  • Neural network is a very exciting and generic framework to develop almost all ranges of machine learning technologies and its potential is far beyond its current capabilities. Among other characteristics, neural network acts as associative memory obtained from the values structurally stored in synaptic inherent structure. Due to innate complexity of neural networks system, in its practical implementation and maintenance, multifaceted problems are known to be unavoidable. In this paper, we present design and implementation details of GUI software which can be valuable tool to maintain and develop neural networks. It has capability of displaying every state of synaptic weights with network nodal relation in each learning step.

  • 본 논문은 GUI(Graphical User interface) 환경에서 MPGE-1 영상 편집을 위한 시스템 도구(Tool)를 기술한다. 기존에 출시된 제품은 일반적으로 AVI 나 MOV 포맷(format)을 사용하는데 비하여 본 논문에서는 MPGE-1을 압축 영역 상태에서 편집함으로써 영상의 품질과 저장의 효율성 및 처리속도에 많은 이점을 두었다. 편집 작업은 Random Access 의 기본 단위가 되는 GOP(Group of Picture) 단위의 경계 편집을 사용하여 영상 편집 기능인 Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo등을 기술하였다. 또한 효율적인 편집 환경을 위해 편집 윈도우 형태를 클립 청, 클립 정보 창, 편집 창, 재생 창, 미리 보기 창으로 구분하였다. 편집된 영상은 효율적 재생을 위하여 DirectDraw을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 소개한 편집 시스템은 GUI 기반으로 사용자에게 익숙한 사용자 인터페이스 환경을 기술하였다.

  • Effect analysis tool for space infrastructure has a role to give essential information which is needed to perform research systematically as effect analysis for satellites on earth orbit due to solar burst and statistical analysis for deriving key factor which is occurred anomalies to satellite. And retrieval function which is able to search domestic and foreign research data such as paper, report, journal and book related to satellite anomaly is also included. So this tool will be provided research environment for effect analysis from space environment to space infrastructure of earth orbit satellite. In this paper, it is shown design result for effect analysis for space infrastructure including DB design.

  • In this study, a static and dynamic characteristics analysis system for machine tool spindle systems with 3 lobe sliding bearing is developed based on Timoshenko theory, finite element method and windows programming techniques. And the characteristics value of 3 lobe sliding bearing such as eccentricity ratio, attitude angle, friction coefficient , stiffness coefficients, damping coefficients and so on, are determined by using the thermal equilibrium conditions of spindle systems. Since the developed system has various analysis modules related to static deformation analysis, modal analysis, frequency responses analysis and so on, it can be utilized to perform systematically the design an devaluation process of spindle systems with 3 lobe sliding bearing under windows GUI environment.

In this paper, we propose the web application development tool based on XForms that is standard that can come up with solution problems of existing web program. This tool applied concept and specification of XForms to development environment. And it can efficiently implement X-internet.

  • The currently and most widely used client/server architecture is composed of database servers and clients that include both application and presentation logic. To date, due to the rapid growth in WWW, these client/server applications are implemented using Java language, especially in GUI design at client sides and client/server applications development using JDBC. To develop the applications using JDBC, developers should design database schema, code source code for JDBC connection, design report forms to display selected columns from server-side database. In this paper, we propose a development environment based on JavaBeans component for client/server applications development using JDBC. The proposed environment minimizes manual coding and enables developers to develop client/server applications easily with the designed JavaBeans components and their custom property editor.

  • This paper is about an authoring interface for augmented/mixed reality based book, specifically authoring 3D objects properties of Digilog book. We pursue even normal users with non-professional knowledge for programming can make the Digilog book easily. An authoring interface 3D object properties includes a manipulator as an input device and 3D contents authoring parts. As an interface design metaphor, existing GUI interface, already familiar to computer users, are referenced. The manipulator generates continuous/discrete input signal are necessary for authoring interface. Contents authoring part performs selection, positioning, scaling, coloring, copy of virtual objects using the input signal of the manipulator. Also users can exploit already existing GUI interface metaphor including pointing, click, drag and drop, and copy techniques with the manipulator. Therefore we think our AR authoring system can support rapid and intuitive modification of properties of virtual objects.

  • The CAD system for design and drawing of limit gauges was constructed and developed. This system was made by Visual Basic program. Using this system, drawings together with concerned data for the manufacturing of limit gauges are generated on the screen, file and printer. The data base was constructed by referring handbooks, textbooks, relevant standards and regulations. This system was proved a powerful tool for design and drawing of limit gauges by actual applications. The output drawings from this system are in good agreement with the drawings and data of the concerned standards and regulations.

  • 본 논문에서는 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)을 사용하는 VoIP(Voice over IP) 네트워크에서 SIP 트래픽을 감시, 분석하는 관리 도구인 SIPMan 을 설계하고 구현하는 연구를 소개한다. 구현하는 SIPMan 은 실시간으로 SIP 패킷을 캡처하여 call 에 대한 다양한 정보를 분석하여 DB 에 저장할 수도 있다. VoIP 망 관리자는 SIPM무의 web GUI를 사용하여 call detail record, SIP 트래픽 정보 등을 모니터링말 수 있다.

A Study of Usability Evaluation and Improvement of Weapon System Display GUI Using Performance Model (Performance Model을 이용한 무기체계 운용화면 GUI 사용성 평가 및 개선에 대한 연구)

  • The recent development of modern weapon system by SOS (System of System) has required users to have more exact decision making. It is possible to achieve the control of complex weapon system more efficiently and effectively by increasing usability. Accordingly, many studies on graphical display have been conducted for several years in the field of HCI (Human Computer Interaction) and GUI (Graphic User Interface), starting from its design stage. Therefore, this paper focuses on evaluating the system GUI usability and analyzing several important points based on performance model, which is a tool for the evaluation and the improvement of service quality. Performance Model, the main focus of this study, reflects user expectations (which is defined as user importance in this paper). The study consists of four steps. First, 34 checklists are drawn from the existing studies related to GUI usability evaluation by using a heuristic method, and then the checklists are matched with 11 weapon system design factors. Next, the study evaluates the importance of GUI element and the usability of weapon system "A" with the checklists twice respectively. Third, the performance of user importance ($P_i$) and the performance of usability ($P_u$) are calculated by modifying a numerical formula for normalization in this step. Finally, the study compares the approach it takes and the existing usability evaluation method, demonstrating that there is a significant difference between the two methods as a result. In addition, 4 improvement factors are suggested for weapon system "A" as "Shortcut" and "Description of Abbreviation," and so on. Although it is necessary to conduct more studies for higher reliability and validity of the results, this study is meaningful considering it takes a new point of view.
