  • In order to carry out aerial photogrammetry using GPS/INS, it is necessary to apply exterior orientation parameters, obtained while making a photo, to the editing process. It should be noted that the verification process of aerial mapping result is the most crucial process at the GPS/INS based digital photogrammetry. To this end, this study has compared the mapping result by the ways of AT results, plotter, and orientation, which is from basis of the Analytical raw map produced by the existing AT results. When comparing the horizontal and vertical accuracy of the analytical mapping with that of digital restitution, it could be found that the latter is more accurate than that of the former. In addition, it was reveled that the horizontal error was bigger than that of vertical one. Even though the accuracy of the GPS/INS based AT Direct orientation was three times poorer than the of indirect one, it was recognized that the photogrammetry process was effectively performed in the application of scale 1:5000 mapping with satisfying the allowance errors.

  • In order to meet the users' demand, who needs faster and more accurate data in geographic information, it is necessary to obtain and process the data more effectively. Now more effective data obtainments about geographic information is possible through the development of integration technology, which is applied to the field of geographic information, as well as through the development of hardware and software engineering. With the fast and precise correction and update, the development of integrate technology can bring the reduction of the time and money. To obtain fast and precise geographic information using Aerial Photogrammetry method, it is necessary to develop Airborne GPS/INS integration system, which makes GCP to the minimum. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a system which could unite and process both GPS and INS data. For this matter, code-processing module for DGPS and OTF initializaion module, which can decide integer ambiguity even in motion, have been developed. And also, continuous kinematic carrier-processing module has been developed to calculate the location at the moment of filming. In addition, this study suggests a possibility of using a module, which can unite GPS and INS, using Kalman filtering, and also shows the INS navigation theory.

  • More than ten years after the era of GPS-Photogrammetry which could provide us only three projection center of all six exterior orientation parameters, direct georeferencing with GPS/INS is now becoming a standard method for image orientation. Its main advantage is to skip or reduce the indirect ground control process. This paper describes the experimental test results of integrated sensor orientation with a commercial GPS/IMU system to approve its performance in determination of exterior orientation. For this purpose two different imaging blocks were planned and the area was photographed at a large photo scale of 1:5,000 and a medium photo scale of 1:20,000. From these data set a variety of meaningful results was acquired, i.e., the accuracy. potential of exterior orientation from direct georeferencing and combined block adjustment using these data considering different photo scales and conditions.

  • Photogrammetry is one of the most important sources of GIS application. Nowadays, color photos are used and camera is integrated with GPS/INS sensors. However the photos are still taken from analogue camera and scanned for digital image. For the convenient and accurate image application especially for 3D, airborne digital camera images is essential. In this paper, digital image calibration process with GPS/INS and its accuracy evaluation was presented.

  • The most recent, Digital photogrammetric camera, Airborne LiDAR and GPS/INS same sensors are used to acquire spatial information of various kinds in the field of aerial survey. In addition, Direct Georeferencing technology has been widely utilized with digital photogrammetric camera and GPS/INS. However, the sensor Calibration to be performed according to the combination of various sensors is followed by problems. Most of all, boresight calibration of integrated sensors is a critical element in the mapping process when using direct georeferencing or using the GPS/INS aerotriangulation. The establishment of a national test-bed in Sejong-si for aerial sensor calibration is absolutely necessary to solve this problem. And accurate calibration with used to integration of GPS/INS by aerotriangulation of aerial imagery was necessary for determination of system parameters, evaluation of systematic errors. Also, an investigation of efficient method for Direct georeferencing to determine the exterior orientation parameters and assessment of geometric accuracy of integrated sensors are performed.

  • This paper addresses solutions to the challenges of carrier phase integer ambiguity resolution and cycle slip detection/identification, for maintaining high accuracy of an integrated GPS/Pseudolite/INS system. Such a hybrid positioning and navigation system is an augmentation of standard GPS/INS systems in localized areas. To achieve the goal of high accuracy, the carrier phase measurements with correctly estimated integer ambiguities must be utilized to update the system integration filter's states. The occurrence of a cycle slip that is undetected is, however, can significantly degrade the filter's performance. This contribution presents an effective approach to increase the reliability and speed of integer ambiguity resolution through using pseudolite and INS measurements, with special emphasis on reducing the ambiguity search space. In addition, an algorithm which can effectively detect and correct the cycle slips is described as well. The algorithm utilizes additional position information provided by the INS, and applies a statistical technique known as the cumulative-sum (CUSUM) test that is very sensitive to abrupt changes of mean values. Results of simulation studies and field tests indicate that the algorithms are performed pretty well, so that the accuracy and performance of the integrated system can be maintained, even if cycle slips exist in the raw GPS measurements.

  • Mobile Mapping System needs system calibration of multi sensors. System calibration is defined as determination of spatial and rotational offsets between the sensors. Especially, EO parameters of GPS/INS require knowledge of the calibration to camera frame. The calibration parameters must be determined with the highest achievable accuracy in order to get 3D coordinate points in stereo CCD images. This study applies Boresight calibration for the calibration between GPS/INS and camera, and estimates the Performance of the calibration.

  • Nowadays it is necessary to manage the road system effectively because of the explosive increment of vehicles and goods. To resolve this problems through the fast upgrade of information about position and time of moving vehicles, the combined navigation system using GPS(Global Positioning System) and complementary navigation system, i.e. INS(Inertial Navigation System), DR(Dead Rocking), etc. has been used. Although GPS is popular for the vehicles in the urban canyon because of its few satellites. In this paper, position tracking algorithm is presented, which reduces vehicle position error dramatically by fusing GPS and INS sensors. And the validity of our algorithm is demonstrated by the experimental results with the real car.
