Most 3D models found in the literature focus on theoretical topology for exterior 3D volumes. Although there are a few indoor models such as CityGML or IFC, implementing a full topology for the indoor spaces is either less practical due to the complexity or not even necessary in some application domains. Moreover, current spatial DBMSs do not support functionalities explicitly for 3D topological relations. In this study, an alternative method to build a 3D indoor model with less complexity ernativespatial DBMS is suggested. Focusnation the fact that semantic attributes can be storedion the floor surface, we suggestivemulti-layered 3D model for indoor spaces. We show the process to build the proposed model in the PostGIS, a spatial DBMS. And, then, as an example application, we illustrate the process to build and run a campus building information system.

Land characteristics should be surveyed in an accurate and objective manner as they are important data to the formation of land prices. The ambiguous survey and estimation guidelines, however, make it possible for surveyors to intervene with their subjective judgments. There is thus a definite need for improvement. It is also extremely important to survey the characteristics of individual land lots in an accurate and objective manner in order to estimate officially assessed land prices in a swift and accurate way. For objective land appraisal and evaluation, this study set out to objectively identify the characteristics of lots according to various topographical conditions by using UAV based high quality geospatial information, panorama VR images, and GIS analysis technique and thus make a contribution to a rational and consistent estimation system of officially assessed land prices. Trying to assess the technique proposed in the study, the investigator analyzed the old data about the officially assessed land prices of the subject areas and then the evaluation data of certified public appraisers.

During emergencies, the time from symptom onset to definitive treatment determines the final outcome. Therefore, the emergency medical service (EMS) system in Korea, aims to transfer patients requiring emergency care to appropriate medical facilities within 30 minutes. This is in an attempt to improve the chances of survival and reduce sequelae. We attempted to locate areas vulnerable to prehospital transportation and identify hot spots with high demand for emergency medical helicopters in Jeju, by using a grid-based geospatial analysis. This retrospective cross-sectional observational study employed EMS data of 119 ambulance run sheets spanning from January 1, 2010 to September 30, 2018 in Jeju. The location data of emergency patients was superimposed on the spatial analysis frame using the geographic information system (GIS). Subsequently, the locations of long-distance transfer and delayed transfers to the hospital were analyzed, to identify hot spots where the demand for helicopter emergency services would be high. Of the total analysis targets, 42.2% (20,288 people) took more than 30 minutes from reporting to 119 dispatchers to hospital transfer. As the transfer time interval increased, the patient occurrence time increased in the city of Jeju, increased in Seogwipo, and the ratio of patients/guardians to select a transfer hospital rose with significant differences. This study identified the characteristics related to time delays in prehospital transfer of emergency patients in Jeju, and the areas vulnerable to prehospital emergency care were derived and visualized through spatial analysis using the GIS.

Assessment of soil erosion is a cost and time-consuming task. There are many models developed to predict soil erosion from an area, but Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is most widely used empirical equation for estimating annual soil erosion. Soil erosion depends upon-rainfall intensity, type of soil, land cover and land use, slope degree, slope length and soil conservation practice. All these parameters are have spatial distribution and hence satellite remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) are applicable in the assessment of the influence on soil erosion. GIS has been integrated with the USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) model in identification of rainfall-based erosion to the Bocheong River which is the representative basin of IHP due to Typhoon Rusa. Similar studies are available in literature, ranging from those that use a simple model such as USLE to others of a more sophisticated nature.

This study aims to provide information about the research-trends in the area of Geospatial Information using text-mining methods. We derived the National R&D Reports and papers from NDSL(National Discovery for Science Leaders) site. And then we preprocessed their key-words and classified those in separable sectors. We investigated the appearance rates and changes of key-words for R&D reports and papers. As a result, we conformed that the researches concerning applications are increasing, while the researches dealing with systems are decreasing. Especially, with in the framework of the keyword, '3D-GIS', 'sensor' and 'service' xcept ITS are emerging. It could be helpful to investigate research items later.

The rapid change of industrial structure causes to increase distribution cost and requires necessity of physical distribution system urgently. Traffic situation is getting extremely worse and traffic jam has led to increasing expense of physical distribution delivery which dominates 20% of distribution cost. In this situation, the shortest and most suitable path search system is required by modern people who must waste a lot of time for moving with a car or on the street as well as many companies. for these reasons, we developed the shortest-path-searching system applying the dijkstra algorithm which is one of the effective shortest path algorithm to GIS, and it was constructed by considering realistic urban traffic and the pattern of street in a physical situation. Also, this system was developed to be updated weight data automatically, considering the dynamic change of traffic situation such as a traffic information service which will be served in real time. Finally, we designed this system to serve on web by using MapObjects IMS.
This paper refers and implements XML Web services, which supports networked interchanges of moving object information. XML Web services are expected to be fundamental building blocks in the move to distributed computing on the Internet. As an interchange format, GML encodes semantics, syntax, and schema of geospatial and geoprocessing-related information resources. It can give great benefits to utilize raw data easily as an XML encoding format does. This paper proposes a full coverage of interoperable location trajectory services consisting of 3 independent modules: a moving object database, a data processing server, and a web services interface module. For communications, SOAP protocols and WSDL documents are used, which can guarantee an interoperability of a system regardless of different platforms and service channels. This paper also designs a GML data format that represents location information of probe cars.
Estimation of carbon in the natural forest regions is a pre-requisite for carbon management. In the light of increasing carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere, the amount of carbon present in the plants and soils are very much needed to estimate the sequestered carbons stock of any region. Carbon stock estimation studies are limited in India, especially in the natural forest regions of Eastern ghats of Tamil Nadu. Remote sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS) and global positioning system (GPS) were used along with extensive field and laboratory works to estimate the carbon stock in the living biomass and soil. About five forest types were identified and mapped using satellite data. The total biomass carbon including above and below ground were 2.74 Tg and the total soil organic carbon was 3.48 Tg. This study has yielded significant information about the carbon stock in a natural forest region and it could be used for future comparative studies.

Geotechnical information database, foundation of underground geographic information system in 2nd NGIS plan, had been developing by Ministry of Construction and Transportation since 2000. This database contains not only soil condition, such as depth, type and color of layer, and ground water level, but also engineering properties used for foundation design and construction, for instance, standard penetration test, compression test. But, it is difficult to apply this database for analyzing and designing geotechnical works, because report document is only offered. In this paper, we have developed web-based geospatial information system for the effective uses. First, underground cross-section model is generated by location, layer, and engineering properties of geotechnical information database at the realtime process. Second, earth volume, bearing capacity, and settlement is calculated and potentials of soft ground, liquefaction are evaluated through pre-defined empirical formula. This process is operated by web-based client. We wish to strengthen the application capacity through this system in construction planning and design works.

The Public Noticed Land Price system was developed in order to establish a practical and consistent land price information system, where land prices are appraised and publicly noticed according to the Law Governing the Public Notice of Real Estate Prices and Appraisals. The appraisal process for evaluating and appraising the public noticed land price in conducted in phases, where the nation's land is divided into human and spatial portions according to administrative districts. Depending on the subjective judgement of the appraiser, it is therefore possible for discrepancies to occur in land prices for lots near the boundaries of administrative districts. There is the computerized support system to maintain the public noticed land prices balance between the boundaries of cities, counties, and districts (the units in which evaluation and appraisal are conducted to determine public noticed land prices). But, due to that system is divided into attribute and spatial data information, it is possible for discrepancies to occur in land prices for lots near the boundaries of administrative districts. The purpose of this study to suggest the reasonable methods on discrepancies in public noticed land prices through spatial analysis using GIS.
