Purpose .This study aims to assess the influence factors on the level of satisfaction with hospital training and to provide basic data for more efficient hospital practice of students' public health administration . Methods . We have conducted a survey on students satisfaction with their hands on practice against 200 students in Busan, Kyeongnam and Kyungbook area, who have completed their practice in public health administration. We have identified the general characteristics of the target respondents, the current training status of the department for the hospital practice and training venue; also analyzed the characteristics composed of the apprentice student's attitude before the practice, satisfaction with the department training program and hospital for practice, as well as their practice at hospital. The general characteristics of the target respondents and clinic practice status at the hospital were measured in percentage and frequency analysis; the average and standard deviations of hospital size were also measured; and the correlations between satisfaction with the department, attitude towards the practice and satisfaction with the hospital were analyzed. Results . Most public health administration students experienced their practice at the hospital after the first semester on the $2^{nd}$year and they have received the foundation training for the practice. The survey allowed multiple responses and the results are as follows: medical terminology 49.5%, medical coordinator 36.7%, Hospital administration 26.5%, Health insurance 17.3%, and medical recording and practice 13.8% respectively. In terms of each individual student's attitude towards the practice at the hospital, the respondents answered as follows: I have completed the obligatory subjects for the practice before the practice 89.5%; I have been fully informed on the hospital for my practice. 74.5%; I responsibly practiced and worked with professionalism and sense of belonging to the hospital as a member of staff 90%; I have actively learned and adopted 95%; My knowledge and skills from the practice was relevant to the theory and practice from my course 83.5%. The findings of satisfaction by size of hospital were in order of a small clinic($3.24{\pm}0.63$), medium sized clinic($3.27{\pm}0.65$), hospital ($3.20{\pm}0.61$), and large sized comprehensive hospital ($2.93{\pm}0.74$). Consequently the satisfaction rate shows no significant difference by size of hospital. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with subject, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.04), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.33). the matter of active adaptation attitude during practice (p=0.42), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with the hospital for practice, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.01), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.04), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. Conclusion . The most essential subject for the practice in public health administration is medical terminology and there is no significance in satisfaction with the practice by size of hospital. Students were content with the hospital where they can experience as much as possible. Students content with their major show positive attitude towards the practice and so do those content with the hospital. Those with the positive attitude towards the practice show the high correlation of satisfaction with both the major and hospital. As a result, the satisfaction with the major is the significant attribute to the practice in the hospital.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to minimize cross infection that can take place within dental office, to make dental workers recognize importance of infection management, and to improve dental-care environment that is exposed to infection. Methods : It conducted the self-reported questionnaire survey on the practice of wearing PPE(personal protective equipment) from April 1, 2008 to May 30 targeting 180 dental workers who are working for dental offices where are located in Jeonnam region. Results : 1. As for research subjects' general characteristics, age was the largest in under 29 years old with 75.0%. It was surveyed to be large in over 5 years(56.1%) for working career, in a city(83.3%) for working region, and in having licence of dental hygienist(75.0%). 2. As a result of surveying the practice of wearing PPE, wearing mask given dental care was surveyed to have the highest practice level with 75.6%. Wearing protective glasses showed the lowest practice ratio with 23.3%. 3. As a result of surveying the difference in the practice of wearing PPE according to general characteristics, the difference according to the working region was surveyed to be the greatest. Conclusions : As the above result, the education of infection management for dental workers needs to be performed continuously even after curriculum of school. Even the in-service education on infection management needs to be vitalized. Also, the necessity was examined for always recognizing and practicing importance of infection by using a method of publishing newsletter via post to dental clinics where are located in rural area, with considering regional deviation.
Purpose: This study was conducted to describe qualitatively the entities of nurse's experiences in general hospitals and to suggest basic data guiding research on developing Standards of clinical nursing practice in Korea. Method: Fourteen nurses working at general hospitals with over 300 beds in Seoul were interviewed in-depth until saturation using tape-recorders and transcription. Result: The central theme of clinical nursing practice experienced by subjects was "being with clients" that means accepting client's personal character, solving client's needs and providing client-centered nursing. A also "being with clients" was felt to be the responsibility of nurses which was learned from their nursing schools. The nursing strategies performed in order to be with patients were proving skillful nursing techniques, accepting, educating, emotional support, advocating, and self-reflecting, the subjects experienced somewhat problematic affects such as difficulties in interpersonal relationship, work overload, negative image of nursing, deficit of self-confidence for nursing actions, poor working conditions, and unfair treatment. Nurses at the hospital practiced with pride when they felt that they were accepted by clients. Conclusion: Further research is needed to analysis problems in clinical practice and the comparison of nurses' experiences of clinical practice, with nurses' experiences in various settings.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the oral health condition, recognition, and practice in prisoners. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 143 prisoners in three jails from April 7 to June 2, 2014. The questionnaire consisted of 35 questions including 5 questions of general characteristics of the subjects, 4 questions of subjective oral health condition, 5 questions of management of oral health care, 11 questions of oral health recognition, and 10 questions of oral health practice. The questionnaire was adopted and modified by Shon et al. and Cho & Choi and measured by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.845 in recognition questions and Cronbach's alpha was 0.826 in the practice questions. The data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 for t-test, one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: 21.0% of prisoners answered that their perceived oral health condition was good. Those who received the dental treatment accounted for 42.0% and 12.6% of them took the oral health education. There was a significantly negative relationship between perceived oral health and oral health recognition(p<0.05). The oral health recognition showed positive influence on oral health practice(p<0.001). Conclusions: In general, prisoners did not receive the proper care of oral health in jails. Therefore, It is desirable that we need to set up a oral health care system for prisoners.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the awareness and management practice of operating room nurses, to prevent nosocomial infection, to identify problems and to propose solutions. Method: The research tools used were the hospital infection control guideline and a modified version of the measurment tools used in the study of Cho (1998). The questionnaire consisted of questions on hand washing, personal hygiene and clothes control, cleaning and environment control, sterilizing supplies and disposal of contaminated materials. The collected data were analysed with the SPSS program. Results: The mean score for domain-specific awareness of nosocomial infection control was 4.81 out of a possible 5 points. The highest score was for sterilizing supplies and disposal of contaminated materials. The mean score for domain-specific practices of nosocomial infection control was 4.40, out of a possible 5 points. Sterilizing supplies and disposal of contaminated materials had the highest scores. The mean score for awareness in all domains was higher than mean score for practice. Among the general characteristics of the nurses, high awareness was found only in the provision of infection control guidelines and it had shown statistically significant difference. Examination of relation of general characteristics to practice showed that for age, career, the provision of infection control guidelines, and experience in infection control education there were statistically significant differences in the scores. For the relation between awareness of nosocomial infection control and practice, positive correlation was found in all domains, thus high awareness leads to high practice. Conclusion: Considering the result of this research, plans are needed that promote virtual practice of hospital infection control.
This study was conducted to examine the mediating effect of innovative behavior in the relationship between nurse manager's leadership and nurses' future use of evidence-based practice. Participants were 183 nurses working at general hospitals with over 500 beds in Korea. Nurse manager's transformational leadership was positively correlated with innovative behavior and nurses' future use of evidence-based practice. Innovative behavior showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between nurse manager's leadership and nurses' future use of evidence-based practice. These findings suggest that in order to enhance nurses' future use of evidence-based practice, the educational strategies to promote nurses' innovative behavior should be developed and provided in nursing field.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the role of nurse specialist in the general hospital, and to provide basic data for the role management of nurse specialist. Method: The subjects were 38 staff nurses who worked in a medical, surgical, or other department in one general hospital. Survey tools were developed with criteria for a clinical nurse specialist by American Nurses Association(1986), Korean Nurses Association(2001), Kim(2005)'s research, and the nurse specialists' self job description. Validity of the tool was examined by 5 clinical nursing experts and nurse specialists. Data analysis was done by using SPSS Win 12.0 program. Result: The results of domains for the job of nurse specialists were 61.6% for direct clinical practice, 21.7% for education, 5.7% for consultation, 5.2% for management, 5.2% for research, and 1.1% for other domains. The results for the large classifications in nurse specialists domains were 57.6% for direct nursing practice in direct clinical practice domain, 89.1% for patient education in education domain, 57.5% for medical consultation in consultation domain, 57.5% for medical research in research domain, and 39.2% for documentation in management domain. Conclusion: This research revealed that direct clinical practice domain was higher than the other domains of research, education, and management. Discussion and development about the nurse specialist's various roles needs to be addressed on a continual basis.
Recently, there has been an increasing interchange between South Korea and North Korea. Accordingly, there has been active research to understand the society and culture of North Korea, it has been attempted to have comparative study about nursing education to increase understanding between South and North Korea. In the current educational system, 12 years of education is required for entering a nursing college or university in South Korea, but there are only 10 years for entering nursing college in North Korea. After finishing undergraduate studies one can enter graduate school for a masters degree and or a doctoral degree, but there is a longitudinal relation to medical education in North Korea. Regarding the number of nursing educational institutions, there are 50 BSN programs & 61 Diploma programs in South Korea and 11 Diploma programs in North Korea. In regards to curriculum, South Korea has diverse subjects for general education for freshmen, then is subjects to basic specialities sophomore year, and speciality subject and clinical practices from junior year corresponding to the student's intentions. North Korea has minor subjects for general education and basic specialities in freshmen, speciality subjects sophomore year, speciality subjects and clinical practice in the junior year that may not correspond with the student's intentions. The most outstanding difference in the curriculum is North Korea has various subjects for oriental medicine with clinical application. North Korea also does not teach computer science and English is at a very low level. In clinical practice, South Korea has various settings for clinical practice including community health institutions under the nursing professor or clinical instructor. However, North Korea has limited settings for clinical practice (general hospitals) under a doctor's instruction. Also both South and North Korea have a similar licensing system. Therefore, there must be many more studies regarding North Korea, especially in nursing and nursing education in order to decrease differences and confusion between the Koreas and to prepare for a future unification.

Schedule control is an exceedingly fundamental and important construction business function. Even though enormous research efforts have been exerted in this area, there has been no comprehensive and quantitative study exploring detailed cost control practice of construction companies in terms of practical patterns and trends. In this context, this paper surveyed the patterns and trends of schedule control practice of Korean general contractors. Schedule control process as compared to schedule reduction is focused in this paper. The variables for practical schedule control process were identified first. A survey questionnaire was then developed and used in order to collect data from Korean general contractors. Survey results analyzing responses from 45 companies show that scheduling processes in practice have been significantly enhanced in terms of software tools, manuals, and capabilities of engineers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study aims to improve self-confidence, satisfaction and self fulfillment of dental technology students through practical skills competitions to meet the levels required by the industry. Method: The questionnaire was composed of 12 general characteristics, 23 self-efficacy, 25 practice satisfaction, 5 self-satisfaction, 12 self fulfillment out of 77 questions. The reliability of the surveys showed Cronbach' ${\alpha}=0.893$ on the self-efficacy, Cronbach' ${\alpha}=0.871$ on the practice satisfaction, Cronbach' ${\alpha}=0.857$ on self-satisfaction and Cronbach' ${\alpha}=0.941$ on self fulfillment. Results: Before and after the test result comparison showed a statistically significant difference for both men and women according to the general characteristics. Women's progress was higher than for men. The thought about dental technicians has changed for the better and showed a statistically significant difference. Subjects who have 3.1~3.5 school record showed the highest score on job skills, self-efficacy, practice satisfaction, self-satisfaction and self fulfillment according to the the general characteristics, and 3.6 ~ 4.0, 3.0 or less and 4.1 ~ 4.5 in order. Conclusion: This study was conducted with dental technology students who participated in practical skills competitions after 10 week 40 hours training in D college, and the results were as follows. Practical training improved the job performance, self-efficacy, practice satisfaction, self-satisfaction and self fulfillment improved significantly.
