  • The design of reactor internals requires the accurate vibration characteristics of each component for subsequent dynamic structural response analysis. For Korean standard nuclear power plant some modifications on the Control Element Assembly shroud from the reference design have been made. Since the shroud is complex in geometry having an array of vertical round tubes and webs in a square grid pattern, and being tied down by preloaded tie rods into position, it is planned to perform a vibration measurement program consisting of both experimental and analytical modal studies upon that component. To determine the proper test conditions, the pre-test analysis has been performed using the general purpose structural analysis program ANSYS. Also the effects of the number of master degrees of freedom, holes in the web and tie-rod preload on the natural frequencies are examined prior to the pre-test analysis. After decision of appropriate finite element model, frequency analysis and harmonic analysis are performed and ideas for the test conditions such as the number of measurement points, their locations, measurement frequency range and the excitation force level are determined.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between general health condition and biopsychological traits of Sasang typology which determines the disease susceptibility and treatment responses. We had Korean Constitutional Multicenter Bank (KCMB) listed 1156 participants for measuring Sasang Personality Questionnaire (SPQ) and Body Mass Index (BMI) for biopsychological traits of each Sasang types as well as Short Form 12 (SF12) for general health status. All the analysis was performed with consideration of gender and age. We analyzed the differences in general health status between Sasang types and the correlation between general health status and biopsychological traits of Sasang typology. We also analyzed how much the selected SF12 subscales can be explained with biopsychosocial characteristics. There were no generaliszable differences among Sasang type groups in SF12, no significant correlation between biopsychological traits and SF12 Physical and Mental Component Summary. We found that there were significant correlations between SPQ-Behavior subscale and SF12 Vitality, and the regression model with SPQ-Behavior, SPQ-Emotionality, age and sex can predict 15.4% of the total variances in SF12 Vitality. We discussed the possibility that the Sasang typology is not a determinant of general health status but a moderator for the susceptibility and response. This study would contribute to the development of Sasang type-specific life nurturing program focusing on the psychological perspectives.

  • This experiment was conducted as a part of Asia collaborative study on purpose of verifying the difference between CM6 and CM7 including 3R4F for reference. It carried out using various analytical categories for example, main stream, sidestream and Av. smoke. Additional analysis such as physical properties, blending ratio, combustibility and general leaf component analysis also implemented in order to investigate the difference. We complied with ISO standard and CORESTA recommended method during analytical operating procedures. In this study, we described that comparative analytical result for CM6 and CM7 known as reference or monitoring cigarettes including 3R4F for reference. All sample cigarettes were conditioned at $22^{\circ}C$, 60% relative humidity for 48 hours. Av. Smoke, MS and SS smoke analysis were performed over five times with two smoking condition, ISO and Health Canada with the exception of Av. smoke analysis. We complied with ISO standard method during analytical operating procedures. And, we conducted additional analysis, such as physical properties, blending ratio, combustibility and leaf component analysis also in order to investigate the difference. In conclusion, we found out some differences between CORESTA monitoring cigarette No. 6 and No 7. The smoke components such as total particulate matters, NFDPM, nicotine and carbon monoxide contents of CM7 were a little lower than CM6. And, these phenomena were the same as not only main stream smoke but also side stream smoke and Av. smoke. This tendency was consistent with ISO and Health Canada smoking condition. Besides, leaf constituents' color of CM7 was darker than CM6. In case of combustibility, it showed short combustion time approximately 30 seconds.

  • The classical Fourier analysis, which is the typical frequency domain approach, is used to detect periodic trends that are of the sinusoidal shape in time series data. In this article, using a sequence of periodic step functions, describes an adaptive Fourier series where the patterns may take general periodic shapes that include sinusoidal as a special case. The results, which extend both Fourier analysis and Walsh-Fourier analysis, are applies to investigate the shape of the periodic component. Through the real data, compare the goodness-of-fit of the model using two methods, the adaptive Fourier method which is proposed method in this paper and classical Fourier method.

  • Gold case which is called sarari container was excavated from Wangheungsaji of Buyeo in October 2007. This case did not contain sarira, but was filled with clear liquid. This study focused on component analysis of the liquid which had filled sarira container, because we didn't know if this case had not originally contained sarira or not. It is said that original sarira can be melted by a some liquid in this case. So, many kinds of samples which are liquid, soil and ground water, was collected from a inner and outer of sarira container, and analyzed using a IC, ICP-MS, GC-MS and SEM-EDS. As a result of analysis, all of the elements composition was identified by general components of soil and ground water. Especially, phosphate which is chemical element to consist of human bone, did not found in this liquid.

  • As more vehicles become equipped with advanced electronic control systems, more consideration is needed with regards to automotive safety issues related to the effects of electromagnetic waves. Unwanted electromagnetic waves from the antenna, electricity and other electronic devices cause the performance and safety problem of automotive components. In general, Power Integrity and Signal Integrity analysis have been widely used, but these analyses have stayed PCB level. PCB base analysis is different from radiated emission TEST condition so its results are used just for reference. This paper proposes EMC optimization technology using module level 3-dimensional radiation simulation process closed to fundamental test conditions. If module level EMC analysis, which is proposed in this study, is applied to all automotive electronics systems, unexpected EMC noise will be prevented.

  • This paper describes the simulation study. conducted on the propagation characteristics of AE signal. In the case of gas insulation, such as $SF_6$, the equipment is less affected by the environment condition than air insulation, because the component parts of equipment were placed in the enclosure, which is filled with compressed gas. But. when the breakdown in the electric insulation occurs. it takes much time and economical efforts to repair. Therefore it is very important to diagnose the equipment before the accident. And. in general. UHF and AE signal is the most common transducer to diagnose the state of the power equipment, so, in this investigation, we make a experimental apparatus with aluminum plate and transient analysis with ANSYS to observe the propagation characteristics of AE signal. Through the result of the analysis. we can make a further understanding on the propagation characteristics of AE signal, and get the fundamental skills for the GIS diagnosis.

  • Recently, hydraulic motor is getting the spotlight. It is resulted from rapid civil engineering public works by a lot of developing countries around the world. In this study, we divided the valves which are affixed in the hydraulic motor into some parts, implemented them through computer simulation, verified validation of each component, and analyzed behavior adding driving condition. Through the analyzed results with general driving condition, we found the reason why behavior became unstable as the motor had started spinning. Through the analyzed results with tough driving condition, we verified that the valve works well with it's production purpose.

  • In modern automotive control modules, mechanical failures of surface mounted electronic components such as microprocessors, crystals, capacitors, transformers, inductors, and ball grid array packages, etc., are mai or roadblocks to design cycle time and product reliability. This paper presents a general methodology of failure analysis and fatigue prediction of these electronic components under automotive vibration environments. Mechanical performance of these packages is studied through finite element modeling approach fur given vibration environments in automotive application. Using the results of vibration simulation, fatigue lift is predicted based on cumulative damage analysis and material durability information. Detailed model of solder/lead joints is built to correlate the system level model and obtain solder strains/stresses. The primary focus in this paper is on surface-mount interconnect fatigue failures and the critical component selected for this analysis is 80 pin plastic leaded microprocessor.
