가상 세계 매핑기법을 이용한 비디오 GIS (Video GIS using Virtual World Mapping Technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 데이터베이스와 4S-Van에서 획득된 GPS 관련 데이터를 이용하여 사용자에게 비디오내의 지리 객체들의 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있는 미디어 GIS 시스템 구조를 제안한다. 비디오내의 지리객체에 대한 지리정보 서비스를 위해 실세계 비디오와 3차원 그래픽 세계를 매핑할 수 있는 가상세계 매핑(VWM)이라는 새로운 상호 운용적인 지리데이터 서비스 개념을 소개한다. 제안한 기법은 임의의 비디오 프레임에 대한 3차원 가상공간을 재구성하여 지리정보 및 속성정보를 쉽게 검색해 낼 수 있다. 또한, 2차원, 3차원, 미디어 데이터간의 상호연계 및 운용기능을 제공함으로써 기존의 지리정보 시스템 분야의 새로운 패러다임을 제시한다. 제안하는 시스템은 별도의 이미지 처리과정 없이도 비디오 스트림을 통해 지리정보를 제공할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 제안하는 기법으로 비디오 영상을 스트리밍하면서 클라이언트가 지리 정보서비스를 받을 수 있는 GeoVideo 서버 및 웹을 통해 서비스를 제공하는 GeoVideo 클라이언트 시스템을 구현하였다.

Development of Roadside Facility Management System with Video GIS Technology

  • In this paper, we suggest a new spatial information system called video GIS where video is used for spatial data construction and is integrated with map. We develop a prototype system of video GIS and apply it to roadside facility management. The main functions supported by the suggested system are data collection, coordinate calculation and conversion, data construction, analysis, searching, and browsing. The stereo images and corresponding position data are collected by a vehicle named 4S-Van that has GPS, IMU, and cameras. The 3-D coordinates of the objects in the images, such as road sign, signal lamp, and building, can be calculated and constructed from the collected data. The spatial objects are displayed on both image and map, and can be searched and browsed, which enables visual and realistic browsing and management of spatial objects. Compared to conventional field survey used in roadside facility management, the method enables faster, easier, and more efficient construction of spatial data. The suggested video GIS can be applied not only to roadside facility management but also to many similar projects of central or local governments that are related to GIS.

A Generation Method of Spatially Encoded Video Data for Geographic Information Systems

  • In this paper, we present a method for generating and providing spatially encoded video data that can be effectively used by GIS applications. We collect the video data by a mobile mapping system called 4S-Van that is equipped by GPS, INS, CCD camera, and DVR system. The information about spatial object appearing in video, such as occupied region in each frame, attribute value, and geo-coordinate, are generated and encoded. We suggest methods that can generate such data for each frame in semi-automatic manner. We adopt standard MPEG-7 metadata format for representation of the spatially encoded video data to be generally used by GIS application. The spatial and attribute information encoded to each video frame can make visual browsing between map and video possible. The generated video data can be provided and applied to various GIS applications where location and visual data are both important.

  • The West-East Nature Gas Pipeline is a great project in China. Advanced remote sensing technology combined with GIS and GPS is used to select the favorable plan from various possible routes through interpreting the information of topographic landform, regional geology, disaster geology, traffic conditions and nature environment from remote sensing images. There are a lot of changes in geographical and environmental factors along such pipelines due to the rapid development in China. Image maps produced from new satellite data can identify these changes and be used successfully not only on route-selection studies but also on in situ investigation, together with GPS. Results from detail analysis provide necessary information and parameters for plan, design and construction of the pipeline and they are also the basic data for the pipeline database. The set of techniques has been applied on planning and designing several pipelines successfully.

  • In recent years there has been considerable interest in the construction of super high-rise buildings. From the prior art, various procedures and devices for surveys during and after the phase of erection of a high-rise building are known. High-rise buildings are subject to strong external tilt effects caused, for instance, by wind pressures, unilateral thermal effects by exposure to sunlight, and unilateral loads. Such effects are a particular challenge in the phase of construction of a high-rise building, in as much as the high-rise building under construction is also subject to tilt effects, and will at least temporarily lose its - as a rule exactly vertical - alignment. Yet construction should progress in such a way that the building is aligned as planned, and particularly so in the vertical, when returning into an un-tilted basic state.It is essential that a straight element be constructed that theoretically, even when moving around its design centre point due to varying loads, would have an exactly vertical alignment when all biasing conditions are neutralised. Because of differential raft settlement, differential concrete shortening, and construction tolerances, this ideal situation will rarely be achieved. This paper describes a procedure developed by the authors using GPS observations combined with a network of precision inclination sensor to provide reliable coordinated points at the top of the worldwide highest-rise building under construction in Dubai.

모형 선박을 이용한 선박 침로유지 실험 연구 (Experiment on Track-keeping Performance using Free Running Model Ship)

  • 본 연구는 미리 지정된 항로를 따라 항해하기 위한 선박의 Track-keeping에 대한 기초 실험 연구 분석결과를 제시하였다. 항로상에 위치한 여러 가지 변침점을 설정하고, 해당 선박이 그 항로를 항해하도록 알고리즘을 구성, 모형선을 이용한 실험 결과를 보여주었다. 지정된 구역에서 GPS로 변침점을 설정하고, 그 포인트를 Data화하여, 미리 프로그램된 알고리즘에 입력하면 해당 선박이 자동으로 항로를 항해하도록 설계되었다. PD 제어를 이용하여 침로 유지 알고리즘을 구성하였고, 선박 자동 Track-keeping 결과는 모니터링 가능토록 하였고, 변수를 설정 변경하도록 설계되었다. 제시된 알고리즘은 실험을 통하여 그 알고리즘의 효용성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 실선의 항해 자동화 및 충돌회피, 자동접안 등의 다양한 분야에 응용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this paper, we propose Media GIS web service architecture using 3D geographical database and GPS-related data resulted from 4S-Van. We introduce a novel interoperable geographical data service concept; so-called, Virtual World Mapping (VWM) that can map 3D graphic world with real-world video. Our proposed method can easily retrieve geographical in-formation and attributes to reconstruct 3D virtual space according to certain frame in video sequences. Our proposed system architecture also has an advantage that can provide geographical information service with video stream without any image processing procedures. In addition to, describing the details of our components, we present a Media GIS web service system by using GeoVideo Server, which performs VWM technique.

공간정보에 기반한 도로 데이터 자동생성 방법 (Automatic Generation Method of Road Data based on Spatial Information)

  • 효율적인 도로정보의 구축은 GIS에서 가장 중요한 주제이다. 본 논문에서는 도로정보를 자동으로 생성, 구축하기 위하여 모바일 매핑 기술과 영상인식 기술을 결합한 방법을 제안하였다. 모바일 매핑 시스템은 CCD 카메라, GPS, INS를 장착한 차량의 형태를 가지며, 취득한 영상에 나타난 공간객체의 좌표를 사진측량기법을 이용하여 계산한다. 모바일 매핑 시스템에 의한 공간객체 좌표추출과 데이터 구축은 자동화되지 않아 시간이 많이 드는 단점이 있다. 도로의 자동 인식은 영상인식 분야에서도 자동주행차량에 대한 연구의 형태로 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 영상인식에 기반한 방법들은 도로 차선에 적용할 경우 차선의 끊김 차량에 의한 가려짐 좋지 않은 날씨와 조명 등 실제의 도로나 도로변의 다양한 예외상황 때문에 원하는 결과를 얻기 힘든 경우가 많다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 모바일 매핑 시스템으로부터 획득된 GPS/INS 데이터 및 영상인식 기술을 모두 이용한 자동 도로데이터 생성방법을 제안하였다. 영상에 나타난 도로 차선의 3차원좌표로부터 영상에서 객체가 나타날 위치를 추정하기 위한 방법을 고안하였으며, 이러한 방법은 도로 차선을 찾기 위한 복잡한 영상처리 과정을 대폭 줄일 수 있다. 예외상황 때문에 도로차선을 추출하지 못한 경우에는 스플라인 인터폴레이션에 의하여 값을 얻는다. 인터폴레이션은 교차로나 급격한 변화 지점에 따라 구분된 도로 구간 단위로 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 객체좌표 추정방법과 인터폴레이션 기법에 대한 실험 및 결과를 제시하였다.

도로교통안전점검차량을 이용한 도로의 자동도면화 생성 연구 (The Study on an Automated Generation Method of Road Drawings using Road Survey Vehicle)

  • PURPOSES : This study is to develop a automate road mapping system using ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) for road management. METHODS : The road survey van named ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) was used to generate highway drawings for Korea National Road number 37 automatically. In order to generate the highway drawings for purpose of road management, it is required to acquired the information for highway alignment, road width and road facilities such as safety barrier and road sign. Therefore the survey van acquired and analyzed the road width, median and guardrail data using rear side laser sensor of ARASEO and recognized the traffic control sign and chevron sign using foreside camera images. Also the highway alignment which is the basic information for highway drawing can be analyzed by acquisition the every 1m positional and attitude data using GPU and IMU sensor and developed algorithm. Finally, in this research the CAD based drawing software was developed to draw highway drawing using the analysis result from ARASEO. RESULTS : This study showed the comparison result of the surveyed road width and drawing data. To make the drawing of the road, we made the Autocad ARX program witch run in CAD menu interface. CONCLUSIONS : Using this program we can create the road center line, every 500m horizontal and vertical ground plan drawing automatically.
