This study aimed to analyze the consumption value and clothing pursuit benefits of genderless fashion based on gender identity. The study questionnaire was distributed to and collected from men and women in their 20s and 30s living in Seoul City and the Gyeonggi province. The collected data were analyzed by using Cronbachs α, factor analysis, K-means group classification analysis, and ANOVA. The study results were as follows. First, gender identity was categorized into three groups: the genderless group, the traditional gender rejection group, and the traditional gender acceptance group. Therefore, it is necessary to subdivide gender identity rather than acceptance and rejection of traditional gender roles. Second, an analysis of consumption value based on gender identity showed significant differences in terms of fashion value and expressive value. Therefore, it is important to establish a differentiated strategy based on the relevant gender identity group when establishing genderless fashion design or marketing strategy. Finally, the study results showed that clothing pursuit benefits based on gender identity, there was a significant difference in terms of individuality pursuit, deviation from the norm, and fashion pursuit. In particular, since the genderless phenomenon agrees with the characteristics of the MZ generation, it will be necessary to share brand information or product information through digital media or to utilize a sharing culture-that is, 'meaning out' tendency and 'flex culture' (i.e., conspicuous consumption).
The purpose of the study was to point out the limitation of the conceptual discussions in which researches on gender responsive budgeting have remained so far and to empirically analyze the effect of institutionalization of gender responsive budgeting on the gender equality by using macro data. The units of the analysis were 73 countries which implements gender responsive budgeting among the 229 countries registered in the World Bank. Panel data were established on the materials of 7-year period from 2006 to 2012, which were analyzed by Fixed Effect Model. Gender Equality (Gender Gap Index) which is the ultimate goal of gender budgeting was established as the dependent variable while Institutionalization of Gender Responsive Budgeting (formal and qualitative classification) was established as the independent variable. In addition, social and economic factors, political factors and geographical factors which were judged to affect dependent variables were established as control variables. As a result of analysis, the institutionalization of gender responsive budgeting has positive effect on gender equality. Thus, the study confirmed that gender responsive budgeting has positive effect on gender equality in countries with legal, procedural and formal foundations rather than in countries with simple rhetoric in catchwords and documents. Moreover, the higher the level of institutionalization of gender responsive budgeting is, the more positive effect it has on the gender equality. Therefore, the study found out that efforts need to be accompanied to enhance the level of institutionalization in order to increase the effectiveness of institutionalization of gender responsive budgeting.
Purpose: This study was done to investigate the relationship between the type of gender role identity and home environmental variables. Method: This study used a descriptive survey design and convenience sampling. Data were collected through self report questionnaires from 1,497 female high school students in Seoul. The data were analyzed by the SPSS 10.0 program, which included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square test, ANOVA, and Duncan test. Results: The androgyny gender role identity was most common (33.9%). The type of gender role identity had a significant correlation with home environmental variables (economic status, relationship with parents, father's education level, mother's education level. noninterference, reasonable guidance, affection, overprotection, achievement, active involvement, limit setting). Conclusion: It is necessary to provide parent education programs to help female adolescents develop gender role identity toward androgyny.
Technology and Home Economics are associated with gender-related roles. In this respect, students' attitude toward these subjects may be influenced by gender equity awareness with attitudes that may perpetuate gender-biased images of subjects. This study examined the influence of gender equity awareness of middle school students on attitudes toward Technology and Home Economics. Data were collected through a survey to 442 students from eight purposively sampled middle schools in Seoul. Three gender equity awareness groups were identified through a cluster analysis: Equity in house work group (n=163), Traditional gender role group (n=102), and Equity in all areas group (n=152). The analyses of variances enabled an examination of the effects of gender and gender equity awareness. Differences were found among gender and gender equity awareness groups on attitudes toward Home Economics, but not toward Technology. Girls showed higher preference, higher perceived usefulness than boys, but with a lower importance for career preparation for Home Economics. Traditional gender role group scored the lowest on usefulness and importance for everyday life, yet highest on importance for career preparation. Equity in all areas group perceived lowest importance of Home Economics for career preparation. The results show that Home Economics is more strongly gender-typed than Technology, and that effort is needed to change the gender-biased image of the subject.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate gender stereotype and job satisfaction, and to identify the relationship between gender stereotype and job satisfaction in male nurses. Method: The participants were 165 male nurses who worked in the Seoul, Gyeonggi and Daejeon areas. Data were collected from August 31th, 2009 to October 15th, 2009. A survey questionnaire was used to measure demographics, gender-role identity, gender stereotype and job satisfaction. Data were analyzed using SPSS/Win 12.0 version. Results: The mean score for gender stereotype was 2.81 points out of a possible 5. There were statistically significant differences in gender stereotype by general characteristics such as career in the current department (F=5.249, p=.007) and position (t=2.547, p=.012). The scores for gender stereotype were significantly higher in the group with less than five years in the current department and in the staff nurse group. The mean score for job satisfaction was 2.95 out of a possible 5. There was a significant negative correlation between gender stereotype and job satisfaction. Conclusions: Development of educational programs is required to improve the gender stereotype.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between children's gender role attitude measured by component model and social competency. Subjects were 232 elementary school children: 113 4th graders and 119 6th graders. The main results were as follows. First there were significant differences in mean scores of gender role attitude with age and sex variable. And among three dimensions of component model(i.e, gender label-component links within-component links between-component links) the difference was most discriminant in gender label-component links. Second there were significant relationship between gender role attitude and social competency. Among three dimensions of gender role attitude the most predictor variable for social competency was gender label-component links. And among four dimensions of social competency the most effective criterion variable for gender role attitude was leadership. And there were significant differences in social competency score with mother's educational level and sex of children as well as gender role attitude. In conclusion children's gender role attitude influence their social competency. More flexible gender role attitude they have more improved in their social competency , especially in boys.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the structure and characteristics among college students' gender-role identity. Method: The study used a Q-method to measure college students' gender-role identity types. Korean Gender Role Identity Inventory(KGRII) formed the Q sample. The P sample consisted of a convenience sample of 44 college students. Q statements were written on separate cards and were given to the subjects to sort according to degree of agreement or disagreement. The Q-sorts by each subject were coded and analyzed with the Quanl PC program. Result: From data, three types were extracted. Three types showed a low correlation with each other, and accounted for 41 percent of the variance of the participants. The first type, a 'sex-role transcendence', expresses warm, humane, and kind. The second type, a 'masculinity intention type', has leadership, activity, power, and initiative. And the third type, a 'femininity intention type' pursues emotional, expressive, delicate and tactful. Conclusion: This paper classifies and subdivides three types of gender-role identity in college students. It helps understanding of gender-role identity, and further developing a sense of value and attitude related to gender identity in college students.

The textbook is a predominant feature of most classrooms. Because the textbook is an important aspect of educational experience, it is essential that the content of the texts be carefully scrutinized. The purpose of this study was to examine the visual portrayal of gender groups in elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks developed by the 6th National Science Curriculum. An instrument was developed to analyze the nature and type of activity engaged in by these groups as well as how often members of these groups were portrayed. Data were collected from 8 elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks. The results show the following two different features. While the elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks do not show gender-biases in representing science learning activities such as observing, experimenting, measuring, they show distinct gender-stereotyped roles and activities. It is expected that the results of this study are considered in developing the new elementary "Science" textbooks which show gender-fairness.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the difference between traditional gender role attitude and realistic dual earner attitude. Most preceding studies analyzed gender role attitude by summated rating scale while few studies have been conducted on the difference between traditional gender role attitude and dual earner attitude. Method: By using the 9th Korea Welfare Panel Data (year 2014), this study extracted households of married couples and with children in working age (18 through 64 years of age) who are the main subjects in work-family relationship. First, this study classified traditional group and modern group in their gender role attitude and passive group and active group in their dual earner attitude and by crossing these attitudes, drew out 4 gender role/dual earner attitudes. For analysis, this study investigated frequency of attitude types through descriptive statistics. By conducting ANOVA, study verified if there are significant differences in the satisfaction with family relationship depending on the types of gender role/dual earner attitudes. Lastly, study examined the effect of socio-economic status and demographic characteristics on the types of gender role/dual earner attitudes by conducting multi-nominal logistic regression analysis. Results: As the result of analysis, first, half of respondents belonged to 'equal-role-oriented type' who has modern gender role attitude and active dual earner attitude. However, there were not a few 'dual-earner-avoiding type' who has modern gender role attitude but passive dual earner attitude and 'incongruous attitude type' who has traditional gender role attitude but active dual earner attitude. Next, 'incongruous attitude type' had significantly low level of satisfaction with overall family life, relationship with spouse and relationship with children than other attitude types. Lastly, those whose incomes belong to poor strata, those who are high school graduates and lower, males and those who are over the age of 60 had significantly higher probability of belonging to 'incongruous attitude type.' Conclusion: The results of analysis demonstrate that the difference between gender role attitude and dual earner attitude is an important matter and since 'incongruous attitude type' exhibits low level of satisfaction with family relationship, scrupulous policy approaches are required for those who have high possibility of belonging to 'incongruous attitude type.'
The purpose of this study was to examine (1) if sociocultural factors that are known to influence gender gap in mathematics achievement are gender equitable for Singaporean eighth grade students, (2) if there is a higher level of gender equitability in students' attitudes towards mathematics and (3) how sociocultural factors influence mathematics achievement for Singaporean eighth grade students. This study is based on 5,923 Singaporean eighth grade students who participated in TIMSS 2011 assessment. The study found that there were no statistically significant gender differences in 'parental involvement in education' and 'teacher efficacy.' There were no statistically significant gender differences in students' attitudes of 'like learning mathematics,' and 'value learning mathematics'. A significant gender difference was identified for the attitude of 'confident with mathematics.' The boys displayed a higher level of confidence in mathematics than the girls consistent with other study findings for Asian students. The degree of effect from 'parental involvement in education,' 'teacher efficacy,' and 'confident with mathematics' on mathematics achievement are found to be stronger for girls than boys. The finding implies that girls' mathematics achievement can benefit from having more positive encouragement and involvement of parents and teachers and strengthening confidence in mathematics.
