Smart livestock, which combines information and communication technology (ICT) with livestock, can be said to be an effective solution to existing livestock problems such as productivity improvement, odors, and diseases. So far, it has hardly been universalized; thus, it is necessary to develop automation devices to reduce labor by localizing automation devices to expand the distribution of ICT technology to farms, and to advance precise specifications and health management technology using biometric information. Weighing scales currently being used in livestock farms are to prevent the spread of diseases by diagnosis and preparation for AI and other diseases in advance, using information on the growing weight of duck breeding. However, accurate values cannot be obtained due to poor breeding conditions. In this paper, we developed a separate data transmission system kit for the weighing scale and placed the sensor on top of the weighing scale so that the sensor wire is not affected by pollutants or ducks on the floor. A display function was provided, and a method of receiving and analyzing the serial port data of the weighing device, and then transmitting them to the data collection server was implemented.

It is important to develop a digital SOC (Social Overhead Capital) maintenance system for preemptive maintenance in response to the rapid aging of social infrastructures. Abnormal signals induced from structures can be detected quickly and optimal decisions can be made promptly using IoT sensors deployed on the structures. In this study, a digital SOC monitoring system incorporating a multimetric IoT sensor was developed for long-term monitoring, for use in cloud-computing server for automated and powerful data analysis, and for establishing databases to perform : (1) multimetric sensing, (2) long-term operation, and (3) LTE-based direct communication. The developed sensor had three axes of acceleration, and five axes of strain sensing channels for multimetric sensing, and had an event-driven power management system that activated the sensors only when vibration exceeded a predetermined limit, or the timer was triggered. The power management system could reduce power consumption, and an additional solar panel charging could enable long-term operation. Data from the sensors were transmitted to the server in real-time via low-power LTE-CAT M1 communication, which does not require an additional gateway device. Furthermore, the cloud server was developed to receive multi-variable data from the sensor, and perform a displacement fusion algorithm to obtain reference-free structural displacement for ambient structural assessment. The proposed digital SOC system was experimentally validated on a steel railroad and concrete girder bridge.

We develop architecture of a virtual aggregation gateway (VAG) which enables composite application streaming based on N-Screen-as-a-Service (NaaS) using cloud computing in thin-client environment. We also discuss the problem of server computing burden in large scale multi-client case for screens sharing with composite application streaming over the internet. In particular, we propose an efficient Framework of N-Screen Session Manager which manages all media signaling that are necessary to deliver demanded contents. Furthermore, it will provides user with playback multimedia contents method (TV Drama, Ads, and Dialog etc) which is not considered in other research papers. The objectives of proposing N-Screen Session Manager are to (1) manage session status of all communication sessions (2) manage handling of received request and replies (3) allow users to playback multimedia contents anytime with variety of devices for screen sharing and (4) allow users to transfer an ongoing communication session from one device to another. Furthermore, we discuss the major security issues that occur in Session Initiation Protocol as well as minimizing delay resulted from session initiations (playback or transfer session).
An IP address shortage problem is happening with a rapid propagation of the Internet and demands about a new IP address. Address translation technology as NAT is becoming use widely in order to solve these problems. NAT is an very useful If address translation technique that allows two connected networks to use different and incompatible IP address schemes. Rut it is difficult to use NAT particularly for applications that embeded IP addresses in data payloads or encrypted IP packet to guarantee End-to-End Security such as IPSec. In addition to rewiting the source/destination IP address in the packet, NAT must modify IP checksum every time, which could lead to considerablely performance decrease of the overall system in the process of address translation. RSIP is an alternative to solve these disadvantages and address shortage problems of NAT. Both NAT and RSIP divide networks into inside and outside addressing realms. NAT translates addresses between internal network and external network, but RSIP uses a borrowed external address for outside communications. RSIP server assigns a routable, public address to an RSIP client temporaily to communicate with public network outside the private network. In this paper, I will analyze NAT and RSIP gateway system, and then I will propose the Linux-based RSIP gateway for more efficient IP Address Translation in Intranet environments based on RSIP standard of IETF.
Asymmetric networks that the downlink bandwidth is larger than the uplink bandwidth may cause the degradation of the TCP performance due to the uplink congestion. In order to solve this problem, this paper designs and implements the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism which offers a suitable segment size for current networks. The proposed mechanism does not require any changes in customer premises but suppress the number of ACKs using segment reassembly technique to avoid the uplink congestion. The gateway which adapted the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism, detects the uplink congestion condition and dynamically measures the bandwidth asymmetric ratio and the packet loss ratio. The gateway reassembles some of segments received from the server into a large segment and transmits it to the client. This reduces the number of corresponding ACKs. In this mechanism, the SACK option is used when occurs the bit error during the transmission. Based on the simulation in the GEO satellite network environment, we analyzed the performance of the Dynamic Segment Size Control mechanism.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an environment in which various devices provide services to users through communications. Because of the nature of the IoT, data are stored and distributed in heterogeneous information systems. In this situation, IoT end applications should be able to access data without having information on where the data are or what the type of storage is. This mechanism is called Service Discovery (SD). However, some problems arise, since the current SD architectures search for data in physical devices. First, turnaround time increases from searching for services based on physical location. Second, there is a need for a data structure to manage devices and services separately. These increase the administrator's service configuration complexity. As a result, the device-oriented SD structure is not suitable to the IoT. Therefore, we propose an SD structure called Name-based Service-centric Service Discovery (NSSD). NSSD provides name-based centralized SD and uses the IoT edge gateway as a cache server to speed up service discovery. Simulation results show that NSSD provides about twice the improvement in average turnaround time, compared to existing domain name system and distributed hash table SD architectures.
Home networking and Internet control technologies must satisfy three requirements with a view to being applied to home for raising the qualify of human life. Firstly, the cost of adding home networking ability to the traditional appliance must be minimized. Secondly, the mutual accessibility between home network and Internet must be guaranteed in the various Internet service environment of home. Finally, communication must be possible between the home network and the Internet that use different communications protocols. This paper proposes the ARCS (Appliance Remote Control System) that controls appliances based on LnCP (Living network Control Protocol) via the Internet. LnCP is the most cost-effective network and control protocol for home network. ARCS guarantees the accessibility from the Internet to home network and provides users with the virtual interface designed for controlling appliances using the Internet application program. In addition, this paper proposes AICS (Appliance Internet Control Specification). AICS, is based on LnCP, defines the message structure and control commands for the Internet control communication. ARCS and home gateway are developed to meet AICS.

In an proposed Context-Aware SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) based OSGi(Open Service Gateway initiative) platform, Service provider manages relative kinds of services in an integrative basis from various sensors, puts each service in a SOAP (Simple Object access Protocol) message, and register thorn to the UDDI(Universal Description Discovery and Integration) server of service registry, service requester retrivel the specified kinds of services and call them to service provider. Recently most context-aware technologies for ubiquitous home network are mainly putting emphasis on RFID/USN and location-based technology. Because of this, service-oriented architecture researches have not been made enough. Under the environment of an OSGi service platform, various context-aware services are dynamically mapping from various sensors, new services are being offered for the asking of users, and existing services are changing. Accordingly, the data sharing between services provided, management of service life cycle, and the facilitation of service distribution are needed. Taking into considering all these factors, this study has suggested an Context-Aware SOA based eclipse SOA Tools Platform using OSGi platform that can transaction throughtput of more than 546 TPS of distributional Little's Law from ATAM(Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method) while remaining stable other condition.

Although there exist many middlewares such as Havi, Jini, LonWorks, UPnP, and SLP, new middlewares specialized for diverse information appliances are expected to appear continuously as home networks evolve. In this paper, we examine an integrated architecture for supporting interoperability among heterogeneous middlewares under home network, we also propose and implement a scenario-based user-oriented integrated architecture for efficient home automation which is different from existing methods. HOMI(Homenetwork Middleware for Interoperability) architecture proposed in this paper provides interfaces that assist users with designing and modifying desirable scenarios using a script interpreter language HOMIL(HOMI Language). Different from an existing integrated middleware architecture, HOMI improves efficiency and convenience of interoperation between heterogeneous appliances for home automation allowing users to design and organize scenarios through these interfaces. HOMI classifies interoperation services into time contort, synchronization context, and asynchronization context and helps to execute next services considering contexts when a specific event occurs. Applying modified scenarios immediately to home network environment, HOMI provides users with seamless services without installing new applications, updating the server, or rebooting in order to adopt new scenarios. Lastly, distribution agents into several devices, we solved the overhead problem occurred in a centralized architecture for integrated middleware.
