact of new logistics factors on the Intention of use and consumer happiness, the mediating effect of perceived benefits, and provide suggestions on how to improve the level of new distribution. Based on the previous theories of online experience, off-line experience, logistics experience, perceived benefits, Intention of use and consumer happiness, the study puts forward 6 key research hypotheses. Reliability and validity tests were carried out by using data collected on new logistics factors on the Intention of use and consumer happiness. The hypotheses are verified through structural equation modelling. The study on the impact of new logistics factors on the Intention of use and consumer happiness and the mediating effect of perceived benefits, indicates that online experience, off-line experience, logistics experience have positive effects on perceived benefits, the perceived benefits has positive effects on Intention of use and consumer happiness, and the Intention of use has positive effects on consumer happiness. Moreover, perceived benefits as the mediating variable have effects on the relationship between online experience, off-line experience, logistics experience and the Intention of use and consumer happiness. The study extended the existing previous studies to provide theoretical and practical implications by verifying the relationship between new logistics factors and the Intention of use and consumer happiness.

  • Purpose - Today's companies concentrate intensively on building consumer value and corporate reputation for continuing growth and advancement in an ever-changing global business management environment. This research intended to study the correlation between consumer value and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in building corporate reputation with consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - Online and offline surveys were conducted among male and female adults across Korea. Surveys were conducted for three weeks from August 21, 2018 to September 8, 2018. The samples consisted of 350 offline and 112 online surveys, and a combined total of 462 samples was used for final analysis. Result - Higher consumer value means a greater chance that consumers will select that company's products over those of competitors. For competitive advantage purposes, companies use various consumer management strategies to bolster consumer value and corporate reputation with consumers. Conclusions - Brand assets are subject to ethical responsibility, which is a dimension of corporate social responsibility. Of note, one relevant finding about brand assets (similar to findings in previous research) is the existence of confusion about brand recognition and brand image as perceived by customers.
