  • Support Vector Machine (SVM) is one of powerful learning machine and has been applied to varying task with generally acceptable performance. The success of SVM for classification tasks in one domain is affected by features which represent the instance of specific class. Given the representative and discriminative features, SVM learning will give good generalization and consequently we can obtain good classifier. In this paper, we will assess the problem of feature choices for human detection tasks and measure the performance of each feature. Here we will consider HOG-family feature. As a natural extension of SVM, we combine SVM with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to reduce dimension of features while retaining most of discriminative feature vectors.

  • An alternative solution to the problem of obtaining acceptable performances on a fading channel is the diversity technique, which is widely used to combat the fading effects of time-variant channels. The symbol error probability of M-ary DPSK (MDPSK), PSK (MPSK) and QAM (MQAM) systems using 2 branches from the branch with the largest signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) at the output of L-branch selection combining(SC), i.e., SC2 in frequency-nonselective slow Nakagami fading channels with an additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is derived theoretically. These performance evaluations allow designers to determine M-ary modulation methods against Nakagami fading channels.

  • Fuzzy linear regression model has been widely studied with many successful applications but there have been only a few studies on the fuzzy regression model with monotonic response function as a generalization of the linear response function. In this paper, we propose the fuzzy regression model with the monotonic response function and the algorithm to construct the proposed model by using ${\alpha}-level$ set of fuzzy number and the resolution identity theorem. To estimate parameters of the proposed model, the least squares (LS) method and the least absolute deviation (LAD) method have been used in this paper. In addition, to evaluate the performance of the proposed model, two performance measures of goodness of fit are introduced. The numerical examples indicate that the fuzzy regression model with the monotonic response function is preferable to the fuzzy linear regression model when the fuzzy data represent the non-linear pattern.

  • In this paper, we design the Multi-FNN(Fuzzy-Neural Networks) using HCM Method. The proposed Multi-FNN uses simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and Error Back Propagation Algorithm as learning rules. Also, We use HCM(Hard C-Means) method of clustering technique for improvement of output performance from pre-processing of input data. The parameters such as apexes of membership function, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. We use the training and testing data set to obtain a balance between the approximation and the generalization of our model. Several numerical examples are used to evaluate the performance of the our model. From the results, we can obtain higher accuracy and feasibility than any other works presented previously.

  • In this paper, we design an Fuzzy-Neural Networks(FNN) by means of divisions of fuzzy input space with multi-input variables. Fuzzy input space of Yamakawa's FNN is divided by each separated input variable, but that of the proposed FNN is divided by mutually combined input variables. The membership functions of the proposed FNN use both triangular and gaussian membership types. The parameters such as apexes of membership functions, learning rates, momentum coefficients, weighting value, and slope are adjusted using genetic algorithms. Also, an aggregate objective function(performance index) with weighting value is utilized to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the data of sewage treatment process.

  • GENMET(GEneralized Multihop Network) which is based on Wavelength-Division Multiplexsing(WDM) and can be used in order to construct the next generation lightwave network is a logical(virtual), packet-switched and multihop topology network. GENMET is a regular multihop network which is a generalization of Shuffle network and do Bruijn network As such, it has the advantage of simple routing which is critical in a high speed network Given a physical topology, different logical topologies can be derived for assigning wavelengths to the UserNodes. By appropriately assigning wavelengths, performance of the network, such as mean hop count, maximum throughput and mean packet delay can be improved. In this paper, we propose heuristic algorithms for effectively assigning a limited number of wavelengths to the given UserNodes. The Performance of proposed algorithm is compared with the random assignment and the lower bounds.

  • In this paper, we propose HMCNN(hybrid multiple component neural networks) that enhance performance of MCNN by adapting new pattern partitioning algorithm which can cluster many input patterns efficiently. Added neural network performs similar learning procedure that of kohonen network. But it dynamically determine it's number of output neurons using algorithms that decide self-organized number of clusters and patterns in a cluster. The proposed network can effectively be applied to problems of large data as well as huge networks size. As a sresutl, proposed pattern partitioning network can enhance performance results and solve weakness of MCNN like generalization capability. In addition, we can get more fast speed by performing parallel learning than that of other supervised learning networks.

  • In this paper, the Multi-FNNs(Fuzzy-Neural Networks) architecture is identified and optimized using HCM(Hard C-Means) clustering method and genetic algorithms. The proposed Multi-FNNs architecture uses simplified inference and linear inference as fuzzy inference method and error back propagation algorithm as learning rules. Here, HCM clustering method, which is carried out for the process data preprocessing of system modeling, is utilized to determine the structure of Multi-FNNs according to the divisions of input-output space using I/O process data. Also, the parameters of Multi-FNNs model such as apexes of membership function, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. An aggregate performance index with a weighting factor is used to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model we use the time series data for gas furnace and the NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant.

  • SVM(Support Vector Machine) is a classification method which is recently watched in mechanical learning system. Vapnik, Osuna, Platt etc. had suggested methodology in order to solve needed QP(Quadratic Programming) to realize SVM so that have extended application field. SVM find hyperplane which classify into 2 class by converting from input space converter vector to characteristic space vector using Kernel Function. This is very systematic and theoretical more than neural network which is experiential study method. Although SVM has superior generalization characteristic, it depends on Kernel Function. There are three category in the Kernel Function as Polynomial Kernel, RBF(Radial Basis Function) Kernel, Sigmoid Kernel. This paper has analyzed performance of SVM against kernel using virtual data.

  • In this paper, we suggest a optimal design method of Fuzzy-Neural Networks model for complex and nonlinear systems. FNNs have the stucture of fusion of both fuzzy inference with linguistic variables and Neural Networks. The network structure uses the simpified inference as fuzzy inference system and the BP algorithm as learning procedure. And we use a clustering algorithm to find initial parameters of membership function. The parameters such as membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are easily adjusted using the genetic algorithms. Also, the performance index with weighted value is introduced to achieve a meaningful balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance index, we use the time series data for gas furnace and the sewage treatment process.
