  • AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steels) has been increasingly employed by global automotive OEMs in order to satisfy strengthened regulations and reduce weight for fuel efficiency. Hot stamping using boron steels in AHSS increases not only formability but also strength. The typical hot-stamped automotive part is the center pillar that is critical for vehicle side impact. However, the hot-stamped part can be risky for the passenger safety caused by brittle fracture under a vehicle collision. The high power diode laser is suitable for the heat treatment giving AHSS increased elongation that prevents brittle fracture in car crash. Therefore, local softening by laser heat treatment for energy absorption area on the hot-stamped part improves crash-worthiness.

  • Recently, global railway car makers are competing desperately in developing high-speed railway vehicles. Ensuring passenger safety during a crash is essential. The design and the manufacturing of energy absorbing components are becoming more and more important. A deformation tube is a typical passive energy absorbing component for railway cars. In the current study the slab method was used to predict the energy absorbing capability of a deformation tube during the early design stage. The usefulness of the prediction method is verified through the comparisons between the results of FE simulations and those of the prediction method.

  • The development of fuel cell hybrid power system, as a next generation power system for solving the global warming, has been being made actively progress around passenger vehicles. Also, in case of railway vehicles in unelectrified railway line, the adoption of fuel cell hybrid power system is being studied around well-known manufacturers. This paper introduces both the configuration and the control strategy of fuel cell hybrid power system in order to apply to a light electronic railway vehicle having a repeated driving pattern of acceleration, coasting and deceleration and provides simulation results to evaluate their validity.

  • High speed railroad project management has been almost completed by starting operation of Seoul-Busan high speed railroad with the exception of a few constructing blocks currently in April, 2004. After Korea Rail Network Authority was established in 2004, it needs to develop new project management system for both conventional railroad construction and high speed railroad construction for domestic railroad projects, while it plans to invest in overseas railroad project for logistics innovation and improvement in passenger transport services on a large scale. Therefore this paper provides the method that we can adapt the project management system for high speed railroad containing experiences and know-how from construction of high speed railroad for both conventional railroad construction and high speed railroad construction or improve project management system for high speed railroad to use it as project management system for overseas railroad projects.

  • In these days abnormal climate occurs frequently because of global warming and earthshock. So it is necessary to prepare for the abnormal conditions like gale, rainfall, heavy snow and high temperature. Fortunately, Korea high speed rail(KTX) have a safety climate detection system for the abnormal weather by using CTC. So the safety is guaranteed in most aspect. But in convention line there isn't any alarm system for the abnormal condition and the train runs until the railroad loss occurred. So convention line need additional regulation same as KTX for the abnormal climate and in the near future passenger safety must be protected by new alarm system.

DEA를 활용한 한중 카페리 항로의 효율성 분석 (A Study on Measuring the Efficiency of Korea-China Car Ferry Routes by using Data Envelopment Analysis)

  • In this prolonged economic recession, the countries in Northeast Asia play a crucial role in the global market and the relationship between Korea and China gets more attention due to its significant achievement during the past 20 years after the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992. In this regards, this study presents general overview of Korea-China Car Ferry Route and evaluates the efficiency level of each operating route using DEA model. Incheon-Yingkou, Incheon-Lianyungang, Pyeong Taek-Lianyungang are analyzed as efficent routes, while from the view point of passenger efficiency, 4 routes i.e, Incheon-Dalian, Incheon-Dandong, Pyeong Taek- Weihai, Gunsan-Shidao are also noted as efficient routes. Consequently, other inefficient routes can benchmark these efficient routes by increasing cargo volume and passengers.

유해산출물을 고려한 국내 공항 효율성 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study of Analysis for Domestic Airport Efficiency Considering Undesirable Output)

  • Recently, Intense competition is expected to bring about continuous change with the rapid global aviation industry. In particular, domestic passenger demand has been steadily increasing over the past five years, with domestic and international shipments growing at a CAGR of 8.4% and 10.0%, respectively. In addition to the economic value of the airport, social interest due to greenhouse gas emissions is also rising. In this study, we analyzed the efficiency of airport operation by using DEA model(Directional Technology Distance Function) considering undesirable output for 14 airports in Korea. As a result of analysis, all airports except Gimhae, Yangyang, Cheongju and Yeosu were analyzed as efficient airports. However, only Gimpo, Gimhae, Jeju, Muan, Daegu and Gwangju were analyzed as efficient airports considering the undesirable output.

  • The main purpose of the research was to review the global trends of airport's smart security technologies. Moreover, using the case studies of airport using smart security, this paper tried to propose the implication how the findings through the case studies may be important for airport policy and will impact the future research of airport operation. It is expected in the future the aviation security technology with biometric information evolves from single identification to multiple identification technology which has combined application of iris, vein and others. Facing post COVID-19 era, the number of passengers traveling through airports continues increase dramatically and the risks as well, the role of AI becomes even more crucial. With AI based automated security robotics airport operators could effectively handle the growing passenger and cargo volume and address the associated issues Smart CCTV analysis with A.I. and IoT applying solutions could also provide significant support for airport security.

진화하는 서울 지하철 망의 특성과 효율성 분석 (Characteristics and Efficiency Analysis of Evolutionary Seoul Metropolitan Subway Network)

  • 서울 수도권 지하철 망은 과거 수십 년 동안 도심지의 인구 분산, 교통 정체 해소 그리고 인접 도시의 활성화 등 다수의 목적을 위하여 여러 번의 진화 과정을 거쳐 왔다. 본 연구에서는 서울 수도권 망의 동적인 진화에 따라 지하철 망의 특성과 망의 효율이 어떻게 변화해 왔는지를 분석하였다. 아울러 본 연구에서는 지하철 망의 효율을 보다 현실적으로 나타낼 수 있는 새로운 척도를 제안하였다. 서울 지하철 망의 효율성은 74%로 외국의 값들보다 높게 나타났으며 승객의 실질적인 흐름을 고려하면 효율성은 85% 이상으로 더 높게 나타났다. 9호선과 신분당선, 의정부선과 에버라인 노선들은 2013년 9월 이후로 수송 실적 관련 자료를 공개하지 않기 때문에 본 연구에서는 분석 범위를 데이터가 존재하는 2008년 9월부터 2013년 9월로 국한하였다.

바이오항공유 생산 및 사용현황 (The Status of Production and Usage of Bio-Jet Fuel)

  • 글로벌화 추세에 따라 항공기를 이용한 승객 및 물류이동이 증가하고 있으며, 이로 인해 항공유 사용량 역시 매년 증가하고 있다. 항공기로부터 발생되는 온실가스인 CO2는 전세계에서 발생되는 CO2의 약 3.5%를 차지하고 있으며, 수송용 연료에서 발생하는 CO2의 약 12%를 차지할 정도로 높은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이에 따라서 많은 국가와 국제민간항공기구(ICAO) 등에서는 바이오항공유를 도입함으로써 CO2 저감을 위한 노력을 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 항공유의 연료적 특성 및 품질기준과 함께 바이오항공유의 대표적 생산방법으로 ATJ, OTJ, GTJ, STJ에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 국내·외 바이오항공유에 대한 사용현황과 보급활성화에 대한 방안을 제시하였다.
