파워 어시스트 시스템을 위한 이동 머니퓰레이터의 제어 (Control of Mobile Manipulators for Power Assist Systems)

  • In this paper, we present a control method of mobile power assist systems. Most of mobile power assist systems have a heavy base for preventing easy tumbling, so continual movement of the base during operations causes high energy consumption and gives the high risk of human injury. Furthermore, the slow dynamics of the base limits the frequency bandwidth of the whole system. Thus we propose a cooperation control method of the mobile base and manipulator, which removes the unnecessary movements of the base. In our scheme, the mobile base does not move until the center of gravity(C.G) of the system goes outside a safety region. When C.G. reaches the boundary of the safety region, the base starts moving to recover the manipulator's initial configuration. By varying the parameters of a human impedance controller, the operator is warned by a force feedback that C.G. is on the marginal safety region. Our scheme is implemented by assigning a nonlinear mass-damper-spring impedance to the tip of the manipulator. 압출성형과 효소처리가 신령버섯 β-Glucan의 추출에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Extrusion and Enzyme Treatment on Extraction of β-Glucan from Agaricus blazei Murill)

  • 압출성형공정과 효소처리가 신령버섯 추출물의 ${\beta}$-glucan 함량에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 스크루 회전속도 250 rpm, 원료 사입량 100 g/min, 사출구 3 mm 원형으로 고정하였으며, 수분 함량 20, 30%, 배럴 온도 130, $140^{\circ}C$로 조절하여 압출성형 신령버섯을 제조하였다. 수분 함량 20%, 배럴 온도 $130^{\circ}C$의 압출성형공정을 통한 신령버섯 추출혼합물은 ${\beta}$-glucan 함량이 16.91 mg/g으로 다른 공정들보다 증가하였다. 수분 함량 20%, 배럴 온도 $130^{\circ}C$의 압출성형 공정과 Rohament CL로 처리한 추출물의 ${\beta}$-glucan 함량은 같은 압출성형공정의 Viscozyme L 처리 추출물 17.35 mg/g과 Plantase TL 처리 추출물 17.51 mg/g보다 18.32 mg/g으로 가장 많이 증가하였다. 결론적으로 압출성형공정과 Rohament CL 처리한 추출물의 ${\beta}$-glucan 함량이 18.32 mg/g으로 압출성형공정과 효소처리를 하지 않은 대조구의 14.45 mg/g보다 약 26.7% 정도 증가함을 나타내었다. 이는 신령버섯 추출 시에 압출성형공정과 효소처리가 ${\beta}$-glucan 함량을 대조구에 비해 증가시킬 수 있다고 판단되었다.

Direct Fermentation of D-Xylose to Ethanol by Candida sp. BT001

  • A yeast strain, BT001, which can directly ferment D-xylose to ethanol was isolated from forest soils, and then identified as Candida sp. Cultural conditions for the optimum ethanol production, along with the effects of aeration on cell growth and ethanol production were investigated. Aeration stimulated the cell growth and the volumetric rate of ethanol production, but decreased the ethanol yield. Optimum temperature and initial pH for the ethanol production were $33{\circ}^C$ and 6.0, respectively. In a shake flask culture, this strain produced 52.3 g ethanol per liter from 12%(w/v) D-xylose after incubation for 96 hours. Ethanol yield was 0.436 g per g D-xylose consumed. This corresponds to 85.8% of theoretical yield. Also, this yeast strain produced ethanol from D-galactose, D-glucose and D-mannose, but not from L-arabinose and L-rhamnose. Among these sugars, D-glucose was the fastest in being converted to ethanol sugars.

Identification of Human LRG1 Polymorphisms and Their Genetic Association with Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Human leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein 1 (LRG1) was first identified as a trace protein in human serum. The primary sequence of LRG1 includes repeated leucine residues and putative membrane-binding domains. But, there is no published information on the genetic variation of this gene. In this study, LRG1 was identified as one of several upregulated genes in RA patients. We examined the expression levels of LRG1 between an RA patient and a healthy control by RT-PCR and validated that LRG1 was highly expressed in RA patients compared with controls. We identified the possible variation sites and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the human LRG1 gene by direct sequencing and analyzed the association of genotype and allele frequencies between RA patients and a control group without RA. We further investigated the relationship between these polymorphisms and the level of RF or anti-CCP in RA patients. We identified a total of three SNPs(g.-678A>G, g.-404C>T and g.1427T>C) and two variation sites (g.-1198delA and g.-893delA) in the LRG1 gene. Our results suggest that polymorphisms of the LRG1 gene are not associated with the susceptibility of RA in the Korean population.

먹물버섯속균(Coprinus spp.)의 형태적 특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Morphological Characteristics of Coprinus species)

  • 식용과 약용버섯으로서 이용가치가 높은 것으로 알려진 먹물버섯(C. comatus)에 대하여 보다 우수한 인공재배법을 개발하고 자실체의 형태적 특성에 대한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 먹물버섯속균 5개 균주 중에서 C. comatus균인 CM 980301 균주를 우량균주로 선발하였으며, 먹물버섯(C. comatus: CM 980301)자실체를 생산하기 위한 우수 배지는 종균용으로 밀곡립배지를 사용하고, 먹물버섯을 볏짚 발효배지에 인공재배 하였을 때 $24{\sim}28^{\circ}C$에서 균배양은 종균 접종 후 15일, 복토 후 13일이 소요되었으며, 원기형성 및 초발이는 $20{\sim}24^{\circ}C$에서 $10{\sim}11$일이 소요되었고, 버섯생육은 $20{\sim}24^{\circ}C$에서 $7{\sim}8$일이 소요되었다. 먹물버섯 (CM 980301)의 수확적기는 갓이 피기 전으로 자실체 경도는 갓 $102{\sim}169\;g/cm^2$, 대 $126{\sim}182\;g/cm^2$으로 단단하였고, 인공재배한 수량성은 $37.7kg/3.3m^2$, 개체중 17.9 g이었다.

Effect of Soaking Time and Steeping Temperature on Biochemical Properties and γ-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) Content of Germinated Wheat and Barley

  • The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of soaking time (6, 12 and 24 hr) and steeping temperature (25, 30 and $35^{\circ}C$) on germination time, germination percentage and weight loss of wheat and barley. Changes in chemical composition (such as protein, fat, and ash), reducing sugar content, enzyme activity and pasting profile and GABA ($\gamma$-animobutyric acid) content of germinated wheat and barley were also evaluated. The results clearly suggest that the short soaking time and lower steeping temperature significantly decreased germination time and weight loss, while germination percentage increased. Regarding the chemical composition, the protein content of wheat and barley was slightly increased after germination but there was no significant difference in content of crude fat and ash of both germinated cereals. The reducing sugar content of both germinated cereals decreased as the steeping temperature increased from $25^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$. Increasing soaking time and steeping temperature led to increased amylase activity, and also corresponded to reduced paste viscosity. The highest GABA content that occurred with soaking times of 6 and 12 hr and a steeping temperature of $35^{\circ}C$ was 1,467.74 and 1,474.70 ${\mu}g/g$ for germinated wheat and 2,108.13 and 1,691.85 ${\mu}g/g$ for germinated barley. This study indicated that the optimum germination process for wheat and barley is a low steeping temperature and a short soaking time.

  • Attempts were made to investigate on sterols of Cryptoporus volatus (Pk.) Hubb.. Its carpophores were collected in Gyeong Gi Province and extracted with a mixture of chloroform and methanol. From the extract eight spots were detected by T.L.C.. One of the spots was identified as ergosterol by T.L.C., G.L.C. and chemical tests.

Change in Ginsenosides and Maltol in Dried Raw Ginseng during Extrusion Process

  • Although widely applied in the food industry, extrusion cooking has not been applied to the traditional red ginseng process for steaming and drying ginseng. We therefore investigated the change in the effective components in red ginseng (total saponins, ginsenosides and maltol) from extruded raw ginseng. The variables were the drying temperature of the sliced raw ginseng (80 and $90^{\circ}C$) before the extrusion process and the moisture content (15 and 22%, w.b.) during the extrusion process. Ginsenosides Rg1 and Rg2 were detected in dried ginseng at $80^{\circ}C$, but ginsenoside Rg3, which was contained in red ginseng, was not detected. On the other hand, ginsenosides Rg1, Rg2 and Rg3 were detected in extruded ginseng at moisture contents of 15 and 22%. Total ginsenosides were highest at $90^{\circ}C$ drying temperature and 22% moisture content for the extrusion process.

Genetic Analysis of SCN5A in Korean Patients Associated with Atrioventricular Conduction Block

  • Recent several studies have shown that the genetic variation of SCN5A is related with atrioventricular conduction block (AVB); no study has yet been published in Koreans. Therefore, to determine the AVB-associated genetic variation in Korean patients, we investigated the genetic variation of SCN5A in Korean patients with AVB and compared with normal control subjects. We enrolled 113 patients with AVB and 80 normal controls with no cardiac symptoms. DNA was isolated from the peripheral blood, and all exons (exon 2-exon 28) except the untranslated region and exon-intron boundaries of the SCN5A gene were amplified by multiplex PCR and directly sequenced using an ABI PRISM 3100 Genetic Analyzer. When a variation was discovered in genomic DNA from AVB patients, we confirmed whether the same variation existed in the control genomic DNA. In the present study, a total of 7 genetic variations were detected in 113 AVB patients. Of the 7 variations, 5 (G87A-A29A, intervening sequence 9-3C>A, A1673G-H558R, G3578A-R1193Q, and T5457C-D1819D) have been reported in previous studies, and 2 (C48G-F16L and G3048A-T1016T) were novel variations that have not been reported. The 2 newly discovered variations were not found in the 80 normal controls. In addition, G298S, G514C, P1008S, G1406R, and D1595N, identified in other ethnic populations, were not detected in this study. We found 2 novel genetic variations in the SCN5A gene in Korean patients with AVB. However, further functional study might be needed.

Styrenic Polymers연구(1), Poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)의 이미드화와 열적 성질 (Studies on the Styrenic Polymers(1), Imidization of Poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydrides) and Their Thermal Properties)

  • Poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride), SMA를 DMF 용매에 약 10%(w/w) 용액으로 한 다음 aniline, p-toluidine 및 p-chloroaniline 등으로 maleic anhydride 반복 단위를 imide화 하였다. 이미드화에 있어서 환화 탈수제(cyclodehydration agents)를 사용하였으며 최적 반응조건은 다음과 같았다. (a) 반응온도 : $80^{\circ}C$ (b) 환화 탈수제의 몰비 : SMA내 anhydride/acetic anhydride/sodium acetate/triethyl amino = 1.0/2.0/0.2/1.1. 생성된 imide-modified SMA (SMI) 시료들은 이미드화도가 증가됨에 따라 $T_g$가 증가하였으나 그 변화 정도는 크지 않았다. SMI의 $T_g$는 이미드화에 사용된 아민의 종류에 따라 aniline < p-toluidine < p-chloroaniline의 순으로 $T_g$가 증가하였다.
