Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) gravimeter satellites observed the Earth gravity field with unprecedented accuracy since 2002. After the termination of GRACE mission, GRACE Follow-on (GFO) satellites successively observe global gravity field, but there is missing period between GRACE and GFO about one year. Many previous studies estimated terrestrial water storage (TWS) changes using hydrological models, vertical displacements from global navigation satellite system observations, altimetry, and satellite laser ranging for a continuity of GRACE and GFO data. Recently, in order to predict TWS changes, various machine learning methods are developed such as artificial neural network and multi-linear regression. Previous studies used hydrological and climate data simultaneously as input data of the learning process. Further, they excluded linear trends in input data and GRACE/GFO data because the trend components obtained from GRACE/GFO data were assumed to be the same for other periods. However, hydrological models include high uncertainties, and observational period of GRACE/GFO is not long enough to estimate reliable TWS trends. In this study, we used convolutional neural networks (CNN) method incorporating only climate data set (temperature, evaporation, and precipitation) to predict TWS variations in the missing period of GRACE/GFO. We also make CNN model learn the linear trend of GRACE/GFO data. In most river basins considered in this study, our CNN model successfully predicts seasonal and long-term variations of TWS change.

2002년 3월에 발사 된 GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment)는 미국과 독일 합작으로 개발된 최초의 지구중력장 측정 전용 위성으로 동일한 궤도를 비행하는 두 개의 위성 사이 거리 변화를 측정하여 지구 중력장을 추정하는 사업이다. 위성 발사 후 이전 보다 수 십배 정확한 지구중력장 모델을 생성하였으며, 지구중력장 변화도 30일마다 추정하고 있다. GRACE 위성의 핵심 관측기인 위성간 거리 측정기의 원리에 대해 소개하고, 운용 결과 및 성능에 대해 소개 하였다. 발사 전 성능 분석 단계에서 고려되지 못했던 거리측정기 오차 요인에 대해 분석하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시 하였다.

GRACE는 2002년 발사된 이래로 지하수, 빙하, 해수면의 변동에 의한 지구의 질량 재배치를 관측해오고 있다. GRACE 관측으로부터 추정된 지구 중력 모델은 기압보정을 거쳐 대기 질량이 제거된 지구 표면과 그 하부의 질량 변화를 나타낸다. 그러나 대기 총 질량은 지표면과 대기 사이의 물 교환에 의해 변한다. 그 결과 GRACE 중력 모델은 구면 조화 함수의 계수 degree 0, order 0 ($C_{00}$)에 해당하는 총 대기 질량 변화에 관련된 중력 스펙트럼을 가져야 한다. 주로 계절적인 시간 척도 안에서 변하는 수증기 때문에 $C_{00}$의 변화(${\delta}C_{00}$)는 특히 해수면의 계절적 변동과 북반구와 남반구 사이의 질량 균형에 매우 중요하다. 이 결과는 ${\delta}C_{00}$가 기후변동과 관련된 대륙 규모의 질량 변화 연구에 꼭 고려되어야 함을 뜻한다.

지구 중력장의 경년변화 관측을 통한 전 지구 차원에서의 대규모 질량이동 및 그 변화에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 진행되고 있다. 여기에는 지구의 편평 정도를 나타내는 $J_2$(또는 지구 중력장모델의 $C_{20}$)에 대한 연구도 포함되며, 최근에는 GRACE를 비롯한 위성중력기술의 개발로 기존의 SLR 등 우주관측기술의 관측결과와 비교분석을 수행할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 2002년 4월부터 2008년 5월사이의 GRACE 월별 중력장모델(CSR RL04)을 이용하여 저차항 중력장 구면조화 계수 $C_{20}$의 시계열 변화를 구하고 SLR 관측 자료로부터 얻어진 $C_{20}$ 값과 비교분석을 수행하였다.시계열 데이터의 분석에는 웨이블릿 변환 신호분석기법을 사용하였으며,구체적으로 연속 웨이블릿 변환,직교 웨이블릿 변환 및 웨이블릿 상관간계 분석을 수행하였다.분석 결과, GRACE와 SLR의 $C_{20}$ 결과는 모두 감소하는 추세를 나타내었으며, 1년 주기를 나타내는 SLR과는 달리 GRACE는 반년 주기에서 더욱 높은 강도를 보였다.또한,GRACE는SLR와의 직교 웨이블릿 스펙트럼 및 상관관계 분석에서도1년 주기에서 매우 강한 상관관계를 보여주었다.

지구 온난화에 따른 기후 변화, 강수량, 강우 강도, 빈도 그리고 강우 유형의 변화는 지하수 함양과 지하수위 변동에 큰 영향을 미친다. 전 세계적인 총 저수량 변화를 파악하는데, GRACE의 월 중력값 이용되어지고 있다. 그러나 지하수위의 공간적인 분포를 표현하기가 쉽지 않으므로, GRACE자료와 지하수위 자료를 정량적으로 연관시키기는 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 세 가지 국지적인 보간법(크리깅, 역 거리 가중값 및 자연 인접)을 이용하여 2002년부터 2016년 까지 국내 지하수 함양 변화량의 공간적인 분포를 추정하였다. 그리고 추정된 월평균 지하수 함양 변화량과 GRACE의 월별 지하수 저장량 변화값을 비교하였다. GRACE자료와 실측 지하수자료의 함양량 변동값은 미약하지만 시간이 경과할수록 감소추세를 보이고 있으며, 연구기간 동안에 지하수 함양 변화량의 평균값은 -0.01 cm/month, 중앙값은 -0.02 cm/month로 산정되었다.

In "A Good Man Is Hard to Find," Flannery O'Connor describes a striking journey of a family, in which all the members dramatically get killed. Through the tragic death of Bailey's family, O'Connor evokes the reader to think about life and the life after death. Growing up in the communities of Catholicism and Protestantism, O'Connor herself had agonized with the same question between the two types of Christian belief throughout her life. In the story, O'Connor embodies her anguish with the major characters and questions the reader about the meaning of Christian salvation. More specifically, Bailey's family represent the people who get lost in life. They live without any direction and purpose. Red Sammy and his wife, on the other hand, provide travellers with rest, food, and the necessaries. The Tower is a shelter of travellers in life; however, it is not everlasting but temporary. The Misfit, exemplifying religious stragglers, has been completely frustrated with the variance of Christian salvation theories, and no longer practices the religion but knows enough to justify his cruel behaviors. Finally, the grandmother is the manipulator and opportunist of the religion. All those characters are fragments of human characters and their life - obscene and transitory. In the story, there is little God's grace on the surface even though the writer claims "all my stories are about the action of grace." Nonetheless, the reader should be able to identify with those characters because they are the mirror images of themselves. While visualizing the characters, O'Connor wants the reader to have a moment to think about the "Righteousness," and ultimately to seek out God's grace that she essentially wishes to show the reader. Instead of showing God's grace directly, O'Connor ultimately leads the reader to consider about God and the grace as she/he reads the work.

Lipofilling is a reconstructive and aesthetic technique that has recently grown in popularity and is increasingly being used in breast surgery. Previous concerns had been raised regarding its safety when used for remodelling and reconstruction of the breast; however, these concerns have since been dismissed. Over the subsequent two decades, little evidence has been found to support these early theoretical concerns, and growing numbers of proponents of the procedure are confident in its safety. Many developments and refinements in the technique have taken place in recent years, and several studies have been published regarding the safety of lipofilling in the breast. We reviewed the current literature regarding the use of different lipofilling techniques as well as the current evidence regarding the oncological safety of the procedure in patients seeking aesthetic breast enhancement and in patients requiring reconstruction after treatment for breast cancer.
