The Crystal Structure of Tolfenamic Acid $(C_{14}H_{12}ClNO_2)$, an Antiinflammatory Fenamate

  • The structural analysis of tolfenamic acid, 2-[(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl)-amino]benzoic acid, was performed by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The compound was recrystallized from a mixture of ether and toluene in triclinic, space group $P2_1/c, \;with\; \partial=3.914(1), \; b=22.\; 020(2), \; c=14.271(1)\;{\AA}, \beta.=94.68(1)^{\circ}, $ and Z=4. The calculated density is $1.418 g/cm^3$. The structure was solved by the direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares procedure to the final R value of 0.039 for 1773 independent reflections. In the molecule, carboxyl group at the anthranilic acid is coplanar to the phenyl ring. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings of the molecule is $44.2^{\circ}$ The molecules are dirnerized through the intermolecular hydrogen bonds at the carboxyl group in the crystal.

  • The morphology and composition of anodic films, formed on aluminium at various current densities, in the range 1-$100{\;}Am^{-2}$, in the molten bisulphate melt at different temperatures (418-498K), have been studied using transmission electron microscopy of ultramicrotomed film sections, and ion beam thinned films. From the structural analysis of the electron diffraction patterns taken from the ultramicrotomed sections and ion beam thinned films, it can be concluded that the crystal modification process from ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3{\;}to{\;}{\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ proceeds in the following steps : (equation omitted)

ELECTRICAL BREAKDOWN INITIATION OF ANODIC FILMS DURING ANODIZING IN MOLTEN BISULPHATE MELT

  • The morphology and composition of anodic films, formed on aluminium at various current densities, in the range $1-100{\;}Am^{-2}$, in the molten bisulphate melt at different temperatures (418-498K), have been studied using transmission electron microscopy of ultramicrotomed film sections, and ion beam thinned films. The first sign of incipient breakdown revealed by transmission electron microscopy of stripped films, is always the appearance of dark regions about 1,000 nm in diameter, representing local overgrowth of the film. The breakdown mechanism is closely related to thermal effects, because temperature rises at regions representing local overgrowth in the stripped films were observed at voltages close to the breakdown voltage, likely arising through impact ionization.

  • We present the complete genome sequence of Priestia aryabhattai strain S2 isolated from the soybean rhizosphere. The genome consists of a single circular chromosome of 5,070,860 bp with a G+C content of 38.3% and 2 plasmids, P1(148,124 bp, GC content 33.3%) and P2 (76,418 bp, GC content 36.5%).

쑥(Artemisia sp.)의 가공방법이 면양의 소화율과 반추위내 발효특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Mugwort Processing Types on in vivo Digestibility and Ruminal Fermentation Characteristics in Sheep)

  • This study was conducted to examine the nutrient digestibility and ruminal fermentation characteristics in sheep fed dried mugwort and mugwort silage for 5% levels of rice straw in the basal diet, and mugwort pellet for 5% levels of concentrate in the basal diet. For the experiment, they were given a basal diet containing of rice straw and concentrate mixed at a 3: 7 ratio (DM basis). The treatments were designed as a 4 ${\times}$ 4 Latin square design with four sheep (50.2 kg body weight). The digestibility of crude protein was increased (p < 0.05) to 4.6 - 6.2 % in sheep fed mugwort silage treatments (60.23 %) compared with those of control (54.08 %) and dried mugwort treatment (55.67 %). That of ether extract was iicreased (p < 0.05) to 4.8 - 8.8 % in sheep fed mugwort silage treatments (80.22 %) compared with those of control (71.47 %) and dried mugwort treatment (75.46 %). In the dry matter intake, mugwort silage treatment (904.44 g) was the hightest and mugwort pellet treatment, dried mugwort treatment and control were 810.66 g, 780.66 g and 742.18 g, respectively. The ruminal pH in all treatments were rapidly decreased (p < 0.05) at 0.5 and 1 hour after feeding and slowly increased at 2, 4 and 8 hours after feeding, especially mugwort silage treatment. The ammonia nitrogen concentrations were the highest (p < 0.05) in sheep fed mugwort silage treatment (11.24 - 12.05mg / 100 rnz) at 0.5 and 2 hours after feeding. The ruminal concentrations of acetic acid (6.06 mmol /100 $m\ell$) and propionic acid (2.35 mmol/ 100 mz) were an increased (p < 0.05) at the mugwort silage treatments at 1 and 2 hours after feeding. Purine derivatives out put (13.41 mmol / d) and microbial protein production (11.61 mmol / d) were increased (p < 0.05) compared with those of control (5.42 and 4.93 mmol / d).

  • 발암물질인 2-acetylaminofluorence(2-AAF)과 Choline 결핍이 서로 다른 지방을 섭취한 쥐간의 지질과산물, Glucose 6-phosphatase (G6Pase)와 Glutathione S-transferase(GST) 활성도에 미치는 영향을 연구 하였다. 식이 지방은 쇠기름과 옥수수유를 사용하였으며 각 식이 지방군을 Choline 결핍군과 대조군으로 나누어 실험하였다. 식이섭취 3주와 5주째, 2-AAF 처리군과 비처리군으로 나누어 처리군에 매주 2회씩 총4회 2-AAF를 주사 한 뒤 식이섭취 10주 루 동물을 희생 시켰다. MIcrosome의 지질과산화물 함량은 2-AAF와 Choline결핍(CD)식이에 의해 옥수수유 군에서 증가하여 지질과산화 반응에 있어 2-AAF와 CD식이의 역활이 쇠기름을 섭취하였을때 보다 옥수수유를 섭취한 경우 더 중요함을 알 수 있었다. Microsome의 G6Pase활성은 유의적이지는 않으나 2-AAF와 CD식이에 의해 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 옥수수유의 섭취에 의해서는 유의적으로 감소하였다. GST활성은 식이지방에 따라 2-AAF나 CD식이에 의해 증가하였으며 이때 증가된 GST는 발암물질의 대사와 지질과산화물 형성에 대해 방어 작용을 한것으로 보인다.

Lactation Performance of German Fawn Goat in Relation to Feeding Level and Dietary Protein Protection

  • Effects of high and low levels of feeding with or without protected protein on the performance of lactating goats were studied. Twenty four German Fawn goats either from 1st ($43.37{\pm}3.937$ kg and 2 year old) or 3rd $62.64{\pm}6.783$ kg and 4-5 year old) parity were used for the trial. Feeding levels were 7.2 (I) and 5.2 (II) MJ ME/litre of milk of 3.5% fat in addition to that of the maintenance allowance. At each feeding level, diet had either unprotected (U) or formaldehyde protected (P) soya-meal. Thus, four diets were IU, IP, IIU and IIP, having six animals in each. The diets were composed of hay and pellet (10:4:1 of beet pulp : barley : soya-meal). Effect of feeding level, protein protection, parity, health status and kid number on intake, milk yield, milk composition, growth rate of goats were recorded across the 21 weeks of study. High feeding level resulted increase (p<0.001) in estimated metabolizable energy (ME) and metabolizable protein (MP) availability. Dietary inclusion of protected soya-meal increased (p<0.001) the estimated MP but not the ME availability. Animals in 1st parity ate more (p<0.001) DM (111 vs. 102 g/kg $W^{0.75}$/d) than those in 3rd parity. Animals with twin kids (110 g/kg $W^{0.75}$/d) had higher (p<0.001) DM intake than those with single kid (102 g/kg $W^{0.75}$/d). Fat (4%) corrected milk (FCM) yield was not effected by high (1,924 g/d) or low (1,927 g/d) feeding level but increased (p<0.001) with protected (2,166 g/d) compared with unprotected (1,703 g/d) soya-meal. FCM yield for four dietary combinations were 1,806, 2,078, 1,600 and 2,254 g/d for diets IU, IP, IIU and IIP, respectively. For unit increase (g) in estimated MP availability relative to ME (MJ) intake, FCM yield increased ($1,418{\pm}275.6$) g daily ($r^2$=0.58; p<0.001). Milk fat (3.14 vs. 3.54%; p<0.001) and protein (2.94 vs. 3.04% p<0.05) contents were lower at high than the low feeding level. Protected protein increased (p<0.001) the fat, lactose and net energy (NE) content of milk. Milk urea concentration of 175, 183, 192 and 204 mg/l for diets IU, IP, IIU and IIP, respectively indicated lower RDP content of these diets. The RDP contents were 6.97, 6.70, 7.30 and 6.83 g/MJ of ME for diets IU, IP, IIU and IIP, respectively. Live weight change over the experimental period were 41, 6, 17 and 19 g/d. Absence of any positive response of high feeding was probably due to inefficient rumen fermentation resulting from inadequate RDP supply. Protected protein improved production performance apparently by increasing MP:ME ratio in the absorbed nutrient.

품종별 감꽃 동결건조 분말의 유효성분 분석 (Analysis of Useful Components for Freeze-Dried Persimmon Flower Powder by Cultivar)

  • 감 품종별(도근조생, 고종시, 갑주백목, 차랑, 월하시, 상주둥시)로 감꽃을 개화기에 채취하여 동결건조 분말화한 감꽃분말에 함유된 유효성분을 분석, 비교하였다. 조지방 함량은 도근조생이 57.26%로 가장 높은 값을 보였으며, 유리당 조성은 fructose가 $95{\sim}310 mg%$, glucose는 $75{\sim}281mg%$, sucrose가 $7{\sim}28mg%$의 함유량을 나타내었고, 유기산 중 malic acid가 갑주백목(6월4일)에 225 mg%로 가장 많았고, tartaric acid도 189 mg%로 가장 많았다. 유리아미노산 중 hydroxy-L-proline은 월하시에 25.33 mg%, L-citrulline 은 상주둥시(5월28일)가 58.83 mg%, L-threonine은 상주둥시(5월28일)가 11.88 mg%로 가장 많았다. 페놀산으로 caffeic acid는 갑주백목(6월4일)이 $1,946{\mu}g/100g$, p-hydioxybenzoic acid는 상주둥시(5월29일)가 $417.8{\mu}g/100 g$, protocatechuic acid는 갑주백목(6월1일)이 $181.1{\mu}g/100g$으로 가장 많았다. 따라서 감꽃에도 감이나 감잎에 못지 않게 유용한 식품성분들과 기능성 성분들이 다량 함유되어 있어 새로운 식품 및 기능성 신소재로서의 가치가 매우 높다고 할 수 있다.

저밀도 리포단백질 수용체 관련 단백질 5(LRP5) 유전자 적중 생쥐의 개발 (Development of Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein 5 (LRP5) Gene Targeted Mouse)

  • 저밀도 리포단백질 수용체 관련 단백질 5(LRP5)는 간과 췌장을 포함하여 많은 조직에서 발현하며 아포리포단백질 E와 결합한다. 이와 같은 LRP5 유전자의 체내 기능을 규명하기 위하여 LRP5 유전자가 결손된 생쥐를 개발하였다. 먼지 LRP5 genomic DNA는 TT2 ES 세포로부터 분리하였으며 LRP5 유전자의 엑손 18에 neo 유전자를 삽입한 vector를 구축하고 TT2 ES 세포에 도입하였다. 178개의 G418 내성을 보인 세포 중 상동유전자 재조합에 의하여 targeting vector가 LRP5 유전자 위치에 삽입된 clone은 3개였다. 키메라 생쥐는 상실배기 수정을 ES 세포와 응집시켜 생산하였으며 생산된 키메라 생쥐는 C57BL/6 생쥐와 교미를 유도하여 heterozygous를 얻었다. 또한 이들 heterozygous간의 교배에 의하여 LRP5 유전자 결손 생쥐를 생산하였다. 이러한 생쥐는 LRP5 유전자의 체내 기능연구에 있어서 모델로 이용될 것으로 생각된다.

치과위생사의 교육훈련, 자기효능감 및 사회적 지지가 직무몰입에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Educational Training and Psychosocial Characteristics on Job Involvement in Dental Hygienists)

  • 이 연구는 치과위생사의 일반적 특성, 직업특성, 교육훈련의 경험, 그리고 심리사회적 특성인 자기효능감과 사회적 지지 등이 직무성과의 대표적 지표인 직무몰입과 어떠한 관련성을 보이는지를 분석하고자 하였다. S, I, G지역의 치과 병 의원에서 1년 이상 근무경력이 있는 여성 치과위생사 418명을 최종 연구대상으로 하였고, 구조화된 자기 기입형 설문지를 사용하여 연구대상자의 일반적 특성, 직업특성, 교육훈련(학부 인문사회과목 수강경험, 취업 후 보수교육 등의 참여 경험), 심리사회적 특성(자기효능감, 사회적 지지) 등과 직무몰입 간의 관련성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 치과위생사들의 직무몰입에 영향을 주는 요인은 일반적 특성이나 직업특성보다는 대학 교육과정에서의 인문사회과목 수강경험과 심리사회적 요인인 자기효능감과 사회적 지지였다. 치과위생사의 직무몰입 향상을 위해 인성강화를 위한 대학 교육과정의 인문사회 교과목 편성의 제도적 보완, 자신의 업무역량을 강화시키고 업무에 대한 효능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 자기개발기회의 보장과 조성, 그리고 직장동료나 상사와의 다양한 정보 공유와 도움을 가능하게 해줄 수 있는 직장 내 멘토링 제도 등의 도입이 절실하게 필요하다.
