유아교육시설의 표면 및 공기 중 납 농도 평가 (Evaluation of Airborne and Surface Lead Concentrations in Preschool Classroom)

  • This study was performed to investigate airborne lead concentration and surface lead contents in preschool facilities. Arithmetic mean of indoor lead concentration in urban area was $44.7\;ng/m^3$ (Geometric mean $32.1\;ng/m^3$) whereas outdoor concentration was $39.5\;ng/m^3$ (GM $22.8\;ng/m^3$). In rural area, airborne lead concentrations were $14.2\;ng/m^3\;(GM\;7.9 ng/m^3),\;12.6\;ng/m^3\;(GM\;5.6 ng/m^3)$, respectively. There is statistical significance of the lead concentrations among the locations of preschool facilities. About $37\%$ of qualitative lead check samples was positive and mainly was found in lead based paint. Though lead concentrations on the floor and window sill were well below the US EPA and HUD standard (floor $40\;{\mu}g/ft^2\;(4.3\;{\mu}g/100\;cm^2)$, window sill $250\;{\mu}g/ft^2\;(26.9\;{\mu}g/100\;cm^2)$, respectively), there were much samples which exceed the standard, i.e., $29\%$ of surface wall, $20\%$ of the desk and chair, $100\%$ of painted wood box of tested samples. In view of our study and hazard of lead to children, we recommended that the contents of lead in preschool facilities should be lowered as possible.

탄소섬유강화 복합재의 열전도율 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluation of Thermal Conductivity for Carbon -Fiber-Reinforced-Plastics)

  • Carbon-fiber which has very small radial dimension makes us difficult to measure it's properties. So in this paper, we suggest a simple method to measure the thermal conductivity of a carbon-fiber's and carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastics(CFRP) laminates. The thermal conductivity of CFRP laminates was measured experimentally at the same time analytically. The experimental model is based on the one-dimensional analysis of fin sample because CFRP laminates has a thin geometric configuration. The analytical model to measure the thermal conductivity of carbon-fiber is expressed by use of mean-field model which is based on Eshelby's elliptical inclusion problem. Therefore the thermal conductivity of angle-ply laminates can be computed by use of effective longitudinal and transverse thermal conductivities of unidirectional composite of the constituents.

토크 컨버터의 1차원 성능 모델을 이용한 유동 각도 보정 계수에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Correction Factor of Flow Angel by using the One Dimentional Performance Model of Torque Converter)

  • One dimensional performance model has been used for the design of torque converter. The model is based on the concept of constant mean flow path and constant flow angle. These constant-assumed para meters make the design procedure to be simple. In practice, some parameters are usually replaced with geometric raw data and, the constant experiential correction factors have been used to minimize the design error. These factors have no definite physical meaning and so they cannot be applied confidently to the other design condition. In this study, the detail dynamic model of torque converter is presented to establish the theoretical background of correction factors. To verify the validity of theoretical model, steady state performance test was carried out on the several input speed. The oil temperature effect on the performance is analysed and adjusted. The constant equivalent flow angles are determined at a part of performance region by comparing the theoretical model and the test data. The sensitivity of correction factors to the input speeds are studied and the change of torus flow is presented.

대관령과 영종도에서 측정한 에어러솔 크기분포 및 CCN 수농도에 관한 연구 (On the Contrast of Aerosol Size Distribution and Cloud Condensation Nuclei Concentrations between the East and the West of the Korean Peninsula)

  • Aerosol number concentration ($N_{CN}$), size distribution and cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) concentration ($N_{CCN}$) were measured during 16-21 August 2008 at Daegwallyeong (DG) located in the eastern rural region of the Korean Peninsula. In the very next week (22-29 August 2008) the same aerosol properties were measured at Yeongjong Island (YJ) in the Yellow Sea. $N_{CN}$ for all 3 size cuts (above 3, 6 and 10 nm) was significantly higher at DG than YJ, but $N_{CCN}$ was significantly lower at the former and resulted in the $N_{CCN}/N_{CN}$ ratio more than twice higher at YJ ($0.94{\pm}0.09$ vs. $0.35{\pm}0.15$ at 0.53% supersaturation). The geometric mean diameter at DG, $53{\pm}15nm$, was much smaller than that at YJ, $91{\pm}6nm$, due to the particle formation events that were likely to have occurred continuously at DG. For given mean diameter, aerosols were more likely to act as CCN at YG compared to those at DG.

  • 액체추진제 추력기 인젝터로부터 발생하는 분무의 미립화 특성과 공간 분포를 파악하기 위해 이중모드 위상도플러속도계(DPDA)를 사용한다. 평균속도, Sauter 평균직경, 그리고 속도섭동과 같은 분무특성 인자들을 다양한 분무축 및 반경방향 위치에서 계측한다. 이러한 데이터를 반경축상에 정량화하고 직경과 난류강도와의 상관관계를 밝히는데 사용한다. 분무 동적거동의 가시적 이해를 돕기위해, 노즐 오리피스의 기하학적 축과 반경방향이 이루는 좌표에 분무입자들의 속도벡터를 도식화한다.

Natural frequency characteristics of composite plates with random properties

  • Exercise of complete control on all aspects of any manufacturing / fabrication process is very difficult, leading to uncertainties in the material properties and geometric dimensions of structural components. This is especially true for laminated composites because of the large number of parameters associated with its fabrication. When the basic parameters like elastic modulus, density and Poisson's ratio are random, the derived response characteristics such as deflections, natural frequencies, buckling loads, stresses and strains are also random, being functions of the basic random system parameters. In this study the basic elastic properties of a composite lamina are assumed to be independent random variables. Perturbation formulation is used to model the random parameters assuming the dispersions small compared to the mean values. The system equations are analyzed to obtain the mean and the variance of the plate natural frequencies. Several application problems of free vibration analysis of composite plates, employing the proposed method are discussed. The analysis indicates that, at times it may be important to include the effect of randomness in material properties of composite laminates.

낙동상 하류 수역의 Microflora (Microflora of the Lower Part of the Nagdong River)

  • This experiment was carried out to evaluate general characteristics of the water quality, total coliform, fecal coliform and microflora at the St. 1 to St. 3 and St. 4 to St. 7. Eighty-four water samples were collected from the 7 stations from July 1988 to April 1990 (see Fig. 1) Range and mean value of the samples were as follows water temperature 2.0-29.9$^{\circ}$C, 16.3$^{\circ}$C pH 6.86-9.08, 7.62: electrical conductivity 54.85$\mu \mho$/cm, 4.300 m$\mho$/cm, 911.93 $\mu \mho$/cm : turbidity 0.9-36 NTU, 6.8 NTU, respectively. pH and electrical conductivity at St. 4 to St. 7 were higher than those at St. 1 to St. 3, but turbidity at St. 1 to St. 2 was 7 times higher than that at Sonagdong river area. The bacterial density of the samples ranged 91-110,000/100ml for total coliform. 21-15,000/100ml for fecal coliform. Specially, the geometric mean value of the St. 3 was 11,836 / 100ml for it leveled heavy contaminaiton. Predominant species among the 3,874 strains isolated form the samples were 30.6% Enterobacteriaceae, 14.7% Acinetobacter, 9.0% Aeromonas. 8.9% Neisseria, and 7.5% Vibrio.

유색 스크린의 굴곡과 영상의 평균밝기를 고려한 프로젝터용 색 보정 기법 (A color compensation method for a projector considering non-flatness of color screen and mean lightness of the projected image)

  • 본 논문에서는 보정 영상을 프로젝터가 표현할 수 있는 범위로 콘트라스트(contrast)를 조절하여 주는 요소(scaling factor)를 적용하여 색 보정영상을 획득하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 조절 요소는 입력영상과 사용된 표면의 평균 밝기를 이용하여 계산하였다. 또한 사용된 프로젝터 및 카메라의 특성화 과정에서 오는 오차와 부정확성을 해결하기 위하여 프로젝터와 카메라 양단간의 관계를 적용한다. 실험 결과에서 제안한 색 보정 방법이 임의의 표면으로 입력된 다양한 영상에 대하여 밝기를 유지하면서 클리핑 결함은 감소되어 화질이 개선된 것을 확인하였다.

호흡기 내 주기적 공기유동에 대한 PIV 계측 (The PIV Measurements on the Respiratory Gas Flow in the Human Airway)

  • The mean and RMS velocity field of the respiratory gas flow in the human airway was studied experimentally by particle image velocimetry (PIV). Some researchers investigated the airflow for the mouth breathing case both experimentally and numerically. But it is very rare to investigate the airflow of nose breathing in a whole airway due to its geometric complexity. We established the procedure to create a transparent rectangular box containing a model of the human airway for PIV measurement by combination of the RP and the curing of clear silicone. We extend this to make a whole airway including nasal cavities, larynx, trachea, and 2 generations of bronchi. The CBC algorithm with window offset (64 $\times$ 64 to 32 $\times$ 32) is used for vector searching in PIV analysis. The phase averaged mean and RMS velocity distributions in Sagittal and coronal planes are obtained for 7 phases in a respiratory period. Some physiologic conjectures are obtained. The main stream went through the backside of larynx and trachea in inspiration and the frontal side in expiration. There exist vortical motions in inspiration, but no prominent one in expiration.

  • 본 논문에서는 이러한 연구의 첫단계로 Gosman과 Ideriah가 다룬 TEACH-2E전 산프로그램을 모체로 하여 본 논문의 문제에 적합하도록 수정하여 사용하였다. 그러 나 기본적인 k-.epsilon.난류모델은 수정하지 않았다. 한편, 본 논문에서는 열선풍속계를 이용하여 평균 속도분포 및 난류특성을 계측하고 계산결과와 비교하였다. 이를 통하 여 표준형 k-.epsilon.모델을 이용한 TEACH-2E코드의 특성을 파악하고 이를 위한 실험 데이터 를 확보하는데 중점을 두었다.
