It has been reported frequently that clinical features of gallstone disease in Korean were similarly changing to those of Occidentals. This changing was thought to be due to Westernized lifestyle and dietary patterns in Korean. The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutritional risk factor among patients with gallstone. The subjects of this study were 90 gallstone group with biliary stone as confirmed by cholecystectomy and 111 control group with no biliary stone as confirmed by ultrasonography adjusted according to age and gender. Anthropometric indices and biomarkers were measured and dietary habit as well as nutrient consumption pattern were investigated using a structured checklist of health-related eating behavior and a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. The mean age was higher in GG (gallbladder stone patient group) than CG (control group). The average BMI and WHR (waisthip ratio) tended to be higher than those in CG. WC (waist circumference) and WHR of women in GG were significantly higher than in CG. GG had lower levels in TC (p < 0.01), LDL-C (p < 0.05), and HDL-C (p < 0.05), but higher FBG levels (p < 0.001). GG tended to be associated with lower physical activity and more frequent consumption of meat, meats with high fat and high sugar content food. The consumption levels of fiber (p < 0.05), vitamin C (p < 0.05), calcium (p < 0.01) in GG were significantly lower than in CG. These findings showed that the association with incidence of gallbladder stone and anthrophometric indices and dietary consumption patterns. Further study may be necessary to elucidate the dietary risk factors in the changing patterns of gallstone disease.

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate polymorphisms of the melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) and insulin like growth factor 2 (IGF2) genes and to evaluate the growth traits affected by such polymorphisms in Thai native (Kradon) pigs. Methods: Blood samples and productive data from 91 Kradon pigs were collected. DNA was extracted and quantified, the IGF2 and MC4R genes were amplified, and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) produces were digested using the PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique. Genotyping was performed, and the association between genotypes and growth traits on the birth and weaning weights were evaluated. Results: The IGF2 intron7 g.162G>C variations in Kradon pigs were found in three genotypes: i) GG, ii) GC, and iii) CC. The GG genotype frequency was the highest followed by the GC and CC genotypes. The frequencies of the G and C alleles were 0.703 and 0.297, respectively. The MC4R genotype was found in only one genotype (GG). The IGF2 gene pattern was not associated with birth weight traits, whereas the IGF2 gene pattern was related to the weaning weight trait in Kradon pigs. Pigs with the CC and GC genotypes had higher weaning weights than ones with the GG genotype (p<0.001). Conclusion: Thai native Kradon pigs with the CC and GC genotypes of the IGF2 gene have higher weaning weights than pigs with the GG genotype.

(傳說의 故鄕) is a broadcast play as one-act play series based on Korean legends and folktales. It was first aired in 1977 from KBS and there has been borrowed from this play in a variety of genres such as books and movies as the name of this series securing its popularity and awareness of the public. In this context, this is a representative work for Korean horror genre. Recently, for example, a series webtoon <2013 Home of the Legends> is published on one of the main portal websites, NAVER from July, 2013. This webtoon is main subject of this study. The purpose of this study is to discuss how the genre characteristics of Korean horror in TV serial play transmitted and changed in series webtoon <2013 Home of the Legends>. TV serial play is a representative narrative based on Korean folktales, trying to change its narrative in the range of undestroyed folktale basic move with combining the original motifs. Serial webtoon <2013 Home of the Legends>, however, deconstructs this combination motif in folktale form and leads to new move in narrative. For Korean users accustomed to Korean folktale form as the architext, this will be expected as reversal and make catharsis. Meanwhile, the deconstruction of combination motif leads to extinction of its cause-and-effect, which consists the axis of original narrative form, with resulting powerless theme, good overcoming evil and punitive justice. The aspects of changes in <2013 Home of the Legends> represent new orientation of Korean horror.

클러스터링은 주어진 데이터 포인트들을 주어진 개수의 그룹으로 나누는 비지도 학습의 한 방법이다. 클러스터링의 방법 중 하나로 널리 알려진 퍼지 클러스터링은 하나의 포인트가 모든 클러스터에 서로 다른 정도로 소속될 수 있도록 함으로써 각 포인트가 하나의 클러스터에만 속할 수 있도록 하는 K-means와 같은 방법에 비해 자연스러운 클러스터 형태의 유추가 가능하고, 잡음에 강한 장점이 있다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 퍼지 클러스터링 방법 중 소속도(membership)와 전형성(typicality)을 동시에 계산해 낼 수 있는 Possibilistic Fuzzy C-Means (PFCM) 방법에 Gath-Geva (GG)의 방법 을 적용하여 PFCM을 확장한다. 제안한 방법은 PFCM의 장점을 그대로 가지면서도, GG의 거리 척도에 의해 클러스터들 사이의 경계를 강조함으로써 분류 목적에 적합한 소속도를 계산할 수 있으며, 전형성은 가우스 형태의 분포에서 생성된 포인트들의 분포 함수를 정확하게 모사함으로써 확률 밀도 추정의 방법으로도 사용될 수 있다. 또한 GG 방법은 Gustafson-Kessel 방법과 달리 클러스터에 포함된 포인트의 개수가 확연히 차이 나는 경우에도 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 사실을 실험 결과를 통해 확인할 수 있었다.

Recently, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) was shown to exert insulin-sensitizing and adiposity-reducing effects in high-fat (HF) diet-fed mice. In the present study, we observed that the effects were correlated with the extent of dysbiosis induced by HF diet feeding before LGG administration. LGG-treated mice were protected from HF diet-induced adiposity and/or insulin resistance when LGG was treated after, not along with, HF diet feeding. Results indicate that, under HF dietary condition, supplemented LGG reverses insulin resistance, but does not block its onset.

The location of ganglioglioma (GG) within the infratentorial compartment is unusual. The authors report a rare case of GG in the cerebellar hemisphere. A 12-year-old boy suffered from headache and gait disturbance. Neuroimaging studies demonstrated a large enhancing cerebellar mass with cystic components compressing the forth ventricle. After complete resection of the tumor, the patient became symptom free. Histological examination on the tumor disclosed glial cells and dysplastic ganglion cells. Although it is a rare tumor, in the appropriate clinical setting, a GG should be considered in the presence of a cerebellar mass with both solid and cystic components on magnetic resonance images in children.

This paper intends to provide some guidelines for the articles to be published in Survey Research. For that purpose, we review the research articles published in Public Opinion Quarterly in 1991, 1995, and 2000. and identify the characteristics and the analytical methods and data used in these researches. Articles in Public Opinion Quarterly have some implications to the Korean survey research community in such a way that the types of researches to improve survey qualities and meta analyses of previously conducted survey researches seem to be the most useful and necessary at present.

As a secondary stage of the liquid rocket engine development test, turbopump-gas generator powerpack tests are being performed. The schematics of the test hardware and the test facility for the TP+GG coupled test are presented. The results of a preliminary test results for the verification of the propellant supply system of the test facility are also presented. Based on the preliminary tests results, the verification of the propellants supply systems of the facility system was performed.

한글은 세계 여느 문자처럼 자연 발생적으로 생긴 문자체계가 아니라 수천년간 인류의 어음에 대한 사유와 고도의 어음기술이 집약된 문자관에 의해 연역적 방법으로 창제된 문자체계이므로 다른 문자와는 차별적인 연구방법이 요구된다. 세종조에 편찬되었던 ${\ll}훈민정음{\gg}{;\}.{\;}{\ll}홍무정운역훈{\gg}{;\}.{\;}{\ll}동국정운{\gg}$는 제작 동기와 목적이 달라서 각각 상이한 어음체계를 가지고 있는데, 각 어음체계가 필요로 하는 글자꼴을 한글은 27개(자음16개, 모음11개)의 기본글자꼴에 발음부위 및 발음방법을 상형한 새로운 글자꼴을 제공하여 각각의 문자체계를 구성하였다. 유교적 언어관의 토양에서 세상 모든 음의 생성원리에 의해 창제된 한글은 바로 세상의 모든 음을 표기할 수 있는 문자체계인 것이다. 이러한 한글음성문자는 오늘날 이질어음체계의 외국어를 표음하는 데에도 예외 없이 적용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 글자꼴의 유연성.응용면에서 국제음성문자(I.P.A)보다 월등히 과학적이고 완정한 음성문자로서 기능할 수 있다.
