  • In this paper, we propose target range estimation method using ghost target in the submarine linear array sonar. Usually, when submarine detect target, they use passive sonar detection to avoid self-disclosure by active sonar transmission. But, originally, passive linear array sonar have limitation for target range estimation and additional processing is required to get target range information. For the case of near-field target, typical range estimation method is using multiple information by multipath effect in underwater environment. Acoustic signal generated from target are propagated along with numerous multipath in underwater environment. Since multipath target signals received in the linear array sonar have different conic angles each other, ghost target is appeared at the bearing different with real target bearing and sonar operator can find these information on the operation console. Under several assumption, this geometric properties can be analysed mathematically and we get the target range by derivation of this geometric equations using measured conic angles of real target and ghost target.

  • The relative activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in E. coli was measured at 340 $m\mu$ with a spectrophotometer. The synchronized E. coli cells in exponential phase were treated with Phage($T_2$) ghost, and used as a enzyme solution directly. This assay method supposed to be useful for the continuous determination of enzyme activity in E. coli.

  • We developed an algorithm to simulate the generation of virtual nanowebs using the Monte Carlo method. To evaluate the pore size of the simulated multi-layered nanoweb, an estimation algorithm was developed using a ghost particle having zero volume and mass. The penetration time of the ghost particle through the virtual nanoweb was dependent on the pore size. By using iterative ghost particle penetrations, we obtained reliable data for the evaluation of the pore size and distribution of the virtual nanowebs. The penetration time increased with increasing number of layers and area ratio, whereas it decreased with increasing fiber diameter. Dimensional analysis showed that the penetration time can be expressed as a function of the fiber diameter, area ratio and number of layers.

  • We present an innovative means of numerically treating interfaces associated with chemically active energetic materials. Recent advances in wave tracking technique based on the Ghost Fluid Concept is extended to handle multi-material multi-phase interfaces associated with chemical environment associated with explosion. We show several work-in-progress applications of our code, including the impact problems involving both energetic and inert elements. Accurate modeling of the equation of state and the constitutive relations are also discussed

  • A new multiple-image encryption scheme that is based on a compressive ghost imaging concept along with a Fourier transform sampling principle has been proposed. This further improves the security of the scheme. The scheme adopts a Fourier transform to sample the original multiple-image information respectively, utilizing the centrosymmetric conjugation property of the spatial spectrum of the images to obtain each Fourier coefficient in the most abundant spatial frequency band. Based on this sampling principle, the multiple images to be encrypted are grouped into a combined image, and then the compressive ghost imaging algorithm is used to improve the security, which reduces the amount of information transmission and improves the information transmission rate. Due to the presence of the compressive sensing algorithm, the scheme improves the accuracy of image reconstruction.

  • Fluttering ghost which is the most severs picture impairment in mobile TV reception under multipath fading environments can be detected by measuring the dynamic variation of the synchronizing pulse timing. And also, the occurrence-stucture of fluttering ghost are directly correlated with the multipath parameters. This paper describes the quantitative evaluating method of the mobile TV pictures impaired by multipath parameters by means of the spectral analysis of synchronizing timing fluctuation. The ghost-flutter curve derived from the spatial amplitue spectrum of synchronizing pulse timing fluctuation express well the spatial variation characteristic, and it has been found to be the quantitative evaluating measure of picture impairment in mobile reception. A correspondence between the ghost-flutter curve (and/or index) and picture quality opinion test results is established.

  • A ghost cancelling method using the multiplicationless adaptive multipath channel identification is proposed. The IIR filter and the LMS algorithm are used for ghost cancelling. The coefficients of IIR filter are obtained by multipath channel identification. The LMS algorithm which is simple relatively is used as the adaptive algorithm. An MPS is selected as the reference signal and it is used as the input of the adaptive algorithm for the multipath channel identification. If an MPS is not exist, the horizontal syne, and color burst signal can be used as the reference signal. Improving of accuracy of the ghost cancelling in the presence of the phase variation in the multipath channel, a complex processing are also performed.

  • This paper presents an impulse response of the multi-path channel using KS-GCR(Korean Standard Ghost Cancel Reference) signal. Using the property of the KS-GCRsignal, we can get the impulse response of the multi-path channel from circular cross correlation of the received DS-GCR signal and the orginal KS-GCR ternary sequence. Therefore impulse response of the multi-path channel can be used to design the the ghost cancellation filter if it is designed to have inverse characteristics of multi-path channel. This paper shows that the ghost occurred from the multi-path channel can be cancelled by using the impulse response and preceding ghost cancellation algorithm.

  • Ghost imaging (GI) technology is developing rapidly, but there are inevitably some limitations such as the influence of atmospheric turbulence. In this paper, we study a ghost imaging system in atmospheric turbulence and use a gamma-gamma (GG) model to simulate the medium to strong range of turbulence distribution. With a compressed sensing (CS) algorithm and generative adversarial network (GAN), the image can be restored well. We analyze the performance of correlation imaging, the influence of atmospheric turbulence and the restoration algorithm's effects. The restored image's peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index map (SSIM) increased to 21.9 dB and 0.67 dB, respectively. This proves that deep learning (DL) methods can restore a distorted image well, and it has specific significance for computational imaging in noisy and fuzzy environments.

  • Edwardsiella tarda, a gram (-) pathogen causing edwardsiellosis in farmed fish, was transformed via electroporation with a plasmid expression vector driving the PhiX174 E-lysis gene under the transcriptional control by lambda PR regulatory sequence. The persistent maintenance of the plasmid vector in recombinant E. tarda was found in numerous subculture procedures over up to 6 months without any adverse effect on the original copy number of plasmids. Comparative examination based on semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis on transcriptional efficiency of E-lysis gene between recombinant E. coli and E. tarda indicated that promoter strength and induction capacity of bacterial ghosts would be retarded in E. tarda as compared to the E. coli. However, the completeness of induction for bacterial ghosts in E. tarda was the same with E. coli, in which at least 99.99% of induction rate was possible and further the viability of recombinant bacteria was completely eliminated by a post-induction procedure including washing and freeze drying lyophilization.
