Anthropogenic activities and natural processes have been causes of land subsidence which is sudden sinking or gradual settlement of the earth's solid surface. Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is one of the most severe land subsidence areas which are resulted from excessive groundwater extraction. Because groundwater is the primary water resource occupies almost 70% of total water usage in the city. Traditional terrestrial observations like the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or leveling survey have been preferred to measure land subsidence accurately. Although the GNSS observations have highly accurate information of the surfaces' displacement with a very high temporal resolution, it has often been limited due to its sparse spatial resolution and highly time-consuming and high cost. However, space-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry has been widely used as a powerful tool to monitor surfaces' displacement with high spatial resolution and high accuracy from mm to cm-scale, regardless of day-or-night and weather conditions. In this paper, advanced interferometric approaches have been applied to get a time-series of land subsidence of Mexico City using four-year-long twenty ALOS PALSAR L-band observations acquired from Feb-11, 2007 to Feb-22, 2011. We utilized persistent scatterer interferometry (PSI) and small baseline subset (SBAS) techniques to suppress atmospheric artifacts and topography errors. The results show that the maximum subsidence rates of the PSI and SBAS method were -29.5 cm/year and -27.0 cm/year, respectively. In addition, we discuss the different subsidence rates where the study area is discriminated into three districts according to distinctive geotechnical characteristics. The significant subsidence rate occurred in the lacustrine sediments with higher compressibility than harder bedrock.

Bathymetry sounding or water depth measurement is becoming more and more sophisticated with the increasing demand in accuracy, resolution and coverage in the recent years. Single beam echo sounding is still utilized to gather single line bathymetric profile in many surveys as ever, although there is an increasing demand for multi-beam echo sounding. Single beam echo sounder system acquires single line profiles of water depth as the vessel travel along the survey line. In this study, we performed single beam echo sounding with GNSS receiver for hydrographic survey at Namgang dam basin to calculate pure sediment. Unlike traditional research, we used not field reference station but NTRIP service of the reference station of DGNSS(Differential Global Navigation Satellite System) Central Office in this GNSS survey. The calculation results show that scouring volume is $603,650m^3$, sediment volume is $3,913,750m^3$ and so pure sediment volume is $3,310,100m^3$ at Namgang dam basin. And the availability of the NTRIP service of the DGNSS Central Office for echo sounding in land area has been confirmed in this study.

The paper will give an overview of the mission of GalTeC and then concentrate on two main aspects. The first more detailed aspect, is the analysis of the key performance parameters for the Galileo system services and presenting a technical overview of methods and algorithms used. The second more detailed aspect, is the service volume prediction including service dimensioning using the Prediction tool. In order to monitor and validate the Galileo SIS performance for Open Service (OS) and Safety Of Life services (SOL) regarding the key performance parameters, different analyses in the SIS domain and User domain are considered. In the SIS domain, the validation of Signal-in-Space Accuracy SISA and Signal-in-Space Monitoring Accuracy SISMA is performed. For this purpose first of all an independent OD&TS and Integrity determination and processing software is developed to generate the key reference performance parameters named as SISRE (Signal In Space Reference Errors) and related over-bounding statistical information SISRA (Signal In Space Reference Accuracy) based on raw measurements from independent sites (e.g. IGS), Galileo Ground Sensor Stations (GSS) or an own regional monitoring network. Secondly, the differences of orbits and satellite clock corrections between Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise reference ephemeris generated by GalTeC will also be compared to check the SIS accuracy. Thirdly, in the user domain, SIS based navigation solution PVT on reference sites using Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise ephemeris generated by GalTeC are also used to check key performance parameters. In order to demonstrate the GalTeC performance and the methods mentioned above, the paper presents an initial test result using GPS raw data and GPS broadcast ephemeris. In the tests, some Galileo typical performance parameters are used for GPS system. For example, the maximum URA for one day for one GPS satellite from GPS broadcast ephemeris is used as substitution of SISA to check GPS ephemeris accuracy. Using GalTeC OD&TS and GPS raw data from IGS reference sites, a 10 cm-level of precise orbit determination can be reached. Based on these precise GPS orbits from GalTeC, monitoring and validation of GPS performance can be achieved with a high confidence level. It can be concluded that one of the GalTeC missions is to provide the capability to assess Galileo and general GNSS performance and prediction methods based on a regional and global monitoring networks. Some capability, of which first results are shown in the paper, will be demonstrated further during the planned Galileo IOV phase, the Full Galileo constellation phase and for the different services particularly the Open Services and the Safety Of Life services based on the Galileo Integrity concept.

EU's Galileo project is a market-based GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) that is under development. It is expected that Galileo will provide the positioning services based on new technologies in 2020s. Because Galileo E1 signal for OS (Open Service) shares the same center frequency with GPS L1 C/A signal, CBOC (Composite Binary Offset Carrier) modulation scheme is used in the E1 signal to guarantee interoperability between two systems. With E1 signal consisting of a data channel and a pilot channel at the same frequency band, there exist several options in designing signal acquisition for Assisted-Galileo receivers. Furthermore, compared to SNR worksheet of Assisted-GPS, some factors should be examined in Assisted-Galileo due to different correlation profile and code length of E1 signal. This paper presents SNR worksheets of Galileo E1 signals in E1-B and E1-C channel. Three implementation losses that are quite different from GPS are mainly analyzed in establishing SNR worksheets. In the worksheet, hybrid long integration of 1.5s is considered to acquire weak signal less than -150dBm. Simulation results show that the final SNR of E1-B signal with -150dBm is 19.4dB and that of E1-C signal is 25.2dB. Comparison of relative computation shows that E1-B channel is more profitable to acquire the strongest signal in weak signal environment. With information from the first satellite signal acquisition, fast acquisition of the weak signal around -155dBm can be performed with E1-C signal in the subsequent satellites.

This study proposed a method to select existing facilities as a landmark in order to reset accumulated errors of dead reckoning in a tunnel difficult to receive GNSS signals in automated driving. First, related standards and regulations were reviewed in order to survey 'variety' on shapes and installation locations as a feature of facilities. Second, 'recognition' on facilities was examined using image and Lidar sensors. Last, 'regularity' in terms of installation locations and intervals was surveyed through related references. The results of this study selected a fire fighting box / lamp (50m), an evacuation corridor lamp (300m), a lane control system (500m), a maximum / minimum speed limit sign and a jet fan as a candidate landmark to reset positioning errors. Based on those facilities, it was determined that error correction was possible. The results of this study are expected to be used in repositioning of automated driving vehicles in a tunnel.

In order to effectively maintain and manage river facilities, on going data collection of associated objects is important. However, the existing data acquisition methods of using a total station, a global navigation satellite system, or a terrestrial laser scanner have limitations in terms of cost/time/manpower when acquiring spatial information data on river facilities distributed over a wide and long area, unlike general facilities. In contrast, a mobile mapping system (MMS), which acquires data while moving its platform, acquires precise spatial information data for a large area in a short time, so it is suitable for use in the maintenance of linear facilities around rivers. As a result of applying a MMS to a research area of 4 km, 184,646,099 points were acquired during a 20-minute data acquisition period, and 378 cross-sections were extracted. By comparing this with computer-drawn river plans, it was confirmed that efficient levee management using a MMS is possible.
This study aims to verify the Drone utilization and the accuracy of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS), Drone RGB (Photogrammetry) (D-RGB), and Drone LiDAR (D-LiDAR) surveying performance in the downstream reaches of the local stream. The results of the measurement of Ground Control Point (GCP) and Check Point (CP) coordinates confirmed the excellence. This study was carried out by comparing GNSS, D-RGB, and D-LiDAR with the values which the hydraulic characteristics calculated using HEC-RAS model. The accuracy of three survey methods was compared in the area of the study which is the ownership station, to 6 GCP and 3 CP were installed. The comparison results showed that the D-LiDAR survey was excellent. The 100-year frequency design flood discharge was applied in the channel sections of the small stream. As a result of D-RGB surveying 2.30 m and D-LiDAR 1.80 m in the average bed elevation, and D-RGB surveying 4.73 m and D-LiDAR 4.25 m in the average flood condition. It is recommended that the performance of D-LiDAR surveying is efficient method and useful as the surveying technique of the geospatial information using the drone equipment in stream channel.

Continuous Compaction Control is a new cutting edge technique in United States, Japan and European construction market that uses an instrumented compactor to measure soil stiffness in real time usually with vehicle tracking system such as Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). In this study, soil stiffness was evaluated by adapting Fourier transforming technique with acceleration data obtained from accelerometers used as a continuous compaction control instrument. The soil stiffness obtained by accelerometers gave analogous results with reference results such as dry density, elastic modulus obtained from Geogauge and Light falling deflectometer.

In this paper, we propose an unambiguous correlation function to improve tracking performance for binary offset carrier (BOC) signals. Specifically, we divide a BOC sub-carrier into multiple rectangular pulses, and analyze that the BOC autocorrelation function is made up of the sum of several partial correlation functions. Then, we obtain two sub-correlation functions by combining two partial correlation functions and propose a novel unambiguous correlation function with no side-peak which can be regulated its width based on the combination of the sub-correlation functions and partial correlation functions. From numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed correlation function provides a tracking performance improvement over the conventional correlation functions in terms of the tracking error standard deviation.

In The process from design to construction in the existing construction work was less efficient due to the contradictory approach of identifying the 3D state in the plan view and the repeated generation of surveys, floor plans, drawings. Accurate 3D design data is essential for smart construction. However, most of the existing related studies have focused on explaining the development method and main functions of equipment or improving the productivity of smart construction. Therefore, in this study, the utility of 3D design model generation for smart construction and construction survey using 3D laser scanner was evaluated. Plane and vertical road alignment were created using the specifications of the road. The generated road alignment was created as a three-dimensional corridor design using cross-sections at intervals of 20m. In addition, it was possible to create a DTM (Digital Terrain Model) using a digital map and effectively create a 3D design model for the study area through overlapping. Construction survey using a 3D laser scanner showed accuracy within 10cm as a result of the accuracy evaluation. These results proved that construction surveying using a 3D laser scanner is possible because it satisfies the acceptable accuracy of the relevant regulations modeling of target areas using 3D design and construction survey using 3D laser scanner can be a way to address shortcomings of existing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) methods. And accurate 3D data will be used as essential data as basic data for smart construction.
