  • As the online game market grows, illegal activities such as cheating play using game bots or game hack programs, running private servers, hacking game companies' system and network, and account theft are also increasing. There are various security measures for online games to prevent illegal activities. However, the current security measures are not enough to prevent all highly evolving game attacks and frauds. Some security measure can do harm game players usability, game companies need to develop usable security measure that is well fit to game genre and contents design. In this study, we surveyed the recent trend of various security measure applied in online games. This research also classified illegal activities and their related countermeasure for detection and prevention.

  • The progress in Information & Communication Technology enables data scientists to analyze big data for identifying peoples' daily lives and tacit preferences. A variety of industries already aware the potential usefulness of analyzing big data. However limited use of big data has been performed in game industry. In this research, we adopt data mining technique to analyze data gathered from a strategic simulation game. Decision Tree, Random Forest, Multi-class SVM, and Linear Regression techniques are used to find the most important variables to users' game levels. We provide practical guides for game design and usability based on the analyzed results.

  • In this research, a VR game was developed to experience the fire evacuation from a fired building, intending calm and fast reaction in urgent fire situations. The user should move out through the fire door, stairs and corridors toward exit door using the VIVE controllers. When the user can't proceed the path because of fire flame or smoke, he/she should turn back to find another path. A building of Hoseo university was modeled and tests were carried out by students with polls focused on the usability and the effectiveness of this VR game. The result has been analyzed to show their responses.

  • Game software is tremendous popularity in inside and outside of the country, so it rises market value. Therefore, it is important to study for the evaluation models of game software. In a general way, I think that ISO/IEC 9126 is the international standard of the software quality testing. Especially, game software quality has been more important on users and developers, so we need the compliance testing model of the game software. In this paper, we evaluate the game software quality objectively and quantitatively, we propose the software quality metrics of testing. Also, we propose the evaluation model of game software on the basis of international standard ISO/IEC 9126, six quality characteristic point of view. That is functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, portability, and maintainability.

  • As a result of growth sensor-enabled mobile devices such as PDA, cellular phone and other computing devices, in recent years, users can utilize the diverse digital contents everywhere and anytime. However, the interfaces of mobile applications are often unnatural due to limited resources and miniaturized input/output. Especially, users may feel this problem in some applications such as the mobile game. Therefore, Novel interaction forms have been developed in order to complement the poor user interface of the mobile device and to increase the interest for the mobile game. In this paper, we describe the demonstration of the gesture and posture input supported by an accelerometer. The application example we created are AM-Fishing game on the mobile device that employs the accelerometer as the main interaction modality. The demos show the usability for the gesture and posture interaction.

  • In the prior works on tabletop systems, a projection-based tabletop surface is mostly used to display computer images, and the participants interact with the display surface by hand multi-touching or using some tangible objects. In this research, however, we developed the FishBowl game that employs a scalable tabletop tiled display with infrared camera tracking coupled with PDA mobile interfaces. The focus of this game is to enhance user interactivity and realistic experience by coupling the high-resolution tabletop virtual environment and PDA mobile interface. This paper describes the game design followed by the system design and its detailed implementations. It also discusses the system usability and recommendation for its improvements after interviewing game players and then concludes with future research directions.

  • Educational games offer an opportunity to engage and inspire students to take an interest in every subject material in school. The "fun" obtain when playing games become a trigger for the use of games in learning. However, there are doubts whether the players actually learn while they are having fun. Vidyanusa is an Online Mathematics Education Game being developed by Crayonpedia Education Ecosystem in Indonesia. The learning goal of Vidyanusa is to engage junior high school students in learning mathematics. In this paper, we design the Vidyanusa game material Functions and Relations by using Balanced Design Approach. This approach has three models in succession; the Content Model outlines the purpose of the game, the Task Model maps out the mission, and the Evidence Model outlines student measurement. This paper will then discusses the quality of games produced in term of Usability factor for effective results and objective. The measurement of the game was carried out based on International Standard ISO/IEC 9126-1 FDIS about Software Quality Product.

  • The computer game has a narrative structure, which scenario is proceeded by player's consecutive interactive. The interaction is the core of game plays that is not only storytelling in itself, but also is implemented by interface. The UI of computer game is as a tool for communication between player and game, which has been designed by usability on use. However, is it the necessary for us to get synchronization of feelings about game scenario in terms of a psychological in order to deepen the pleasure that is the game's ultimate goal. Effectively, as a way to lead in this empathy. This study tries to application of storytelling to the UI that occurred player's interactive for the first time. Moreover, presented the result as the UI designs of casual MMORPG.

  • With the development of the Internet environment, various types of online reviews are being generated and exchanged among consumers to share their opinions. In line with this trend, companies are making efforts to analyze online reviews and use the results in various business activities such as marketing, sales, and product development. However, research on online review in industry related to 'Video Game' which is representative experience goods has not been performed enough. Therefore, this study analyzed STEAM community review data using machine learning techniques. We analyzed the factors affecting the opinion of other users' game review. We also propose managerial implications to incease user loyalty and usability.

  • A tangible sports game is an exercise game that uses sensors or cameras to track the user's body movements and to feel a sense of reality. Recently, VR indoor sports room systems installed to utilize tangible sports game for physical activity in schools. However, these systems primarily use screen-touch user interaction. In this research, we developed a V-Catch Vision system that uses AI image recognition technology to enable tracking of user movements in three-dimensional space rather than two-dimensional wall touch interaction. We also conducted a usability evaluation experiment to investigate the exercise effects of this system. We tried to evaluate quantitative exercise effects by measuring blood oxygen saturation level, the real-time ECG heart rate variability, and user body movement and angle change of Kinect skeleton. The experiment result showed that there was a statistically significant increase in heart rate and an increase in the amount of body movement when using the V-Catch Vision system. In the subjective evaluation, most subjects found the exercise using this system fun and satisfactory.
