난류 용탕 In-situ 합성 믹서의 설계 및 Cu-TiB2 나노 복합재료의 제조 (Design of Turbulent In-situ Mixing Mixer and Fabrication of Cu-TiB2 Nanocomposities)

  • Turbulent in-situ mixing process is a new material process technology to get dispersed phase in nanometer size by controlling reaction of liquid/solid, liquid/gas, flow ana solidification speed simultaneously. In this study, mixing which is the key technology to this synthesis method was studied by computational fluid dynamics. For the simulation of mixing of liquid metal, static mixers investigated. Two inlets for different liquid metal meet ana merge like 'Y' shape tube having various shapes and radios of curve. The performance of mixer was evaluated with quantitative analysis with coefficient of variance of mass fraction. Also, detailed plots of intersection were presented to understand effect of mixer shape on mixing. The simulations show that the Reynolds number (Re) is the important factor to mixing and dispersion of $TiB_2$ particles. Mixer was designed according to the simulation, and $Cu-TiB_2$ nano composites were evaluated. $TiB_2$ nano particles were uniformly dispersed when Re was 1000, and cluster formation and reduction in volume fraction of $TiB_2$ were found at higher Re.

Chamber System을 이용한 조선왕조실록의 미세유출가스 분석 (Analysis of VOCs emitted from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty by Dynamic Chamber System)

  • The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty is one of the World Heritage which should be conserved well. However, some of wax treated volume of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty have damaged seriously. Currently a variety of efforts to conserve and restore the injured volumes are continued and many studies about the aging mechanism of the wax treated volume have being progressed. The analysis of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) emitted from paper cultural heritage is one of the methods to understand the degradation pathway of paper cultural heritage. The analysis of VOCs emitted from paper cultural heritage has been mainly conducted by SPME (Solid Phase Microextraction) method. SPME is potable and simple method but it is difficult to collect all VOCs emitted from a book such as the Annals of Joseon Dynasty. The dynamic chamber system has generally used to do analysis of VOCs emitted from the building materials, furniture and electric appliances. The chamber system is possible to do quantitative and qualitative analysis by a continuous $N_2$ gas flow and the proper chamber which is able to gather all VOCs emitted from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. In this study, the most material among detected VOCs was Naphthalene. Naphthalene has used to prevent organic cultural heritage from being damaged by various microbes for a long time. Apart from Naphthalene, main VOCs were Acetic acid, 2-Chloroethanol, 2-Bromoethanol, Furfural, 1-Methylnaphthalene, Azulene, and 2,4-Dioctylphenol. Of these VOCs, Furfural especially was known for a marker which represents a different emission rate according to the aging level.

경사 평판에 충돌하는 초음속 과소팽창 제트에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Supersonic Underexpanded Jet Impinging on an Inclined Plate)

  • 고체 물체 표면이나 지표면에 초음속 제트가 충돌할 때 발생되는 문제들은 다단 로켓의 분리, 우주공간에서의 도킹, 수직 이/착륙기, 제트 엔진의 배기가스, 가스터빈 블레이드, 지상 로켓 발사 등의 다양한 상황에서 일어나며 이러한 충돌제트의 유동은 아음속과 초음속 혼합영역, 충격파가 교차하는 영역, 팽창파, 난류 전단층 등의 매우 복잡한 구조를 이루고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 출구마하수 2, 축소-확대형 초음속 노즐을 통해 과소 팽창된 제트가 수직, 경사평판에 부딪힐 때 형성되는 표면압력분포 및 유동가시화 등을 초음속 유동시험장치를 이용하여 연구하였다. 평판에서의 최대압력은 수직일 경우보다 경사졌을 때 훨씬 더 컸으며, 이는 여러 충격파를 통한 압력 회복 때문이다. 또한, 평판이 자유제트의 첫 번째 충격파 셀 내에 위치할 때 과소 팽창비에 따른 표면압력분포는 서로 유사한 경향을 보여주었다.

Study on the Performance of Laser Welded joint of Aluminum alloys for Car Body

  • Considering the fuel consumption of car, a light structure of aluminum alloys is desired for car body nowadays. However, fusion welding of aluminum alloys has some problems of reduction of joint efficiency, porosity formation and hot cracking. ill the present work, investigation to improve the joint performance of laser welded joint has been carried out by addition of Cu, Ni, and Zr to A6N01 alloy welds. Aluminum alloy plate of 2.0mm in thickness with filler metal bar was welded by twin beam Nd:YAG laser facility (total power:5kW). The filler metals were prepared by changing the chemical compositions for adding the elements into the weld metal. Thirteen filler metal bars were prepared and pre-placed into the base metal before welding. Ar gas shielding with a flow rate of 10 l/min was used. The defocusing distance is kept at 0 mm. At travel speeds of 3 to 9 m/min and at laser power of 5kW (front beam 2kW rear beam 3kW), full penetration welds were obtained, whereas at travel speeds of 12 to 18 m/min and same power, partial penetration was observed. The joint efficiency of laser-welded joint was improved by the addition of Cu, Ni, and Zr due to the solid solution hardening, grain refining and precipitation hardening. The type of hardening has been further considered by metallurgical examination.

  • 상용 순환 유동층 연소로(200 ton steam/hr, $4.97{\times}9.90{\times}28.98m$)의 수관벽에서 전열관의 마모속도를 측정 및 고찰하였다. 전열관의 두께는 초음파 측정방법을 이용하여 측정되었다. Splash 영역에서 윙월을 포함한 모든 수관벽 전열관의 마모속도가 두드러졌다. 전열관의 마모속도는 분배기로부터 높이가 증가함에 따라서 감소한 후 다시 증가하였다. 프리보드 기체출구 부근의 윙월에서는 기체 및 고체흐름의 편향성으로 인한 마모속도의 차이도 나타났다. 윙월의 마모속도는 연소로 단면의 중앙에 위치할수록 크게 나타났다.

불포화지반에 대한 열-수리-역학 거동의 수식화 (Formulation of Fully Coupled THM Behavior in Unsaturated Soil)

  • 일반적인 불포화지반의 거동뿐만 아니라, 열과 관련된 분야, 지반환경 분야 등 다양한 분야에서 불포화 다공질 재료의 열적-수리적-역학적으로 결합된 문제들이 대두되면서 이러한 문제들을 해석하기 위한 수치도구 개발의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 거시적 접근법(macroscopic approach)에 근거하여 불포화지반에 대한 열-수리-역학거동의 수식화를 하였다. 흙, 물, 공기에 대한 질량보존의 법칙, 에너지 보존법칙, 그리고 하중평형 조건식으로부터 결합된(coupled) 4개의 지배방정식을 유도하였다. Galerkin 간략화와 시간적분으로부터 주 변수인 변위(u), 가스압($P_g$), 유체압($P_1$), 온도(T)를 Newton의 반복과정을 이용하여 구하는 유한요소 프로그램(FEM)을 작성하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 이용하여 다공질재료에서 2상 흐름 문제 중 일차원 배수실험(u-$P_g-P_1$), 온도 압밀(u-$P_1$-T), 그리고 지표면 온도변화에 의한 말뚝의 주변지반에 대한 영향(u-$P_1$-T)에 대하여 수치해석을 수행하고 논의하였다.

열 질식에 의한 덕티드 로켓 가스 발생기의 연소 압력 상승 (A Sudden Increase in Combustion Pressure of Gas Generator of Ducted Rocket by Thermal Choking)

  • 덕티드 로켓 가스발생기용 추진제 성능을 검증하기 위한 실험에서 직경이 10mm인 파이프와 최소 직경이 8.7mm인 수축 노즐을 배출 튜브로 사용하였을 때 급격한 압력 증가가 관찰되었다. 급격한 연소 압력 증가는 배출 튜브를 통과하는 유동의 열 질식(thermal choking) 때문인 것으로 판단하였다. 본 연구에서는 원형 파이프를 사용하는 경우, 배출 튜브 유동의 열 질식을 고려하여 가스발생기 연소 압력 변화를 예측하였다. 그 결과, 배출가스의 비-평형 화학반응으로 인한 배출 튜브 유동의 열 질식 발생이 급격한 연소 압력 증가의 원인임을 확인하였다. 특히 덕티드 로켓의 높은 압력 지수는 배출 튜브 내에서 발생하는 열에 매우 민감하게 반응하여 배출 튜브 내의 열 질식 가능성을 높이는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 배출 튜브로 단면적의 변화가 있는 발산형 파이프를 사용하면 가스발생기의 급격한 연소 압력 증가를 예방할 수 있을 것으로 판단하였다.

연속냉각 중 과냉 된 $Pd_{40}Cu_{30}Ni_{10}P_{20}$ 합금 용탕의 실시간 응고거동 관찰 (In Situ Observation of Solidification Behavior in Undercooled $Pd_{40}Cu_{30}Ni_{10}P_{20}$ Alloy Melts during Linear Cooling)

  • In the undercooled melt of $Pd_{40}Cu_{30}Ni_{10}P_{20}$ alloy, the solidification behavior including nucleation and growth of crystals at the micrometer level has been observed in-situ by use of a confocal scanning laser microscope combined with an infrared image furnace. The $Pd_{40}Cu_{30}Ni_{10}P_{20}$ alloy specimens were cooled from the liquid state to glass transition temperature. 575 K, at various cooling late under a helium gas flow. According to the cooling rate, the morphologies of the solidification front are changed among various types, irregular jog like front, columnar dendritic front, cellular grain, star like shape jog and fine grain, etc. The velocities of the solid-liquid interface are measured to be $10^{-5}{\sim}10^{-8}$ m/s which are at least two orders higher than the theoretical crystal growth rates. Combining the morphologies observed in terms of cooling rates and their solidification behaviors, we conclude that phase separation takes place in the undercooled molten $Pd_{40}Cu_{30}Ni_{10}P_{20}$ alloy. The continuous cooling transformation (CCT) diagram was constructed from solidification onset time at various linear cooling conditions with different rate. The CCT diagram suggests that the critical cooling rate for glassy solidification is about 1.5 K/s, which is in agreement with the previous calorimetric findings.

  • To check applicability of recently developed new oxygen carrier for 0.5 MWth chemical looping combustion system, reactivity tests were carried out at high temperature and high pressure conditions. Pressure, temperature, gas velocity, $CH_4$ flow rate, and solid height were considered as operating variables. The new oxygen carrier (N016-R4) showed not only high fuel conversion but also high $CO_2$ selectivity within all the operating conditions in this study. The reactivity of N016-R4 particle was compared with previous oxygen carriers. The N016-R4 particle represented outstanding reactivity among 10 oxygen carriers in terms of fuel conversion and $CO_2$ selectivity.
