The dose re-calculation process using Megavoltage cone-beam CT images is inevitable process to perform the Adaptive Radiation Therapy (ART). The purpose of this study is to improve dose re-calculation accuracy using MVCBCT images by applying intensity calibration method and three dimensional rigid body transform and filtering process. The three dimensional rigid body transform and Gaussian smoothing filtering process to MVCBCT Rando phantom images was applied to reduce image orientation error and the noise of the MVCBCT images. Then, to obtain the predefined modification level for intensity calibration, the cheese phantom images from kilo-voltage CT (kV CT), MVCBCT was acquired. From these cheese phantom images, the calibration table for MVCBCT images was defined from the relationship between Hounsfield Units (HUs) of kV CT and MVCBCT images at the same electron density plugs. The intensity of MVCBCT images from Rando phantom was calibrated using the predefined modification level as discussed above to have the intensity of the kV CT images to make the two images have the same intensity range as if they were obtained from the same modality. Finally, the dose calculation using kV CT, MVCBCT with/without intensity calibration was applied using radiation treatment planning system. As a result, the percentage difference of dose distributions between dose calculation based on kVCT and MVCBCT with intensity calibration was reduced comparing to the percentage difference of dose distribution between dose calculation based on kVCT and MVCBCT without intensity calibration. For head and neck, lung images, the percentage difference between kV CT and non-calibrated MVCBCT images was 1.08%, 2.44%, respectively. In summary, our method has quantitatively improved the accuracy of dose calculation and could be a useful solution to enhance the dose calculation accuracy using MVCBCT images.

New lasers such as high power, high brightness and short wavelength laser are using diverse industry. Also new technologies are developing actively to solve various issues such as spattering, process monitoring, deep penetration and key-hole stability. ICALEO is the international congress where recent technology for laser material processing and laser system are present. At 2014, it was held at San Diego in USA and more than 260 papers were presented from 28 country. The effect of the laser beam shape such as Gaussian like and top-hat was investigated on acoustic emission signal and pore formation in welding. Inline penetration depth was measured with ICI(Inline Coherent Imaging) technique and the data was verified with real time X-ray image on laser welding. The laser welding performance at low pressure environment was evaluated for the thick plate alloy steel. UV laser was used to weld various metals such as Cu, Aluminum, steel and stainless steel. The effect of the wavelength of the laser on the formation of the wave at the wall of the key-hole front and the absorptivity was investigated.

An optical technique using laser for non-contact measurement of surface roughness and form accuracy of ground surfaces is presented. It is found that, when a ground surface is illuminated by a beam of laser light, the roughness height and slope distribution has significant influence on the pattern of reflection and it maintains an unique Gaussian distribution relationship with the surface roughness. The principle idea of the optical measurement system is therefore monitor the radiation, and then calibrate it in process against surface roughness by means of necessary digital data processing. On the other hand, measuring the form accuracy of a ground surface is accomplished by using a triangular method, which is based on observing the movement of an image of a spot of light projected onto the surface. The image is focused, through a series of lenses for magnification, on a photodetector array lf line configur- ation. Then the relative movement of image and consequently the form accuracy of the surface can be obtained through appropriate calibration procedures. Experimental test showed that the optical roughness measurement technique suggested in this work is very efficient for most industrial applications being capable of monitoring the roughness heights ranging 0.1 to 0.6 .$\mu$m CLA values. And form accuracy can be measured in process with a resolution of 10 .$\mu$m.

In this paper, tried to find out the proper luminous intensity distribution for the cabin with low-level height by analyzing the changing tendency of discomfort glare according to luminous intensity distribution of marine indoor luminaires using Unified Glare Rating(UGR). First, we analyzed UGR of the indoor luminaires in the existing cabin, and then evaluated influence on luminous intensity distributions of marine indoor luminaire. The results showed that $cos^2{\Theta}$ distribution got almost low UGR results regardless of height and UGR 16.5 in cabin height of 2m. However, Gaussian distribution with the same beam angle showed that UGR results consistently increased by getting lower height and UGR 20.7 in the same height. In conclusion, the $cos^2{\Theta}$ distribution in consideration of luminous intensity on the direction of observer's eye was appropriate for general cabin indoor luminaires because it decreased UGR in the low-level height.
KASI and NAOJ are making collaborating efforts to implement faster mapping capability into the new 275-500 GHz Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment focal plane array (FPA). Feed horn antenna is one of critical parts of the FPA. Required fractional bandwidth is almost 60 % while that of traditional conical horn is less than 50 %. Therefore, to achieve this wideband performance, we adopted a horn of which the corrugation depths have a longitudinal profile. A profiled horn has features not only of wide bandwidth but also of shorter length compared to a linear-tapered corrugated horn, and lower cost fabrication with less error can be feasible. In our design process the flare region is represented by a cubic splined curve with several parameters. Parameters of the flare region and each dimension of the throat region are optimized by a differential evolution algorithm to keep >20 dB return loss and >30 dB maximum cross-polarization level over the operation bandwidth. To evaluate RF performance of the horn generated by the optimizer, we used a commercial mode matching software, WASP-NET. Also, Gaussian beam (GB) masks to far fields were applied to give better GB behavior over frequencies. The optimized design shows >23 dB return loss and >33 dB maximum cross-polarization level over the whole band. Gaussicity of the horn is over 96.6 %. The length of the horn is 12.5 mm which is just 57 % of the ALMA band 8 feed horn (21.96 mm).
We report the design and basic operating characteristics of an radio frequency excited waveguide $CO_2$ laser. Four picecs of waveguide channels are placed in one laser cavity to increase a power per unit length with the form of a 2 ${\times}$ 2 matrix. Four independent optical outputs are measured from the front of output coupler, and these beams are combined to a Gaussian mode beam far from the output coupler. A 12 W output power has been obtained with $CO_2$ : $N_2$ : He : Xe = 1 : 1 : 3 : 0.2 of the gas mixture and 200 W of radio frequency.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the welding distortion at the channel I butt SA weldment. In order to do it, the heat input model for the weldment was defined as combined heat source with the surface heat flux of gaussian mode and volume heat source uniformly distributed within weld groove on the basis of comparing the shapes of molten pool and temperature distribution obtained by FEA and experiment. The arc efficiency of SA welding for 2 dimensional FE analysis was determined as 0.85. The results of welding distortions at the weldment obtained by FEA and heat input conditions proposed have a good agreement with those obtained by experiment. Based on the results, it was suggested that the proper heat input model should be required to evaluate the welding distortion for weldment.

The present study employs weak shock theory and bio-heat transfer function to predict the temperature rise due to nonlinear propagation of high amplitude ultrasound. The theory shows that, for the focused ultrasound which is assumed to have an gaussian beam profile and has the focal intensity of $1000W/cm^2$, the temperature rise of liver tissue exposed for 1 second to the energy lost during nonlinear propagation goes up to about $30^{\circ}C$. This indicate that it is necessary to consider the nonlinear propagation induced heating enhancement when setting exposure condition of high intensity focused ultrasound used for cancer thermotherapy.

In this study, both experimental and analytical study for behavior of the existing composite steel box girder bridges, constructed along with the procedure of continuous placing slab, are conducted to establish the validity of the proposed model. The layer approach is adopted to determine the equilibrium condition in a section to consider the different material properties and concrete cracking across the sectional depth, and the beam element stiffness is constructed on the basis of the assumed displacement field formulation and the 3-points Gaussian Integration. In addition, the effects of creep and shrinkage of concrete for time-dependent behavior of the bridge are taken into consideration. Finally, both analytical and experimental results are compared.
