The GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) provides important information such as Position and Navigation, Timing(PNT) to various weapon systems in the military. as a result, applications that employ satellite navigation systems are increasing. therefore, a number of studies have been conducted to deceive the weapon systems that employ GNSS. GNSS spoofing denotes the transmission of counterfeit GNSS-like signals with the intention to produce a false position and time within the victim receiver. In order to deceive the victim receiver, spoofing signal should be synchronized with GNSS signal in doppler frequency and code phase, etc. In this paper, Civilian GPS L1 C/A spoofing signals have been evaluated and analyzed by SDR receiver.

Modernized GNSS signal structures tend to use tiered codes, and all GNSSs use binary codes as secondary codes. However, recently, signals using polyphase codes such as Zadoff-Chu sequence have been proposed, and are expected to be utilized in GNSS. For example, there is Tiered Differential Polyphase Code (TDPC) using polyphase code as secondary code. In TDPC, the phase of secondary code changes every one period of the primary code and a time-variant error is added to the carrier tracking error, so carrier tracking ambiguity exists until the secondary code phase is found. Since the carrier tracking ambiguity cannot be solved using the general GNSS receiver architecture, a new receiver architecture is required. Therefore, in this paper, we describe the carrier tracking ambiguity and its cause in signal tracking, and propose a receiver structure that can solve it. In order to prove the proposed receiver structure, we provide three signal tracking results. The first is the differential decoding result (secondary code sync) using the general GNSS receiver structure and the proposed receiver structure. The second is the IQ diagram before and after multiplying the secondary code demodulation when carrier tracking ambiguity is solved using the proposed receiver structure. The third is the carrier tracking result of the legacy GPS (L1 C/A) signal and the signal using TDPC.

In this paper, for implementing a real-time software GNSS receiver we propose the highly efficient and fast algorithms such as partial down-conversion, phase rotator, composite I&Q accumulation, Virtual DCO technique, and parallel acquisition using FFT. When the proposed algorithms are used, more 30 tracking channels with 3 tracking arm(early-prompt-late) is operated real-time on Intel 2.8GHz personal computer. Also, the partial down-conversion reduces the FFT size, for parallel acquisition, to 1/8 of conventional FFT-size and the program size includes map is not exceed 1Mbyte. Finally, the proposed real-time software GNSS receiver using the proposed algorithms provides the navigation solution with below 10 meter rms error.
This paper analyzes the design factors for GNSS anti-jamming receiver system in which the adaptive beamforming algorithm is applied in GNSS receiver system. The design analysis factors used in this paper are divided into three: antenna, beamforming algorithm, and operation environment. This paper analyzes the above three factors and presents numerical simulation results on antenna and beamforming algorithm.

The key technologies of GNSS receiver for GNSS sensor station are under development as a part of a GNSS ground station in ETRI. This paper presents the GNSS receiver implementation and signal processing result which is implemented based on FPGA to process the Galileo E1 and E5 signal. To verify the working and performance for GNSS receiver which is implemented based on FPGA, live signal received from GIOVE-B which is second test satellite is used. We gather GIOVE-B signal by using prototyping antenna and RF/IF units including IF-component. To verify Galileo E1 and E5 signal processing function from GIOVE-B, FPGA based signal processing module is implemented as a prototyping hardware board.
In this paper, we design a direct radio frequency (RF) sampling receiver for multiband GNSS signals and demonstrate its performance. The direct RF sampling is a technique that does not use an analog mixer, but samples the passband signal directly, and all receiver processes are done in digital domain, whereas the conventional intermediate frequency (IF) receiver samples the IF band signals. In contrast to the IF sampling receiver, the RF sampling receiver is less complex in hardware, reconfigurable, and simultaneously converts multiband signals to digital signals with an analog-to-digital (AD) converter. The reconfigurability and simultaneous reception are very important in military applications where rapid change to other system is needed when a system is jammed by an enemy. For simultaneous reception of multiband signals, the sampling frequency should be selected with caution by considering the carrier frequencies, bandwidths, desired intermediate frequencies, and guard bands. In this paper, we select a sampling frequency and design a direct RF sampling receiver to receive multiband global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals such as GPS L1, GLONASS G1 and G2 signals. The receiver is implemented with a commercial AD converter and software. The receiver performance is demonstrated by receiving the real signals.
In this study, we design an optimized Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-based GNSS signal processing technique with the goal of designing and implementing a GNSS Software Defined Receiver (SDR) that can operate in real time all-in-view mode under multi-constellation and multi-frequency signal environment. In the proposed structure the correlators of the existing GNSS SDR are processed by the GPU. We designed a memory structure and processing method that can minimize memory access bottlenecks and optimize the GPU memory resource distribution. The designed GNSS SDR can select and operate only the desired GNSS or desired satellite signals by user input. Also, parameters such as the number of quantization bits, sampling rate, and number of signal tracking arms can be selected. The computing capability of the designed GPU-based GNSS SDR was evaluated and it was confirmed that up to 2400 channels can be processed in real time. As a result, the GPU-based GNSS SDR has sufficient performance to operate in real-time all-in-view mode. In future studies, it will be used for more diverse GNSS signal processing and will be applied to multipath effect analysis using more tracking arms.
This paper presents the development of an end-to-end numerical simulator for signal design of the next generation global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The GNSS services are an essential element of modern human life, becoming a core part of national infra-structure. Several countries are developing or modernizing their own positioning and timing system as their demand, and South Korea is also planning to develop a Korean Positioning System (KPS) based on its own technology, with the aim of operation in 2034. The developed simulator consists of three main units such as a signal generator, a channel unit, and a receiver. The signal generator is constructed based on the actual navigation satellite payload model. For channels, a simple Gaussian channel and land mobile satellite (LMS) multipath channel environments are implemented. A software receiver approach based on a commercial GNSS receiver model is employed. Through the simulator proposed in this paper, it is possible to simulate the entire transceiver chain process from signal generation to receiver processing including channel effect. Finally, numerical simulation results for a simple example scenario is analyzed. The use of the numerical signal simulator in this paper will be ideally suited to design a new navigation signal for the upcoming KPS by reducing the research and development efforts, tremendously.

In this paper, we present the enhancement results such as availability and accuracy using the GPS L1 and Galileo E1 signal combination. To enhance the acquisition and tracking performance of signal processing in GNSS receiver. several tracking loops with integrator, discriminator, and loop filter module are applied. Also, this paper presents the performance comparison results between prototype receiver equipped with hardware board and software receiver. Also the tracking loop performance of real hardware receiver is verified by comparing with tracking accuracy, sensitivity occurred by the Spirent simulator. Especially, to process the Galileo E1 signal, it is used the a power early late type which is the typical type for DLL discriminator.
In the future, it is necessary that using the Satellite-based radio navigation augmentation system such as Differential Global Positioning System(DGPS) to achieve a position accuracy of sub-meter level in port. Generally, the receiver for DGPS reference station should meet performance specifications of RSIM Ver. 1.1 presented by RTCM. This paper proposes a method to verify performance of the receiver for DGPS reference station according to the RSIM Ver. 1.1. And this paper presented that performance evaluation of the commercial receiver for DGPS reference station through the proposed method is satisfied with RSIM Ver. 1.1.
