The study participants selected three participants in their late 40s and conducted a total of six sessions and in-depth interviews for 90 minutes to collect and analyze data using the phenomenological Giorgi research method. The conclusion according to the research results was drawn as follows. First, the shame, fear, reprimand, violence, passive attitude, and childhood that had to be adjusted seemed to maintain a stable life in the late forties, but still appeared in the present life. It was found that they showed a low self-satisfaction rather than positive satisfaction with self-concept and pursued an ideal self-image. Second, lifestyle was a time of severe depression, lethargy, and emptiness as a child, experiencing an unstable childhood due to a violent family, loss of attachment, overprotection, difficult economic conditions, and parental strife. It has been found that in the late forties, families have been established and religious life is being stabilized, and the responsibility for the family is valued. This shows how a lifestyle that gives meaning and recognizes what experience gives meaning to the childhood that one experienced. Insight into change and growth in middle-aged life, searching for and interpreting the initial recollections that they have experienced, accompanied by social and psychological changes in middle-aged men, discovering inappropriate meanings and goals and preparing for a second life in the age of 100 It is meaningful to provide.

The aim of this study was to understand the nature and semantic structure of male smokers' experience of smoking cessation attempts. The participants were nine male smokers with at least one smoking cessation attempt, and who responded voluntarily to the preliminary survey. Data collection was conducted from September to December 2017, and the results of individual in-depth interview were analyzed by applying the Giorgi(2009)'s phenomenological research method. Result: 'Attempt's of smoking cessation', 'Several failed attempts of smoking cessation', 'Desperate need for help' and 'An important factor in the success of smoking cessation'. Conclusion: The present study showed that male smokers were desperate for outside intervention, smoking cessation policies, and help from family members and acquaintances as they tried to cease smoking. Therefore, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of smoking men's experience in smoking cessation, to identify their nursing needs, and provide necessary nursing intervention so that they can lead a healthy life as a member of society without giving up smoking. This study is meaningful in that smoking men can gain new insights by providing a comprehensive and comprehensive understanding of their experience

The purpose of this study is to understand and describe in depth the meaning of parenting experiences of mothers with children with developmental disabilities through phenomenological methods. Participants of this study were selected by convenience sampling 11 mothers who were taking care of children with developmental disabilities who were being treated at the Welfare Center for the Disabled in C city. Data were collected from February to April, 2018 by using in-depth interview and tape-recording. The interview data were analyzed by the phenomenological analysis method of Giorgi. As the result of analysis, the following seven constituents were emerged; Regreting to delay the uncertain diagnosis, Difficulty in accommodating children with disabilities, Unbearable gaze around, Family disagreements due to children with disabilities, Adopting and dedicated to child care for disabled childre, Tiring of raising children with disabilities, Accepting children with disabilities. In conclusion, the parenting attitude of mother with developmental disability is influenced not only by the children with developmental disabilities but also by the social contact opportunities of daily life and interpersonal relationship including mothers' emotional stability and social isolation, It is considered that medical and welfare should be systematically introduced for physical, psychological and emotional support for mothers.
The subjects of this study are three visually-impaired undergraduates currently considering if they should take a leave of absence after finishing the first year in S University located in Busan City. From March to July, 2018, this researcher explored the meaning of their university entrance and the essential meaning and structure of their school life experiences by using Giorgi's phenomenological methodology. According to the results, this author drew 32 meaningful statements and also 10 main themes, "the excitement of campus life and the name of being an undergraduate", "parents' suggestion", "something other than being a massager", "Is it a place that anyone can enter? Or, is it a special place?", "loneliness within the public", "Everything is an obstacle.", "It's not giving up, but still I am in a vague moment.", "the beginning of another conflict", and "studying in a university is not for the present but for the future". They were categorized into being a university student and the meaning of it (category1), adaptation to university life and reality (category 2), and one year after the entrance: the meaning of being a university student (category 3). Based on the above results, this author intends to provide foundational material about what universities can do for visually-impaired students to adapt to university life in the initial steps properly.

This study was conducted to develop a supportive nursing intervention plan for the young-old by identifying the essence and meaning structure of re-employment experience after retirement. Participants of this study were selected by convenience sampling of seven Korean young-old individuals from 60 to 74 years of age who had re-employment experience after retirement in C city. Data were collected from June to August of 2016 based on an in-depth interview and tape-recording. The interview data were analyzed by the phenomenological analysis method developed by Giorgi. The analysis revealed the following constituents; confusion in response to the change of life, recognizing that it is not easy to work again, adaption to new changes, opening a new life. It is becoming increasingly important that nurses, who have played an important role in elderly nursing because of the increase in average life expectancy and overall elderly population, take care of extended tasks throughout the society, away from clinical work. Therefore, a social support system and nursing guidelines necessary for continuous nursing intervention should be provided so that the elderly, including those at early retirement age, can be satisfied with their life after retirement.
The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions in treatments and experiences of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) for mothers parenting a child with ADHD. Using Giorgi's 4 stages, this study investigated the meaning of ADHD treatments for mothers. Data were collected from December 2014 to February 2015 for 3 months with a sample of 13 mothers of children with ADHD via in-depth interviews. Collected data was analyzed using an interpretative phenomenological approach. Dominant issues identified were: I (mother) need to be changed for my child; Through mothers' experiences of lack of self-determination about a child with ADHD, they realized ignorance, chaos, and anxiety. While they experience multiple negative feeling, there is a positive change with unresolved issues. The findings highlight the correct awareness of ADHD and incorporated therapies for mothers and children with ADHD to improve treatment retention. Also, specialized services would be developed for mothers to promote their positive attitude to life, which is vital to cultivating the correct self-awareness.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the smart phone usage experience structure for college students. The phenomenology approach was used by conducting 4 times in-depth interviews with the 7 college students age between 20~23. Collected Data was analyzed by Giorgi's phenomenological method. The main purpose of this study is to provide the necessary information for educational intervention by discovering the components and factors related to the adaptation experience of male students in the department of nursing. The participants were seven male nursing students. Data were collected from in-depth interviews, and the results were analyzed by the Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method. The main components of adaptation experience of participants were summarized into four categories: 'hopes and expectations for the future careers,' 'conflicts and wandering under realistic issues,' 'compromise and emotion management,' and 'efforts for self-growth.' Causative, accelerative, and recursive characteristics were shown among these components. The adaptation process was structured in the temporal context. The results suggest that for amicable adaptation, internal controls, such as 'improving willpower,' 'inspiring solid career awareness,' and 'selecting adaptation strategy' were all critical. Moreover, the support of families, relatives, college seniors, and department professors were revealed as the factors that help in the adaptation experiences. Based on the results, further studies are required to identify the dropout rates by maladaptation of male nursing students, and analyze possible factors that contribute to dropout and maladaptation. In addition, it is necessary to construct various coping methods and practical support systems, as well as to develop appropriate educational programs.
This study attempted to examine the significance of experience in the gifted class management. The participants of the this study were teachers of the science gifted classe in elementary school located in Seoul. The study was conducted in interviews with four teachers of the science gifted class that individually used their own gifted programs. The interviews were analyzed by applying a phenomenological method of analysis derived from Giorgi. Data collection focused on the feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and changes in life of the teachers of the gifted in order to analyze the experience of the research participants. As a result, 123 significant statements were deduced; based on these significant statements, 26 themes and 12 focal meanings were examined closely. Then, the focal meanings were combined to propose situated structural descriptions of the significance of experiences from the perspective of participants. At the same time, by integrating the situated structural descriptions of the individual participants, the experiences of the teachers of the science gifted class were organized as a general structural description. This study examined in depth the experiences of the teachers of the gifted who are the subjects of the gifted class management through a phenomenological method, and also attempted to examine what these teachers wanted on site and what their experiences with the gifted education meant to them. The implications in understanding the problems of the science gifted education in individual elementary schools and in improving the gifted class management were suggested.
Numerous studies have been made on the negative effects of online games, as the negatives effects of the usage of online games have been recognized as social issues. However, this is a study on the positive functions of online gaming; more specifically, on how the guild activities on online games affect the user's leadership. This study has conducted in-depth interviews with online games, and drew the result using Giorgi's phenomenological analysis as for the methodology. 3 people participated in the research - a high school student, a university student, and an adult office worker - all of whom with experiences of guild leading on online games. To achieve the goal of this study, this study based the subjects' experience to analyze how online game guild activities have affected leadership on the subjects' real lives. As a result, timidity turned into initiation; not only leadership, but also decision making ability and coworking ability, as well as problem solving ability have shown improvement. Through this study, one can see that among the elements of online game, experience in guild activities is providing opportunities for enhancing leadership and possibilities for improving various other abilities. I hope more researchers continue studying interesting and diverse powers of online games based on this study.
