The BeiDou is a satellite-based positioning and navigation system, which is under construction by the China Satellite Navigation Office. Until the June of 2014, the constellation of BeiDou navigation satellite system consists of 14 satellites including five geostationary earth orbit (GEO), five inclined geosynchronous earth orbit (IGSO) and four medium earth orbit (MEO). In this paper, we present the positioning results using BeiDou B1 code measurements obtained from three GNSS reference stations (BHAO, SKMA, MKPO). Combined Beidou/GPS positioning results are also compared to BeiDou and GPS only. BeiDou-only positioning errors for the east-west and north-south direction had less than 2 meter with root mean square (RMS) value. However, the positioning error for the up-down direction had larger than 10 meter at a 95% confidence level. Our results also suggest that the position precision is improved by combined BeiDou/GPS compared to BeiDou-only.

GPS service is generally being used in the navigation application such as the car navigation and the smart phone. Recently, GPS service continues to increase in the timing application such as the mobile telecommunication network, the smart grid, and the financial network. As GPS signals are sensitive to GPS jamming, it should be monitored and protected. In oder to prevent and minimize the damage caused by GPS jamming, many countries are developing and operating GPS jamming monitoring system. This paper presents the implementation and the test results of the GPS jamming equipment which provides the detection, the direction finding and the location of GPS jamming.

This paper describes a GPS signal generator that can generate multiple satellite signals in real time at the RF level. It realizes the verified software algorithm on a FPGA. The algorithm models orbits and environmental errors such as ionospheric and tropospheric multipath. The position of a simulated receiver is one of simulation parameters. The hardware which consists of a digital logic board and an analog board can generate 16 simulated satellites signals at the same time. The users can generate spoofing signals and jamming signals as well as satellite signals by using the windows-based control software. In addition, the software provides GIS-based simulation scenarios editing tools. We verified the generator by using commercial receivers. As an application, we configured generators as indoor positioning systems and tested them in a building. To improve the accuracy of indoor systems is our further study.
A Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) provides differential correction and integrity information through geostationary satellite to users in order to reduce Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-related errors such as ionospheric delay and tropospheric delay, and satellite orbit and clock errors and calculate a protection level of the calculated location. A SBAS is a system, which has been set as an international standard by the International Civilian Aviation Organization (ICAO) to be utilized for safe operation of aircrafts. Currently, the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) in the USA, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) in Europe, MTSAT Satellite Augmentation System (MSAS) in Japan, and GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) are operated. The System for Differential Correction and Monitoring (SDCM) in Russia is now under construction and testing. All SBASs that are currently under operation including the WAAS in the USA provide correction and integrity information about the Global Positioning System (GPS) whereas the SDCM in Russia that started SBAS-related test services in Russia in recent years provides correction and integrity information about not only the GPS but also the GLONASS. Currently, LUCH-5A(PRN 140), LUCH-5B(PRN 125), and LUCH-5V(PRN 141) are assigned and used as geostationary satellites for the SDCM. Among them, PRN 140 satellite is now broadcasting SBAS test messages for SDCM test services. In particular, since messages broadcast by PRN 140 satellite are received in Korea as well, performance analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS using the SDCM can be possible. The present paper generated correction and integrity information about GPS and GLONASS using SDCM messages broadcast by the PRN 140 satellite, and performed analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS performance and APV-I availability by applying GPS and GLONASS observation data received from multiple reference stations, which were operated in the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) for performance analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS according to user locations inside South Korea utilizing the above-calculated information.
Quick evaluations of two in-plane orbit maneuvers using small see of real-time CPS navigation solutions were peformed lot the KOMPSAT-1 spacecraft operation. Real-time GPS navigation solutions of the KOMPSAT-1 were collected during the Korean Ground Station(KGS) pass. Only a few sets of position and velocity data after completion of the thruster firing were used for the quick maneuver evaluations. The results were used for antenna pointing data predictions for the next station contact. Normal orbit maneuver evaluations using large see of playback GPS navigation solutions were also performed and the result were compared with the quick evaluation results.

The GPS satellite has three or four atomic clocks that consist of cesiums and rubidiums and the NANU messages can be used to identify the kind of the onboard atomic clock because they classify the clock type on a daily basis. In this study, for long-term analysis of the GPS satellite clock behavior, we extracted satellite clock errors for every PRN from years 2001 through 2009 using the SP3 files that are provided by the IGS. As a result, the cesium clock offsets usually have a linear trend of drifting. On the other hand, rubidium offsets show curvilinear variations in general, even though they cannot be represented as anyone specific polynomial function. For short-term analysis, we extracted satellite clock errors for each PRN for a week-long period using the CLK files that are also provided by the IGS and curve-fitted them with first-order and second-order polynomial functions. In cases of cesium clock errors, they were well-represented by first-order polynomial functions and rubidium clock errors were similar with second-order polynomials. However, some of rubidium clock errors could not be represented as any polynomial fitting function. To analyze the characteristic of GPS satellite by each block and atomic clock, we applied Modified Allan Deviation criterion to the dataset from years 2007 and 2010. We found that the Modified Allan Deviation characteristics changed significantly according the block and atomic clock type.

After USA removed the Selective Availability (SA), Global Positioning System (GPS) has monopolized the world market and other countries have been depended on GPS, absolutely. So the other countries, Russia, European Community (EC) and Japan, which apprehend to monopolize in technical and strategic parts, are developing the next generation GNSS including GLONASS Galileo and JRANS. And the countries are planning to provide the another GNSS. This research has focused on the next generation GNSS system based on GPS and Galileo system with developing a GNSS simulation software, named as GlMS2005, which generates and analyzes satellite constellation and measurements. Based on the software, a variety of simulation tests have been carried out to recognize limits of GPS-only system and potential benefits of integrated GPS/Galileo positioning in terms of satellite geometry strength and solution accuracy.

Satellite navigation system such as GPS is becoming more important infrastructure for positioning, navigation and timing. But satellite navigation system is vulnerable to interferences because of the low received power, complementary navigation system such as eLoran is needed. In order to develop eLoran/GPS navigation system, integrated eLoran/GPS navigation algorithm is necessary. In this paper, new integrated eLoran/GPS navigation algorithm is proposed. It combines the position domain integration and the range domain integration to get accurate position with less computational burden. Also an eLoran/GPS evaluation platform is designed and performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm using the evaluation platform is given. The proposed algorithm gives an accuracy of the range domain integration with a computational load of the position domain integration.
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning has been widely used in geodesy, surveying, and navigation fields. RTK can benefit enormously from the integration of multi-GNSS. In this study, we develop a GPS/BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) RTK integration algorithm for long baselines ranging from 128 km to 335 km in South Korea. The positioning performance with GPS/BDS RTK, GPS-only RTK, and BDS-only RTK is compared in terms of the positioning accuracy. An improvement of positioning accuracy over long baselines can be found with GPS/BDS RTK compared with that of GPS-only RTK and that of BDS-only RTK. The positioning accuracy of GPS/BDS RTK is better than 2 cm in the horizontal direction and better than 5 cm in the vertical direction. A lower Relative Dilution of Precision (RDOP) value with GPS/BDS integration can obtain a better positional precision for long baseline RTK positioning.

In this paper, I design a linear array antenna simulator for anti-jamming GPS systems and perform various performance analysis by simulation. First, I generate simulated transmission signals through the analysis of GPS satellite signal structure, and analyze SNR(Signal to Noise power Ratio) performance of linear array antenna according to number of arrays under noise environments. In addition, I analyze the performance of the anti-jamming beam pattern using MMSE(Minimum Mean Square Error) signal processing method, and also analyze the anti-jamming performance considering antenna calibration problem when there are different delays between arrays.
